Astonishing claims by new witnesses are being examined by British detectives investigating Diana's death. They seem incredible. But if true, they could rock the Royal Family to its foundations.

On the night that Diana, Princess of Wales died, the lights of the British Embassy — less than a mile from the accident spot in Paris — blazed until dawn finally broke over the French capital.

Inside the imposing building, diplomats summoned from their sleep by the British ambassador, Sir Michael Jay, struggled to monitor the tragedy that was unfolding.

Millions of words have been written about the moment that Diana, with her Muslim boyfriend Dodi Fayed, smashed into pillar 13 of the Pont d’Alma road tunnel as they were being driven from the Ritz Hotel in a black Mercedes at 12.20am on Sunday, August 31, 1997.

Ever since, the precise chronology of the fateful night and the roles played by the Royal Family and the Government have been accepted almost without serious challenge.

Yet the Mail can reveal today that new eye-witnesses have emerged in the past few weeks with explosive testimony which raises profound questions about the influence of the House of Windsor and the Establishment over events surrounding the Princess’s death.

These fresh accounts include the astonishing claim that the Queen’s most senior and trusted courtier was seen in Paris, at the British Embassy, half an hour before the crash.

Furthermore, they include a baffling allegation that the RAF crew which flew Tony Blair from his Sedgefield constituency to London to greet the Princess’s repatriated body had been on continual standby to make the flight from two days earlier — when Diana was still alive.

During this investigation, the Mail has also received confirmation that two diplomats working for the secret intelligence service MI6 were operating at the British Embassy in Paris during the weeks before Diana’s death.

These two senior men — who have both enjoyed glittering careers — have admitted their intelligence roles to Lord Stevens, the ex-head of Scotland Yard who is heading the official inquiry into whether there was any conspiracy to murder the Princess.

In the Paris crash, Dodi was killed outright and the Princess was at first thought to have survived. Yet despite attempts by surgeons, she was declared beyond medical help at the Pitie Salpetriere hospital at 4am.

By then, dozens of phone calls had flashed between the British Embassy and Balmoral Castle, the royal retreat in Scotland where the Queen and Diana’s ex-husband, Prince Charles, were holidaying with Princes William and Harry, then aged 15 and 12.

The Queen was the first to be told of the accident, at 2am, when she was woken by her personal page. Still in her dressing gown, she and Prince Philip anxiously paced the tartan-carpeted corridors throughout the night.

Alerted immediately, Prince Charles retired to his private sitting room next to the Queen’s dressing room. There, he made calls and answered those from Paris coming into the castle’s switchboard and his mobile phone.

On the ground floor of the castle, the Queen's deputy private secretary Sir Robin Janvrin based himself in the equerries' room, where he also fielded incoming messages.

Most pertinently, Sir Robin was on duty because his superior — the Queen’s private secretary, Sir Robert Fellowes, a plummy-voiced Old Etonian and Princess Diana's brother-in-law — had taken a weekend's leave.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister, who was in his North-East constituency, is said to have been woken by a call from Sir Michael Jay which had been forwarded by a secure satellite phone via Downing Street.

At first, he was told the Princess had been involved in an accident and then, later, of her death. It was then he began working on that memorable — and apparently impromptu — speech which he delivered several hours later, describing Diana as the 'People's Princess'.

It was a fitting title and one that the millions mourning Diana embraced.

Yet just as the outpouring of grief continued in the days after the crash, so, too, have those nagging doubts — and conspiracy theories — about Diana’s death, which refuse to abate.

As a result, Lord Stevens’s team of ten detectives have interviewed hundreds of people whose lives crossed Diana’s own. Prince Charles has been questioned. Sir Michael Jay, now Permanent Secretary at the Foreign Office, has been asked to outline his role on the night of the crash.

In a dramatic development in recent weeks, Sir Robert Fellowes — now Lord Fellowes — has been asked about his whereabouts during that tragic weekend.

Significantly, the detectives are also planning to speak to Maud Morel-Coujard, the French legal official who oversaw the police operation on the night of the crash. Indeed, she was waiting at the hospital when Diana was brought there by ambulance just after 2am.

She is in a unique position to know exactly what happened and, crucially, her evidence may give credence to the allegations about Lord Fellowes, Mr Blair’s flight and the two spies.

Her recollections may also explain the feverish volume of communications between Paris, London and Scotland that night.

Mme Morel-Coujard is expected to say that some instructions on the treatment of the dying Princess were issued by Sir Michael Jay, who was also at the hospital. He was, in turn, receiving his orders via his mobile from the British Embassy, Balmoral and Downing Street.

Most contentiously, Mme Morel-Coujard will reveal that a decision to embalm Diana's body two hours before it was flown back to England was made by 'the British authorities'. (Indeed, French law explicitly bans the practice if a post-mortem examination is planned. This is because the preserving chemical formaldehyde corrupts toxicology tests, including those for pregnancy.)

Her revelations will stoke the controversy over why Diana’s body should have undergone this process prior to such a key forensic examination, which took place on the Sunday at 8pm at a West London mortuary.

Was it — as some continue to maintain, despite denials — because Diana was pregnant with Dodi’s baby? And did someone want such an embarrassing fact kept secret?

Recently, the notion of Diana being pregnant was vehemently discounted in the Mail on Sunday by Dominic Lawson, the husband of Diana's close friend Rosa Monckton.

He wrote: "It is in a way obscene that such speculation is the subject of a public inquiry (by Lord Stevens)."

He explained his wife had spent a week with Diana before her death and had told Lord Stevens's team that the Princess could not possibly have been pregnant with Dodi's baby.

He added: "Rosa felt obliged to reveal that, when they said goodbye on August 20, 1997, Diana's period had started and therefore it was biologically impossible for her to have been pregnant at the time of her death."

So what evidence has Lord Stevens's investigation uncovered so far? During his three-year inquiry — which has cost £2million — he has let slip little about his findings. But at a book festival last month, he admitted new witnesses had been found who may provide fresh clues.

He is now writing an interim report (it is expected to be finished by September) for the Royal coroner, Michael Burgess, who will hold an inquest next year once Lord Stevens has completed a final analysis that includes the testimony provided by the new eye-witnesses.

The Mail has learned they include two men with extraordinary tales. The first, whom we will call Mr X, was based at the British Embassy in Paris and formerly worked for the Foreign Office in London.

His tantalising evidence emerged only recently through a third party. If true, it will link the Royal Family to events in Paris on the weekend of the Princess’s death.

Mr X is said to be a middle-aged, English wireless operator at the embassy.

He came on duty in the early evening of August 30, expecting his night shift to be routine. From his office in the communications room, encrypted phone calls and messages were sent from the embassy via UK listening stations to Downing Street, the heads of Whitehall departments and, if necessary, senior aides of the Royal Family.

Mr X was proud of his job and is an ardent royalist. However, something unexpected happened that night which he found deeply troubling. He says that just before midnight (as Diana was preparing to leave the Ritz Hotel with Dodi) two well-spoken men burst through the door of the communications room. Described as "public school", they brusquely ordered Mr X to leave his post and not to return until told.

Mr X kept silent about this pertinent episode until 2000 because he had signed the Official Secrets Act.

But then, apparently, he named one of the men to a third party. Exploding with anger, he explained: "It was that b*****d Fellowes. He turfed me out of my own office. He was in Paris the night Diana died."

Of course, Mr X may have been mistaken. Well-spoken Englishmen in smart suits are apt to sound and look very similar. Furthermore, Mr X only saw the two men for a few minutes. But his story, however incredible, is being actively investigated by Lord Stevens and his team.

The Mail understands that in an initial conversation with the Diana squad, Lord Fellowes has said he was enjoying a break at his Norfolk estate with his wife — Diana's sister, Lady Jane Fellowes. He has dismissed the claim he was in Paris that weekend or any part of the night Diana died.

And what of the second new witness, whom we will call Mr Y? He has come forward with a scenario which, if true, will also shed doubt on the official version of Diana's death.

The Mail understands that he was interviewed at length by Lord Stevens's detectives recently. Mr Y was one of the security staff on duty at Tony Blair’s Sedgefield constituency during the weekend that Diana died.

It was one of the first weekends the Labour Prime Minister had spent there with his family since his election. When news arrived overnight that Diana was dead, Mr Blair's weekend, which had been largely free of public engagements, was thrown into disarray.

After delivering his 'People's Princess' tribute, he returned to London to receive Diana's body at Northolt airport at 5pm on the Sunday.

The Prime Minister's wife and their three children were put on a scheduled British Midland flight from Teesside airport at tea-time for them to return to Downing Street. Normally, the Prime Minister would have travelled with them.

But instead, he boarded an RAF plane piloted by a crew based in Scotland which had flown to Teesside. Waiting on the tarmac for Mr Blair was Mr Y.

Idly chatting to the co-pilot, he was told something very strange.

The co-pilot, according to information now with the Diana squad, asked him: "What’s really going on? We’ve been on standby in Scotland since 5pm on Friday waiting to make this flight to Northolt with the Prime Minister."

Incredibly, and if Mr Y’s memory of his conversation with the co- pilot is correct, it would mean that Diana's death was not only expected — it was actually planned.

Yet can that really be true? Or is it just another fantastic conspiracy theory, one of the countless that still surround the Princess's death?

Could Mr Y have perhaps misinterpreted the words of the RAF co-pilot? Or has his memory played tricks about events which happened almost a decade ago?

Mr Y's claim is just one of the many mysteries that are now being unravelled, checked and re-examined by the Diana squad.

Perhaps none of the unanswered questions is more puzzling than the roles of the two MI6 officers who were based at the British Embassy in Paris. Both were listed on the embassy's staff list as diplomats. Yet one had mysteriously only just been posted to the French capital a few days before the crash.

Their names first came to the attention of the Diana squad two years ago when a continuous stream of informants — including one of particular significance because of his position in Britain’s special forces — insisted that the pair were spies who were both implicated in the Princess's death.

Significantly, in one instance, the Diana squad was passed a nine- line note on a flimsy piece of paper purporting to come from an insider at the headquarters of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency. It has been seen by the Mail and names both men.

Then it adds: "If you are brave enough, dig deeper to learn about them. Both MI6. Both were involved at the highest level in the murder of the Princess."

The files at the Diana squad headquarters, of course, are stacked high with such wild allegations from shadowy informants. Many have a habit of being unprovable or are simply the imaginings of over- fertile minds.

However, the Mail has learned that both these men, in their mid-40s, have been interviewed by officers about their movements on the weekend the Princess died. They were given permission to speak about their roles for the first time by the head of MI6, John Scarlett.

The men have produced tickets and documents dating from 1997 which prove they were not in Paris that weekend. One was in the South of France with his wife and in-laws. The other was taking a short trip to Greece.

Both have told Lord Stevens they only returned to the British Embassy, overlooking the eternally fashionable Rue du Faubourg St Honore near the Champs Elysees, after Diana's body had left French soil for England.

That answer may not surprise Lord Stevens. But equally, it won't stop him looking into the matter further. From the start of his inquiry, he promised that his team would "go wherever the evidence takes us" in the quest for the truth about Diana's death.

And, if necessary, that includes the powerful inner sanctums of the British Establishment.

The investigation into the death of Princess Diana, led by former Metropolitan Police Commissioner Lord Stevens, continues to confirm previously known facts and unearth new evidence proving that the August 31st 1997 crash was no accident.

As previously exhaustively documented by this website, the evidence pointing to murder is conclusive.

From the mid 1990's, Diana released a series of audio, videotapes and letters voicing her fears that she would be killed in a car crash made to look like an accident. In one letter, Diana stated, "My husband is planning ‘an accident’ in my car, brake failure and serious head injury in order to make the path clear for Charles to marry”.

A brief summary of the known evidence is as follows.

- The Pont de L'Alma tunnel was crawling with secret service personnel from French and British intelligence. The driver of the Mercedes, Henri Paul is now confirmed as having worked for the French secret service.

- The unscheduled journey through the symbolic Pont de L'Alma tunnel (an ancient Pagan sacrificial site) took Diana and her boyfriend Dodi Al Fayed AWAY FROM their intended destination, Dodi's flat.

- Just before the car entered the tunnel every police radio in Paris mysteriously died, preventing a quick response which could have saved Diana's life.

- Just before the car entered the tunnel every security camera in the tunnel mysteriously died, preventing us from ever seeing footage of what caused the crash.

- Eyewitnesses reported snipers and gunfire within the tunnel.

- The crime scene was completely cleaned within hours of the crash, a policy totally anathema to standard preservation of any crime scene.

- Diana was still alive after the crash. Unexplained delays in getting her to the hospital, caused by the slow speed of the ambulance and the fact that it passed several nearer hospitals before reaching its destination, ensured Diana was dead upon arrival. A faster response could have saved her life.

- The Mercedes used to transport Dodi and Diana from the Ritz was mysteriously swapped for a car that had been stolen only weeks earlier.

- The foremost reason put forward to explain the 'accident' - that driver Henri Paul was dangerously drunk, has been thoroughly debunked by the camera footage of his behavior before the crash and the fact that the tests on Paul's blood were either faked or swapped with the blood of another dead man. Paul's liver showed no sign of alcohol abuse and his close friends and family said he rarely drank alcohol.

- Multiple eyewitnesses reported a mysterious flash of light immediately before the crash. Many insist that this was a laser directed at the driver to cause temporary blindness leading to the crash.

- The initial French investigation into the crash went to every length to ignore key evidence, intimidate eyewitnesses into silence and outright fabricate evidence.

It is important to stress that a detailed compendium of the evidence pointing to murder would fill a book on its own.

Diana was killed because she was pregnant with Dodi's child and the British Royal Family didn't want an Arab in their sacred bloodline. Diana was also becoming politically involved in the Middle East and the elite saw her as a loose cannon that could rally popular support around anything. Diana herself remarked to reporters that there would be 'a big surprise' from her a few days before her death.

Lord Steven's previous enquiry into Irish Republican Army terrorism unearthed links to British intelligence but seemed to disappear down the memory hole. Our hope is that the inquiry will have some genuine consequences for the criminals who assassinated 'England's Rose' and that it will prevent them from engaging in similar political hits in the future.

A bizarre legal loophole in French law enables the authorities to suppress vital evidence.

Since she was killed in the Paris car crash eight years ago, the identities of 24 bodies placed in the same mortuary as the Princess's chauffeur, Henri Paul, have never been revealed.

Sources close to the investigation believe blood from one of the bodies may have been swapped with Paul's to make it appear he had been drinking heavily on the night he drove himself Diana and Dodi Fayed to their deaths.

A Daily Express investigation has heard allegations that secret agents were behind a plan to switch Paul's blood samples with those of a suicide victim, who died in Paris in August, 1997. Yesterday a judicial spokesman admitted that French death certificates do not show a cause of death and that, apart from close family requests, all information remains confidential for 100 years.

"Even if the identities of the others in the morgue were made public, there is no possibility of us knowing how they died," said the spokesman.

In France there is no central registry corresponding to the General Registry Offices in Britain.

Because of the legal technicality, the French authorities can keep information concerning the other 24 bodies secret for another century.

A spokesman for the Paris Medical Institute, which runs the French capital's mortuaries, explained: "Records of anyone who has died in the past 100 years are confidential and can only be shown to family members."

The heavy bureaucracy prompted by France's extremely strict privacy laws, means the truth behind the Princess's death may now remain a secret until 2097.

Swapped

The legal block means that repeated requests for information about the other 24 bodies, both from the al Fayed family and the former Metropolitan Police Commissioner Lord Stevens - who is conducting an inquiry into the deaths of Diana and Dodi Fayed - have fallen on deaf ears.

Last night a spokesman for Mohamed al Fayed in Paris said: "We have struggled for years to establish the identity and cause of death of the 24 other bodies in the morgue that night.

"It cannot be right that no record has been made of their identities or of the causes of their deaths. This just reaffirms our belief that there is an orchestrated cover-up.

"Until anybody can prove otherwise, we believe that Diana was murdered."

Following the Daily Express revelations about Henri Paul's blood tests earlier this week, we asked if readers believed that the authorities were telling the truth about Diana.

Ninety-six per cent of readers said "No", with just four per cent saying "Yes".

Mohamed al Fayed said: "I will fight to my last breath to ver the truth about the death of Diana and my son.

"It was more than just a tragic accident. I take strength from readers poll. They obviously to know the truth as well."

Those who believe that Diana's death was the result of a plot to murder her have questioned French claims that Paul was three times over the drink-driving limit on the night the Princess and Dodi Fayed were killed.

They believe that MI6 agents and their French counterparts played a major role in developments immediately after the crash. The Daily Express revealed earlier this week that Paul's body was taken to the Place Mazas mortuary and placed alongside the other 24 bodies.

It is claimed that blood samples from a suicide victim may have been swapped with Paul's blood on the orders of the security services.

This would explain why the readings for alcohol and carbon monoxide were so high. In addition to the blood-alcohol reading, the tests carried out by forensic toxicologists showed such high levels of carbon monoxide 20.7 per cent - that Paul would have been unable to stand, let alone drive the Princess from the Ritz hotel.

A suicide victim who had drunk a bottle of whisky and then attached a hosepipe to their car exhaust as a' method of killing themselves would have given exactly the same readings in their blood.

Adding weight to the contention of Dodi's father Mohammed that there has been a major cover-up by both MI6 and the French equivalent, the DGSE, the French authorities have repeatedly refused to reveal who the other 24 bodies in the mortuary were.

They have also resisted repeated requests by Paul's family to reveal whether any were suicide victims and the results of any blood tests carried out on them.

Just like Dumblain - the evidence is sealed for 100 years. Don't hold your breath expecting, as the Express suggests, we can bring pressure on the UK government to force the French to reveal the evidence. Those involved are in the highest positions of power, both here and overseas. The spiders web is London!! Nothing will change - this is too big.

Within days of the death of Princess Diana, Conspiracy Nation published an article titled “Who controls Diana, Controls the World.” While most of the world was in shock in the days immediately following the death of Lady Diana, writer Rayelan Allan got right on the story and reported the deeper circumstances. Her blockbuster report, “Who Controls Diana, Controls the World,” was issued only days after the tragic automobile “accident."  It became an instant classic. Within 24 hours of the release of the Rumor Mill News’ story on Diana, the San Francisco Chronicle ran a story in it’s gossip column titled, “Di Charms Windy City – Di in Chi-town.”

The article went on to describe Diana’s visit to Chicago. It also gave the names of two of the three men she had danced with. Phil Donahue and Roger Wilkie were named, but the anonymous third fellow was never named. Who could the anonymous dance partner have been? Bill Clinton? Jay Rockefeller? George W. Bush? Maybe it was a playboy from Hollywood named Emad Fayed. Or could the anonymous suitor have been the handsome publisher of George magazine, the Prince of America, John F. Kennedy, Jr.?

In the June issue of Rumor Mill News we presented an in-depth analysis of the breakup of the marriage of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. In the series of articles, we also presented information showing the connection between the royal family and the international bankers. We discussed the feud between the Rothschilds and the Rockefellers, and we explored the connection between the Rockefeller family and President Bill Clinton. We can summarize by saying that international bankers are trying to merge the U.K. and the U.S. as the first step in creating a New World Order with One Government ruling everything. To accomplish this, they wanted to use Princess Diana and her children; both the born and unborn.

Diana’s “handlers” had decided that her popularity would have brought back the “mythic” Camelot days of the Kennedy years. A Royal Princess in the White House would have been the first step to turning the Presidency into a royal throne perpetuated through bloodline rather than ballot box. By the time William would become King of England, one of Diana’s newly born American children would become an elected official, and well on his or her way to becoming President of the United States.

In the same issue, Rumor Mill News presented the short list of American men that the New World Order had chosen for Diana. Diana would be allowed to choose her new husband from three men that had been handpicked for her. Each man represented a powerful New World Order family: Jay Rockefeller and George W. Bush represented their families respectively. The other candidate was Bill Clinton. All three men were married. Whoever the lucky man was, his wife would have been as unfortunate as her husband was lucky.

Rumors have circulated in Arkansas since the time Bill Clinton’s mother was born that she was the illegitimate daughter of Winthrop Rockefeller. This would explain how a back-water hillbilly from Hope, Arkansas ended up as a Rhodes Scholar, Governor of Arkansas and finally President of the United States. However, Clinton was angry with the Rockefellers because they had chosen to marry a legitimate Rockefeller to Diana. He turned his back on his own blood family, and defected to the enemy camp – the Rothschilds.

Diana had a mind and a heart of her own. The short list of husbands was not agreeable to her. Her first choice for a husband was John F. Kennedy, Jr.

On July 20, 1996, Rumor Mill News received an update from a source in Chicago. We were told that Diana’s visit to the windy city was actually a clandestine meeting with Rothschild bankers. It appeared that the Rothschilds had bought the hand of the princess and would marry her to a man of their choice. Now it became clear why President Clinton had defected and joined the Rothschilds. Would Diana have been happy with Bill Clinton, or was Diana pressuring the Rothschilds to choose John Kennedy, Jr.?

On Tuesday, September 24, 1996, President Clinton was in New York signing the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. This meeting had been planned for months, and the President could not get out of it. Knowing this, Hillary made sure that Princess Diana was invited to the White House on that day. The White House meeting between Hillary and Diana was only two days after the sudden, swift and secret marriage of John F. Kennedy, Jr. to Caroline Bessette. Could Hillary have been afraid that now that JFK, Jr. was no longer available, Diana would settle for Bill?

At the White House breakfast, Hillary told Diana something that made her leave the United States immediately. What could Hillary have told Diana that would have made her turn and run? Maybe Hillary talked about Juanita Broderick, the woman who says Bill Clinton raped her. Maybe Hillary told her how Bill had killed Hillary’s lover, Vince Foster. Diana understood this type of control. She believed Charles had ordered her bodyguard and best friend killed. Whatever Hillary said to Diana at that September White House meeting, Diana left the United States and never returned.

Not only did she never return to the United States, she immediately began a relationship with the son of a powerful man whose disdain for the Royal Family matched her own. An MI-6 document shows that Diana began a relationship with Dodi Al Fayed in November of 1996, just days after the White House meeting with Hillary. Did Diana believe the Al Fayed family was powerful enough to protect her from whatever it was that Hillary had told her?

The MI-6 document is one of several found by Vienna police when, acting on a tip from Mohammed Al Fayed, they arrested long-time CIA operative Oswald LeWinter. LeWinter was charged with trying to extort money from Mohammed Al Fayed for phony documents. Off the record, LeWinter claims the documents are real. He said, “I had a choice at my arrest to identify the documents as genuine or as fakes. If I said genuine I would face charges in the U.S. of high treason... so I said they were forgeries and was arrested for Fraud.”

Even though there were many secret documents in the hotel room where LeWinter was arrested, only one was released to the Vienna newspaper, The Kurier. The MI-6 document reads: “1. Relationship initiated between Diana POW and Dodi aF according to reliable intel sources in November 1996. Intimacy begins shortly after they meet. (Report filed).”

The New World Order and its Opposition

A series of Rumor Mill News articles also covered the origins of the New World Order. We released information that was not widely known about a group of men who opposed the New World Order. This covert group, known only as Faction 2, was/is centered within a group of Austrian and Bavarian royal family members. These men all claim direct descent from one or both of two groups: the original Knights Templars and the Canaris Conspirators.

Admiral Wilhelm Canaris headed the German Abwehr (military intelligence) during WWII. The conspirators who planned the assassination of Adolf Hitler were hidden and/or protected by the Abwehr. After the Hitler assassination attempt failed most of the conspirators were killed. The ones who were not captured made their way to the United States. Others, whose identities were not compromised, such as Kurt Waldheim, stayed in Europe. After the war, some of these men and their children were forced by the U.S. government to work for them, or be turned over to the Israelis to be tried and hung.

The members of the Abwehr who ended up in the United States quickly began to seek out Americans they could trust. One of these Americans was an OSS (Office of Strategic Services – the forerunner to the CIA) man named William Casey. The top men in the OSS came from the East Coast elite establishment. Most were connected with the powerful international banking families who had created the Federal Reserve Banking System. William Casey was a poor Irish Catholic from New York City. Even though he was smarter and more qualified than the rest, he did not have the right pedigree. This was made clear to him, and to many other “poor” boys who tried to be spies. William Casey continued his ties to government intelligence agencies until he became CIA Director under President Reagan.

During Reagan’s Administration a scandal known as Iran/Contra dominated the headlines. One of the top names in the scandal was Adnan Khashoggi. At the time, Khashoggi, an arms dealer, was considered the richest man in the world. His brother-in-law and partner was Mohammed Al Fayed, Dodi’s father.

The connection between Al Fayed and the Iran/Contra scandal was difficult to prove, but Richard Taus, former FBI agent, states that Al Fayed and Khashoggi were connected to the Iran/Contra scandal through Castle Securities. Castle Securities was formerly Drexel Company, which was connected to Drexel, Burnham, Lambert and the junk bonds scandal. Taus states that many people who were involved in Castle Securities were part of a group out of Freeport, Long Island known as the K-Team. Most if not all K-Team members were part of the Iran/Contra scandal. The K-Team had a front operation with a patriotic sounding name: the National Freedom Institute. The K-Team called its operations, “The Enterprise.” (Defrauding America, Rodney Stich, pp. 668-674)

Taus reported that the K-Team was a CIA operation which included many infamous names such as Oliver North, Admiral John Poindexter, Richard Secord, and Adnan Khashoggi. Taus and Stich both state the K-Team was filled with assassins.

At the beginning of the Iran/Contra scandal, Dodi Al Fayed was 24 years old. Many believe that Dodi acted in the capacity of a money launderer by investing the proceeds of his uncle’s illegal arms deals in Hollywood films. During that time, Dodi produced two major hits: “Chariots of Fire” and “The World According to Garp.”

Another interesting aspect to the Iran/Contra scandal happened when Oliver North suggested that his group, i.e. the K-Team, tap U.S. allies for assistance. As Director of Central Intelligence, Casey endorsed the idea and informed Robert “Bud” McFarlane, the National Security Advisor to President Reagan, to seek assistance from South Africa as well as Israel. In 1984, Casey dispatched CIA officer Duane R. “Dewey” Clarridge to South Africa to ask for assistance. (Guts and Glory, Oliver North, p. 193) Princess Diana’s father, Lord Earl Spencer, had business ventures in South Africa. His son, Charles Spencer, was a permanent resident of South Africa.

Lord Earl Spencer was the best friend of Adnan Khashoggi’s brother-in-law, Mohammed Al Fayed. Al Fayed was connected to the K-Team and their “Enterprises” through Castle Securities. The ten year friendship between Lord Spencer and Al Fayed eventually led to the introduction of Al Fayed’s 40 year old son, Emad “Dodi” Al Fayed, to Princess Diana. Mohammed Al Fayed and Adnan Khashoggi had been connected to the K-Team through their business deals. The K-Team was/is made up of CIA operatives who were/are members of Faction 1 – the New World Order, and Faction 2 – the opposition to the NWO. Al Fayed and Khashoggi were connected to the men who make up Faction 2.

Khashoggi, Al Fayed and many other members of Faction 2 are Muslims. Since Israel is allied with the New World Order, the enemies of Israel are natural allies of Faction 2. In reference to the MI-6 document, Mohammed Al Fayed has been quoted as saying, “I intend to establish the truth behind the tragic events in Paris last August. MI-6 Director David Spedding is named in one telex and a squad from the Israeli secret service Mossad, referred to as the “K-Team,” appears in another.” Al Fayed has to know that the K-Team referred to in the MI-6 document was not Israeli. Why did he place the blame on the Israelis? Did he hope to gain help from former allies in the old K-Team? The MI-6 document seized by Vienna police and published in the London Mirror reads in full as follows:

When Al Fayed saw this document, which Oswald LeWinter tried to sell him, he had to have known that the CIA was involved in the death of his son Dodi and Princess Diana. Al Fayed was connected to the CIA K-Team that was mentioned in the MI-6 document. Number 5 on the MI-6 document states that the White House, meaning President Clinton, denied Spedding’s request. What had David Spedding requested? Number 4 from the MI-6 document tells us: “4. US liaison to MI-6 requested by David Spedding for assistance in providing permanent solution to Dodi problem. Blessing of Palace secured. (Twiz filed).”

David Spedding, head of MI-6, was requesting assistance from the United States in finding a permanent solution to the Dodi problem. The term “permanent solution” is a common Intelligence Community euphemism for murder. Even though the White House did not approve Spedding’s request for a US liaison to MI-6 for the purpose of murdering Dodi, the White House did arrange a successful meeting with K-Team members in Geneva.

Evidently, the Geneva K-Team members acted as independent contractors and picked up the “contract” on Dodi. It is a common practice for CIA agents to act as “independent contractors” so they can not be traced back to the CIA and to the United States. According to the MI-6 document, the K-Team stole one of Al Fayed’s limos and began to make plans for Dodi’s murder. The Limo was fitted with electronics that allowed it to be remote controlled.

Diana fled from her White House meeting with Hillary and went directly to Mohammed Al Fayed. Had Diana’s father told her to seek out Mohammed Al Fayed if she ever needed help or protection? If Lord Spencer was involved in business with Al Fayed and the K-Team, then Spencer would believe that Al Fayed had the means of protecting Diana. Even Lord Spencer’s widow went to work for Al Fayed at Harrod’s Department Store.

Al Fayed saw the benefits of a union between Princess Diana and his son Dodi. Had Diana married Dodi, she would have learned everything about the NWO from a group of men who were the age-old enemies of the NWO and the British Throne. Diana would have become the #1 enemy of her former in-laws. Both the NWO and the Palace were afraid that Diana could expose them to the world. When the NWO discovered Diana had sought out the Al Fayeds for protection and was planning to marry Dodi, they knew they had to do something so evil and so monstrous that Diana would fall in line and never again try to defy them. At this point, they still needed her to unite Britain and the U.S. as the first step to a One World Government.

The men who planned the assassination of Dodi knew Diana was pregnant and would be marrying Dodi as soon as possible. They needed to act fast, before Diana and Dodi were married and living in the Paris Windsor Palace owned by Al Fayed. According to renegade MI-6 agent Richard Tomlinson:

Ritz security boss Henri Paul, who drove the death car, was an MI-6 informer paid to spy on Diana and Dodi. The Diana crash was chillingly similar to a previous MI-6 plot. That plot was to assassinate the Serbian leader Slobodan Milosevic in Geneva using a powerful laser strobe light—similar to that described by witnesses to the Paris crash—to blind the driver.

Richard Tomlinson lived in Geneva. The assassination plan that Tomlinson claims was “appropriated” to use on Dodi had been created in Geneva. The K-Team that was enlisted by MI-6 was also in Geneva. Tomlinson further states:

I was shown a document proposing an assassination of President Milosevic of Serbia. The plan was to use a strobe light to blind his driver as he went into a road tunnel in Geneva. When I heard witnesses in Paris talk about a bright flash before Diana’s car crash, it made sense. A tunnel is a perfect place for an assassination, with fewer witnesses. The Paris tunnel is also ideal because there are no crash rails along the central pillars, so it’s a death trap.

Tomlinson says his claims about MI-6 involvement in Diana’s death will shock the world. This sounds uncannily similar to the statement made by CIA operative Oswald LeWinter that, “The true facts about the murder of Diana would shake the World to its foundations, since it involves a number of governments and more than a number of intelligence services.”

The Mercedes that Diana and Dodi were using on the night of August 30, 1997 had been stolen five months earlier, on April 20th. This meant that the accident had been planned for at least five months. But who had planned it? As Diana told her therapist: “One day I’m going to go up in a helicopter, and it’ll just blow up. MI5 will do away with me.” (Diana On The Edge, Chris Hutchins & Dominic Midgely) Diana knew that the Palace thought she was a “loose cannon,” and she was certain they were not beyond murdering her.

The MI-6 document shows that Prime Minister Tony Blair, the Palace and Prince Phillip – the Duke of Edinburgh – were seriously concerned about the relationship between Diana and Dodi. They believed it was politically disastrous and could threaten the dynasty. As this document states:

Richard Tomlinson has also stated:

There’s an arrogant faction inside MI-6, part of the Eton/Oxford/Guards clique, who see themselves literally as defenders of the realm—and for them, that means the royals. When Di broke up with Charles, she immediately became the enemy. When she started a romance with Dodi Al Fayed, that raised an even more terrifying spectre.

What if she’d married him and turned Muslim? What if they’d had children? The thought of Prince William, the future King of England, with a brown-skinned Muslim half-brother or sister was the worst possible scenario for them. In their eyes, Diana would single-handedly destroy the fabric of the nation they (MI-5 and MI-6) were pledged to defend.

Backed by the Al Fayed millions, she could have set up a glittering rival court which would have made Buckingham Palace pale by comparison. She would have become the people’s Queen, so she had to go.

Mohammed Al Fayed had recently purchased the Paris Chateau previously owned by the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. This was the wedding gift he was going to give to Diana and Dodi. Tomlinson was right, the Paris Court of Diana and Dodi would have out-shined anything England could offer. Prince Phillip realized that his grandsons, William and Harry, would probably prefer spending time in Paris with their mother. This means that his grandsons would be influenced by “the son of a bedouin camel trader,” one that happened to be aligned with the age old enemies of the present British Throne. As Tomlinson says of the Palace:

The thinking would go like this: after Diana’s death the spotlight would turn back to the Palace, as it has; Prince Charles’ popularity rating would start to climb as he wins back public sympathy, and it has done. And, importantly, Prince William will be firmly under Palace control. Mission accomplished. No Di, no rival court. Monarchy secure.

If Richard Tomlinson lived in Geneva and was an MI-6 agent, then he probably knew the K-Team that lived in Geneva. Tomlinson has never said that Dodi, not Diana, was the target of the assassination team. Nowhere in the original MI-6 document does it say anything about killing Diana. What they had in mind for her would have been far worse than death.

Since Tomlinson believes that Diana was also the target, it appears that sometime in the two and a half months between the writing of the MI-6 document on June 17, 1997 and the assassination on August 30, 1997 a new plan was filed. Possibly this new plan was in one of the many CIA documents found in Oswald LeWinter’s Vienna hotel room. Because of Tomlinson’s connection to the K-Team in Geneva, perhaps he knew that the plan had been changed.

The Mossad Connection

In a book called Gideon’s Spies, the claim is made that a Mossad agent named Maurice was in Paris at the Ritz Hotel trying to recruit the chauffeur, Henri Paul, on the very day the accident occurred. Henri Paul, the driver, was killed instantly. This book further states:

In July 1998, Mohammed Al Fayed asked a number of questions in a letter he sent to every one of Britain’s members of Parliament, urging them to raise the questions in the House of Commons. He claimed that ‘there is a force at work to stifle the answers I want.’ His behavior was seen as the reaction of a grieving father lashing out in every direction. The questions deserve repeating, not because they shed any light on the role Mossad played in the closing weeks of Henri Paul’s life, but because they show how the entire tragedy has gained a momentum that only the true facts can stop.

Al Fayed wrote of a “plot” to get rid of Diana and his son and attempted to link all kinds of disparate events with his questions: “Why did it take one hour and forty minutes to get the princess to hospital? Why have some of the photographers failed to give up some of the pictures they shot? Why was there a break-in that night at the London home of a photographer who handles paparazzi pictures? Why have all the closed-circuit television cameras in that part of Paris produced not one frame of videotape? Why were the speed cameras on the route out of film, and the traffic cameras not switched on? Why was the scene of the crash not preserved but reopened to traffic after a few hours? Who was the person in the press group outside the Ritz who was equipped like a news photographer? Who were the two unidentified men mingling in the crowd who later sat in the Ritz bar? They ordered in English, watching and listening in a marked way?

Gideon’s Spies seems to be a clever way of sowing disinformation and covering the tracks of any Mossad agents who happened to have been involved in the murder of Dodi and Diana.

At the top of the MI-6 document the sources for the information are listed. One is a British citizen named Ken Etheridge. Ken Etheridge worked for one of Mohammed Al Fayed’s enemies, Tiny Rowlands, who financed Allan Frankovich’s film “The Maltese Doublecross,” about the downing of Pan Am 103. Rowlands financed the film for two reasons. One, he felt that he could drag Muslim terrorists and arms dealers into the film and thereby taint Al Fayed who was involved with arms dealers. The second reason was purely business. Rowlands wanted to get in good with Colonel Gaddaffi in order to obtain mining concessions near the Chad border.

Rowlands sent Ken Etheridge to Spain to supervise the filming of DIA whistle-blower Les Coleman. Coleman stated that it was not the Libyans who downed Pan Am 103, it was Palestinian terrorists who were paid by Iran. This information put Rowlands in high regard with Colonel Gaddaffi. According to CIA sources:

Etheridge was an Asset of MI-6 who had investigated Al Fayed some years back and who gave the CIA information about Al Fayed’s weapons deals with his brother-in-law, Adnan Khashoggi. Etheridge’s involvement with the Diana business is a round-about one in that he informed the CIA of the extent of Al Fayed’s intrigues concerning his desire for a Dodi-Diana Union to the British Establishment, who has refused to grant Al Fayed citizenship for over thirty years.

Early Reports State Diana Was Out of the Car

Early television coverage of the accident stated that Diana was out of the car and walking around. The first reports to be seen on television said that Diana was “out of the car” ... “conscious” ... “suffering from a broken arm, a cut on her hip & a possible concussion.” These reports stated that her injuries were “not potentially life threatening, but serious.” These reports are part of an article by Sabre called, “Diana, Accident or Murder?” Sabre began taping at approximately 12:35 a.m. from a satellite feed, shortly after the first bulletin aired. Initial reports were from the BBC and SKY. These remarks and the photos that were aired with them have never been reported since.

Documents in the possession of the CIA state most of what has been laid out above. These documents were summarized for me by a CIA operative. In addition to stating many things that have been in the pubic domain for years, the documents also state the following. Some of the following information is so disturbing that it has taken me two full years to verify it and finally write about it.

• The target on the evening of August 30, 1997 was Dodi Al Fayed. The Palace had given its blessing for the elimination of Dodi Al Fayed, the father of the child Diana was carrying.

• The Palace assumed Diana was about three months pregnant.

• The original plan called for the death of Dodi AND an abortion for Diana!

• The Palace ordered an abortion using the D&C method. It was performed in the ambulance while it was parked for nearly an hour, on the side of the street, on the way to the hospital.

• The abortion was completed, but the loss of blood was too great and the advanced damage to internal organs was irreversible.

• Diana died of blood loss caused by an abortion – NOT from a torn heart!

• The coverup of the truth was ordered by Bernadette Chodron de Courcel, the wife of President Chirac, who was informed immediately and sped to the hospital. Mme Chodron de Courcel is the power of Opus Dei in France.

• To insure that Dodi died in the crash, the K-Team had one of their “specialists” positioned inside the Pont de L’Alma tunnel. He was the one who reached into the car, as if he was checking to see if Dodi was alive. It is not known if Dodi was alive or dead when the “specialist” broke his neck. As he emerged from the car, he shook his head to let the members of his team, who were disguised as photographers, know that the deed was done. Dodi was dead.

• There is a photograph of the “specialist.” It has been published in one of the tabloids, however, its significance was not known at the time.

• Diana was alive. She was outside the car, walking. She knew Dodi was dead. When the ambulance arrived, Diana stepped into it herself. There is a photograph which shows her sitting inside the ambulance. She looks fine.

While it is suspected that whoever performed the abortion was ordered to cause her death, this has not been confirmed. CIA sources state that the Palace did not want her dead. The Palace still hoped to use her to reunite Britain and the United States. The Palace also knew that secrets like this cannot be kept. If the Palace was involved in the murder of Diana, her two loving sons would eventually find this out. It was all right if William and Harry knew that the Palace, meaning their Grandparents, had ordered the death of their mother’s Egyptian boyfriend. They knew they could make the boys understand why they did it. But the Palace could never make Prince William and Prince Harry understand why their mother had to be killed.

If the Palace did not want her dead then who ordered it? And why? CIA sources have speculated that one or two men in powerful behind-the-scenes positions decided on their own that Diana was too much of a “loose cannon” to be trusted. These men decided it would be easier to control her if she was dead. Therefore, they arranged her death, so they could use her image to create a new world religion through which they could control the world.•

Excerpt from a 5-14-98 London Mirror story by Oonagh Blackman...

This is one of the five secret papers put up as proof that Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed were murdered. It is part of the amazing dosier offered for 10 million (Pound Sterling...about $16 million dollars) to Dodi's father, Harrod's owner Mohammed Al Fayed, and now obtained by the Mirror. Mr. Fayed believes the Diana papers, said to originate from the US Central Intelligence Agency, back his conviction that the British establishment masterminded a conspiracy against his son and the Princess. But despite repeated requests, the CIA has refused to say whether the documents are genuine. Mr. Al Fayed said yesterday, "I intend to establish the truth behind the tragic events in Paris last August." "We are still waiting for the CIA to pronounce on the authenticity of the documents." One file headed "Foreign Intelligence Information Report" contains comments attributed to the Duke Of Edinburgh and the Prime Minister about the 'disastrous' relationship between Dodi and Diana. It highlights a request from the security service MI6 for a "permanent solution to the Dodi problem" and details plans to sabotage an Al Fayed Mercedes - "stolen and returned with electronics missing." The report is dated June 17, 1997, just over three weeks before Diana and Dodi began their fateful romance aboard a yacht in the Mediterranean. MI6 Director David Spedding is named in one telex and a squad from the Israeli secret service Mossad, referred to as the "K-Team", appears in another. The Diana Papers are littered with codes and abbreviations.

Seized

They were seized in an Amsterdam hotel room three weeks ago when Mr. Al Fayed's security chief, backed by two FBI agents, met a middleman who was demanding 10 million (Pound Sterling) for them. The intermediary, 67 year old Oswald LeWinter, was arrested and is now in solitary confinement in a Vienna police cell.

WAS DIANA MURDERED?

Leading conspiracy theorists now rank the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, with the assassinations of former US president, John F. Kennedy and Beatles legend, John Lennon. The obfuscation and confusion surrounding the untimely and unfortunate death is cited as circumstantial proof that Diana and her companion, Egyptian millionaire, Dodi al-Fayed were assassinated in an automobile accident.

Conspiracy theorists are not alone in their beliefs that Diana and Dodi were the victims of an assassination plot. The Arab media, leading Egyptian newspapers, and Libyan leader, Muammar Qadhafi have weighted in with accusations that the automobile accident was caused by foul play at the behest of the British establishment.

The main Egyptian news agency, MENA suggested that foul play was responsible for the death of the glamorous couple and their driver. "The scenario of the events and racist (verbal) attacks which preceded the accident suggest that it could have been a plot," it said.

Anis Mansour, offering no substantiation, put it directly in the Cairo daily Al-Ahram: "She was killed by British intelligence to save the monarchy.... Nobody since Cromwell, who called for a republic in the 17th Century, has been able to shake the royal family as Princess Diana did."

Speaking about the tragedy, Libyan leader, Muammar Qadhafi said: "The world has to be really naive to believe that the crash which happened two days ago was accidental." The Libyan Human Rights Commission is quoted as saying "Only children believe it was an accident".

A poll conducted in the West Bank showed that 47 per cent of readers of Palestinian papers were certain that the Paris car accident had been engineered.

Conspiracy theories are also circulating in countries "friendly" to Britain. Kuwait’s daily newspaper Al-Siyassah put it in deliberately vague terms: "The Diana-Dodi relationship embarrassed the dignity of the British lion". Sultan Hattab, a columnist wrote in the Jordan daily Al-Rai "There is a viewpoint that suggests the death of the Princes was engineered".

Alex Salmond, leader of the Scottish National Party during a tribute to Diana’s "common touch", stated that "she had enemies in the establishment, and perhaps in death, they will now accord her some of the respect and compassion which they refused her in life".

The friendship between Diana and Dodi publicly bridged the gap between different faiths and different cultures. Dodi and Diana symbolised the union of the Muslim and Christian world, which may have been too much for the establishment to bear.

There is widespread speculation that Dodi and Diana were to be married. This event would have had major implications for the Royal family. Diana may have converted to Islam. The future king (and future head of the Church of England) would have had a step father who was an Arab, and possibly a half brother of Arab descent.

According to Dodi’s step uncle, Hussein Yassin, the couple were to be married. Yassin says he spoke to Dodi about their engagement four hours before the Paris accident which claimed their lives.

The al Fayed family spokes-person, Michael Cole confirmed that Dodi had given Diana a $200 000 diamond solitaire ring hours before she died and said gifts from Diana to Dodi had been found among his effects.

"What that ring meant we shall probably never know, if the planet lasts for another thousand years, people will still wonder about its significance", Cole is quoted as saying.

THE AL FAYEDS

Dodi al Fayed was the Egyptian-born heir to the billion-dollar Harrods fortune. Dodi, (whose name is a diminutive of Emad, meaning "someone you can count on"), was the only son of Mohamad al Fayed, and his late first wife Samira Khashoggi, sister of Saudi international arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi.

Mohamad al Fayed has lived in England for 20 years, his four children of his second marriage are all British citizens. Al Fayed bought Harrods in 1984, sinking $500 million into the store and donating generously to British charities. He was a friend of Diana’s father, the late Lord Spencer, and employs Diana’s stepmother Raine, Countess de Chambrun as director of Harrods International, the store’s duty free arm. Al Fayed sponsors the Royal Windsor Horse Show, at which he shares the Queen’s box.

Mohamed al Fayed has gone to great lengths to prove his place in Britain. He persuaded his friend, the Sultan of Brunei to buy a fleet of helicopters from a British firm and he helped save the pound from severe devaluation, by getting the Sultan to keep some of his billions in pounds, rather than dollars.

<But despite Mohamad al Fayed’s wealth, prestigious holdings and good works, he has always been repulsed by British Society. For years, the British government has denied his requests for citizenship without explanation.

Recently, Mohamad al Fayed got a measure of revenge against the Conservative Party which he particularly blamed for his rejection. Al Fayed is credited with helping bring down John Major’s government. Before the last election, he disclosed that Tory members of parliament took money from him in paper bags or accepted his hospitality at the Ritz Hotel in Paris in exchange for political influence. The MPs accepted cash and perks in return for asking questions about Mohamed al Fayed’s rejected citizenship applications. At least six conservative politicians had to step down after the "cash for questions" drama unfolded.

DIANA, PRINCESS OF WALES

To her friends and supporters, Diana was a great humanitarian and a devoted mother. To her establishmentarian enemies, she was a most dangerous loose cannon. As the mother of the future king of England, she could not be completely ignored. Diana was a superstar who promised to lead the royal family into the 21st Century, while also threatening the very survival of the royal family, whose public popularity recently slumped to an all time low of 47 per cent.

The House of Windsor, scandalised and battle scarred, suffered a humiliating defeat when Diana and Charles divorced in 1996. The royal family had been rocked by the disintegrating marriage of Diana and Charles, a husband whose affections still belonged to another woman, Camilla Parker Bowles. In keeping with tradition, it would have been Diana’s duty to remain silent about Charles adultery, in return for the advantages and notoriety that royalty offered. But Diana was a contemporary woman, who fought for her rights.

In November 1995, Diana gave a television interview without the knowledge of her advisers or the Queen. During this interview, Diana revealed how unhappy she was and how she had developed the eating disorder bulimia. She also described the aides of the royal family as her enemies.

After a much publicised divorce in 1996, Diana was finally free from the constraints and restrictions placed upon her by the royal family. Diana was becoming radicalised. As a single woman, she commanded power and intelligence. She strengthened her own circle of influential support, and was champion of several controversial causes such as the Halo foundation, which campaigned against the use of anti personnel land mines.

Diana had travelled to war torn Bosnia and Angola as part of her campaign against anti-personnel land mines. She died on the eve of an Oslo conference which saw 100 countries try to agree on a world wide treaty to ban the use of the said weapons.

It has been widely reported that William Hague, leader of Britain’s Conservative Party was curiously unmoved by Diana’s death. In a speech praising Diana’s achievements he suspiciously omitted her campaign against landmines.

Diana was reportedly considering taking part in a factual documentary about Iraq. Richard Moore, writing in Cyber Journal says, "Diana was indeed very close to committing to what would have been an extremely provocative documentary regarding Iraq.... I see this as being much more threatening to New World Order elite interests than the 'humiliated royals angle' — and more likely to have been the root cause of any foul play", Moore says.

The documentary was being researched by Parveez Syed, of Shanti TV, and detailed the abominable impacts of post gulf war economic sanctions, including the starvation of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi infants.

THE PAPARAZZI — LEE HARVEY OSWALDS OF 1997?

Initially, the paparazzi were blamed for hounding Diana to her death. It now appears that it was pre-emptive to blame the paparazzi per se. Apparently, they were riding little more than what can be called "hair dryers", and not high speed motorbikes, as first claimed. Nine photographers and one motorcycle courier are under formal investigation for manslaughter and failure to help people in danger. They have not yet been formally charged. French police decided to develop the paparazzi photographs taken from the accident scene, but have not revealed what the photographs show.

The first at the scene of the accident was Romuld Rat, a paparazzo, who opened the back door of the Mercedes where Diana had been sitting, and claims to have placed a finger on her neck to see if there was a pulse. At that moment, he heard someone behind him shouting "I’m a doctor, please make way". Frederic Mailliez, an off duty doctor had been driving by and had stopped to assist.

WAS HENRI PAUL ANOTHER JACK RUBY?

In the media feeding frenzy that followed the fatal accident, the paparazzi were put in the spotlight. Key political and celebrity figures took up the gauntlet, calling for a tightening of media and privacy laws. But the focus of inquiries quickly turned from the paparazzi to Henri Paul, the al Fayed chauffeur, who was also killed in the crash.

Blood samples taken from Paul, allegedly show that he had consumed the equivalent of 1 and a half bottles of wine or three times the French drink drive limit (twice the British drink drive limit).

Further blood samples taken at the request of the Paul family confirmed that Paul had 1.73 grams of pure alcohol per litre of blood. Pauls’ blood tests also indicated the presence of the anti depressant drug Prozac, and lesser quantities of Tiapride Hydrochloride, a drug that is often used to fight depression.

In a rare official statement, the prosecutors’ office said blood tests showed Paul had taken fluoxetine — an anti depressant best known under the name Prozac and a sedative called Tiapride that inhibits agitated or aggressive behaviour. "Drivers are urged to exercise prudence in the utilisation of both medications", the statement said.

The common side effects of Prozac include nausea, drowsiness, sweating, tremor, tiredness, dry mouth and sleeplessness. Unusual side effects include blurred vision, fever, heart palpitations and sweating. Alcohol is not advised when taking Prozac.1

The morning before the accident, Paul had played tennis with an old school friend, Claude Garrec. At 11am, they left the tennis club and drove to a local bar. According to Garrec, Paul drank Coca Cola.

Around 12.30 Garrec dropped Paul off at home, and asked if he would come over as usual that Saturday night for a seafood dinner. Paul told Garrec not to expect him, and said that he had important work to do, and wasn’t sure when he would be finished.

Paul’s activities in the hours which followed are now the subject of intense investigation. At 7.05pm on August 30, Paul came off duty from the Ritz. At 10pm, Paul took a call on his mobile telephone and returned to the hotel at 10.08pm.

It is unknown what Paul did between going off duty at 7.05pm and being called back to the hotel at 10.08pm. The call was made to Paul’s mobile phone, and records could be checked to verify what vicinity or "cell" the mobile phone was in. Was Paul at home? Was he on the road? He must have been close by to the Ritz, as it took him less than 10 minutes to get to work after the call.

With the confirmation that Paul was drunk at the time of the accident, the rumour mill activated at high speed. Reports claimed that Paul was a heavy drinker, an alcoholic; but a 60 page autopsy report on Paul showed no liver damage of the kind associated with long-term alcoholism.

TREVOR REES-JONES

The BBC initially described Rees-Jones as "British Special Branch". The story of Rees-Jones’ identity then changed, with the media reporting him as an al Fayed security man, or body guard. Rees-Jones’ identity changed for a third time when he became Diana’s Bodyguard.

Trevor Rees-Jones is a 29 year old ex paratrooper, who suffered critical injuries in the accident. According to newspaper reports, Rees-Jones underwent hours of facial reconstructive surgery. This follows a number of early reports which claimed that Rees-Jones had to have his tongue removed, and another which declared that Rees-Jones was suffering from amnesia due to shock, coupled with the massive doses of anaesthetic necessary for his reconstructive surgery. This conjecture certainly would not have helped Rees-Jones’ speedy recovery. Rees-Jones has now been taken off the critical list, and he is able to communicate. He has divulged several important facts about a second car involved in the accident.

THE SECOND CAR?

Authorities investigating the car crash now believe that a second car, possibly a black or dark blue Fiat Uno was involved in the accident. Parts of a tail light and traces of paint found at the scene do not belong to the Mercedes that carried Diana and Dodi. Traces of paint were found on a side-view mirror of the Mercedes. Investigating judge, Herve Stephan, has asked police to re-examine more paint found on the wall inside the tunnel to see if it matches the Mercedes.

Trevor Rees-Jones, the sole survivor of the crash has told authorities that the Mercedes was being followed by another vehicle on the night of the tragedy. According to Rees-Jones two motorbikes and one car followed the Mercedes. Rees-Jones has told investigators "I do not remember the route. It seems to me that there was one white car with a boot which opened at the back", he added.

The Guardian newspaper reported that police had evidence that the Mercedes hit a Fiat Uno about 60m from the crash site in the Paris underpass.

An Associated Press report on September 21, 1997 quotes Gary Hunter, a partner in a London law firm saying he was watching TV when he heard an almighty crash at 13:25am. "I heard the screeching of tyres, I saw a small dark car turning the corner at the top of the road....my own feeling is that these were people in a hurry not to be there. I am confident that the car was getting off the scene....it looked sinister," Hunter said.

THE MYSTERIOUS AMERICAN

As previously discussed, the first person on the scene of the accident was Romuld Rat, a paparazzo. Rat parked his bike in front of the wreck, then ran back towards it, taking several pictures. As he got closer to the car, he saw the blood-drenched face of Rees-Jones. In the back seat was Dodi, clearly dead. Rat said his body was "twisted like a rag doll". Other reports locate Dodi’s body thrown some distance outside the wrecked car.

Shortly after Rat arrived on the scene, Freideric Mailliez, the off duty doctor arrived. So far, only one media report, "Diana’s Last Hours", produced by the BBC has mentioned and interviewed Mailliez’ American companion, Mark Butt, who was travelling with him at the time. In the television interview, Butt came across as articulate and well spoken, with a distinct recollection of the events of the Sunday morning tragedy.

Another group of Americans, Jack Firestone, his wife Robin and their 12 year old son were returning to their hotel early Sunday after a day of sightseeing when their taxi stopped briefly by the demolished Mercedes. Firestone says that the paparazzi swarmed the Mercedes wreck like "sharks after raw meat". The Long Island residents didn’t realise who was in the car until they woke up later on Sunday. They then went to the police to tell them what they saw. Other American "tourists" interviewed on CNN say they heard an explosion and then a crash inside the tunnel.

ARE SECRET SERVICE FACTIONS SUSPECT?

The Arab press and many internet conspiracy sites now maintain that a faction of British intelligence had a hand in the fatal crash.

There is little doubt that British intelligence had an active interest in the activities of Diana. It has been widely alleged that the infamous "Squidge Tapes", revealing an intimate conversation between Diana and a former lover, were leaked by a faction within MI5.

The magazine New Weekly recently reported the discovery of surveillance cameras that had been placed in Dodi’s apartment on London’s Park Lane to capture the couples intimate moments. The article says that Diana was convinced that the British secret service branch MI5 was behind the bugging of Dodi’s apartment. The allegation adds weight to a claim Diana made after the MI5 bugging scandal, that she was "bugged and spied upon day and night" by British secret security services.

SOME ANOMALIES

* Initial reports from the police said the car’s speedometer was frozen at 196kph. But later the story changed to reveal the speedo read zero.

* The paparazzi were prime suspects for accident, then Henri Paul became the suspect, now attention has turned to the occupants of the black Fiat Uno.

* French authorities will not disclose what the confiscated rolls of paparazzi film show.

* The Mercedes suffered two impacts inside the tunnel. The first impact was with the third tunnel pillar. The Mercedes then rolled forward another 10 pillars, impacting with the 13th pillar.

* Some witnesses claim that there was a liquid or substance on the road where the Mercedes impacted with the 13th pillar, but this could have been fluid from the Mercedes itself.

* French authorities still have not released information from a speed camera and a radar trap at the entrance to the tunnel where the accident took place.

* It took 15 minutes before amb-ulances arrived on the scene, as the fire brigade had been called initially.

* After giving Diana blood transfusions and other emergency care on the spot, she was transferred to the ambulance. Emergency workers ordered the ambulance to go slowly and to avoid bumps. The six mile trip to the Pitie-Salpetriere Hospital in eastern Paris took an hour, so long that French Interior Minister Jean-Pierre Chevenement and Paris police chief Philippe Massoni feared the ambulance had got lost en route.

* A further delay occurred less than a mile from the hospital when the ambulance crew ordered the vehicle to stop so that they could inject a massive dose of adrenaline into Diana’s heart, which had stopped beating.

* Why did no one notice that Henri Paul was drunk. If he was 3 times over the French drink drive limit, surely security, and in particular a bodyguard, would have noticed.

* Mohamed al Fayed, through his spokesperson Michael Cole, says he was approached by an emergency or hospital worker who passed on information about Diana’s last words. Diana’s mother, Frances Shand Kydd, denies Diana said anything.

* Why did Trevor-Rees Jones fasten his seat belt seconds before the accident? Bodyguards ready for action do not normally wear seat belts.

* Why weren’t Dodi and Diana wearing seat belts?

* Trevor Rees-Jones has told investigators that two motorbikes and one car followed the Mercedes. He said that there was one white car with a boot that opened at the back. What of this white car? Did the boot open up, did someone throw something at the Mercedes, causing an explosion and a crash?

* Some witnesses report the sound of an explosion, then the sound of a crash. Another witness says there was a flash of light in the tunnel.

* The Mercedes-Benz S280 that was involved in the fatal crash was stolen and disappeared for a week last year. During that time, its engine and computerised brake and engine management system were removed. Skid marks were found on the road where the accident occurred. The Mercedes had an ABS (anti locking brake system) fitted, meaning there should be no skid marks.

* No autopsy was done before Diana was flown home to England for burial because she was not directly involved in the cause of the accident. Dodi was buried the day after the accident, according to Muslim custom. There was no autopsy.

THE ESOTERIC ASPECT

Just a few weeks before her death, Diana and Dodi made a highly publicised visit to clairvoyant Rita Rogers at her northern England home in Chesterfield.

Diana occasionally consulted astrologers and psychics. Debbie Frank, Diana’s own personal astrologer for the last eight years, is reported as saying: "although I would never have predicted her death we did talk about death a great deal. She said to me that only when people were dying could they be absolutely honest".

Eight months before the tragic accident, Hassan Charni, a top Arabic astrologer predicted the August tragedy. The popular Tunisian clairvoyant, forecast Diana’s life would be tragically cut short. In a round up of predictions for the coming year, 1997, the Arabic newspaper, Essarih published Hassan’s prediction: "Princess Diana’s death, despite her youth, will be the most important event in Great Britain in 1997. The scandals of her love affairs will end in tragedy. Diana will die and all those scandals will be buried", Charni stated.

Diana also made a self prophesying statement. An article in the Washington Post on Saturday August 9, 1997, quotes Diana from the tabloid newspaper The Sun, as saying "Dodi is the man who will take me out of one world into another."

FOOTNOTE

1. A severe reaction has been reported in people taking fluoxetine (Prozac) and other types of anti depressant drugs, known as mono-amine oxidase inhibitors. According to medical journals, fluoxetine and mono-amine oxidase inhibitors should not be given together, nor commenced while there is any residue of either in the body. To date, this author is unable to establish whether Tiapride is a mono-amine oxidase inhibitor.

Royal butler Paul Burrell today opens the palace doors on his sensational one-to-one summit with the Queen.

 

Speaking for the first time, he gives a remarkable insight into the three-hour meeting with the Queen at Buckingham Palace, which led to the collapse of his Old Bailey trial last week.

 

He tells how the Queen warned him about how his unique closeness to Princess Diana left him exposed to people who wished him harm.

 

Paul also tells how the Queen was desperate to build bridges with Diana before she died.

 

She told him: "I tried reaching out to her so many times".

 

The Mirror also reveals full details of Paul's statement to the police, who questioned him over items they claimed he had stolen from the princess.

 

Recalling the Queen's warning to him, Paul, 44, said: "The Queen said 'Nobody, Paul has been as close to a member of my family as you have. There are powers at work in this country about which we have no knowledge'.

 

"She did not quantify it but she told me to be careful.

 

"She looked at me over her half-rimmed spectacles as if she expected me to know the rest.

 

"She fixed me with her eye and made sure I knew she was being deadly serious.

 

"I had no idea who she was talking about. There were many she could have been referring to. But she was clearly warning me to be vigilant."

 

PAUL went on: "I had known her privately and personally for many years as her footman. I'd seen her stare at people before. I knew all her secrets and I knew how she liked to handle people. I knew what all her stares meant.

 

"I was left in no doubt what this one meant. She meant: 'Be careful Paul...' "

 

He added: "She wanted me to make sure my wife Maria and children remained safe. It was not a threat, it was sound advice. She had my interests at heart."

 

Paul said the Queen's warning came out of the blue. "No-one had never warned me like that.

 

"It made me suddenly realise the magnitude of the situation. It was obviously much, much bigger than I had ever thought."

 

Paul recalls precisely what was said between them at the meeting when he told the Queen he was keeping safe certain items from Kensington Palace.

 

He told her: "I intend to protect the princess's world and keep safe her secrets and I intend to keep documents and artefacts which she had given to me."

 

Paul told the Mirror: "Her Majesty listened to what I had to say. She understood what I had to say. She did not object."

 

That conversation, on a cold November day two months after Diana's death in 1997, was the one the Queen recalled - the one that destroyed the case of Regina v Paul Burrell.

 

Paul said: "I had always wondered why...why was the Royal Family not defending me? I had two years of thinking I had been abandoned, wondering why they were letting this case happen."

 

Paul then broke down as he said: "I thought I was being fed to the lions. I just felt as if I was being persecuted, not prosecuted, and everyone was standing by doing nothing."

 

Fighting back the tears, his voice cracked as he added: "I begged my legal team...to stop what was happening. I could see the damage a court case could cause the Windsors. I never wanted it.

 

"There were certain things that never should have been said in a police statement or in court. It went against everything I believed in. I could see the potential damage. Why couldn't everyone else?

 

"But never in my wildest dreams did I think that the Queen would intervene like she did."

 

Paul was acquitted on theft charges last Friday.

 

Paul said: "I broke down and just blurted out the words 'The Queen's come through for me'."

 

The royal meeting which halted the trial has led to speculation that the Queen conveniently remembered the conversation just as Paul was about to take the witness stand, armed with secrets which could embarrass or damage the Windsors.

 

There have been calls for a full inquiry. Prime Minister Tony Blair has been drawn into the debate.

 

BUT only two people know the truth about that crucial meeting - the Queen and Paul. The Queen's version was told to the Old Bailey. Now Paul Burrell is giving his in the Mirror.

 

It is the account he never wanted to tell in court. The conversation his own legal team were kept in the dark about until the 11th hour.

 

A one-to-one he would never have divulged - until the moment the Queen stepped in. For a man conditioned by the religion of discretion in the royal household, the reluctance to tell all was plain.

 

As he spoke, he fiddled with his precious cufflinks marked D for Diana.

 

But he was passionate as he said: "I'm not having the Queen's reputation destroyed, I'm not having it.

 

"I'm not having her carrying the can for all this. She is a woman of truth and honesty."

 

Paul was the butler Diana called "My Rock". But people forget that he was also the Queen's favourite footman for 11 years.

 

His fondness and admiration for her is as strong as his loyalty to the princess. The majority of his summit with the Queen will remain his secret. He said: "I've no wish to divulge the personal nature of such an intimate conversation. I will say only what is appropriate in the light of my trial.

 

"The Prime Minister has had his say on the conversation, the palace issued a statement about it and there has been much speculation. But I am the only other person privy to the truth and now it's my turn."

 

But the key questions over the saga have remained. Why did it take so long for the details to emerge?

 

And why on earth did he not tell his legal team about the conversation earlier? Paul did not tell his barrister until Mrs Justice Rafferty adjourned the trial before it collapsed. It was then that the behind-the-scenes moves about the Queen's recollection started.

 

It was as they were waiting that Paul told his QC Lord Carlile of his meeting with the Queen. "He nearly fell off his chair, but the truth is that its significance was lost on me.

 

PAUL said: "In the royal household, it is unthinkable to recount any conversation with Her Majesty.

 

"My own barrister thought I was nuts. I told him 'No, I'm just loyal'.

 

"That discretion put my own liberty at risk. But I would do it again."

 

The meeting with the Queen lasted from 2pm until 5pm. Paul said: "It was a long meeting...but Her Majesty was riveted to the spot by our conversation, in which neither of us seemed to draw breath."

 

Paul had not seen the Queen in person since he left her service in 1984 to join the Prince and Princess of Wales at Highgrove with his housemaid wife Maria.

 

He was telephoned at Kensington Palace as he worked on an inventory of Diana's belongings.

 

He said: "It was the Queen's page Paul Whybrow. His exact words were 'The Queen would like to see you tomorrow. I'll let the police know at the tradesman's entrance that you are expected'."

 

Paul said: "I was relieved and excited about the opportunity of being able to unburden myself.

 

"Things had been weighing heavily on me and I was desperate to tell someone. And who better to tell than my previous boss?"

 

The next day, he went to the palace and went up in the Queen's private lift to her apartment.

 

He said: "Paul Whybrow met me there. He said: 'The Queen is having lunch. She'll see you when she's finished coffee'."

 

Paul eventually entered the Queen's private sitting room.

 

"As I went in the Queen was standing there at her desk. The desk was groaning with letters and her famous red boxes, which were open and the government papers were strewn across the table. She appeared very relaxed and friendly. Completely unguarded. Nine or 10 corgis were strewn around the room.

 

The Queen, with an outstretched welcoming hand, smiled. I bowed and she said 'Hello Paul, how are you?' "

 

Paul, who stood for the entire three hours, said: "One does not sit when in the presence of Her Majesty at a private audience.

 

"She told me 'Nobody, Paul, has been as close to a member of my family as you have'."

 

He added: "That closeness was something thrown into question by the hell of his theft case. The Queen never doubted it."

 

He took into that meeting his grave concerns about how Diana's belongings were being treated by her family, the Spencers - the friends who turned prosecution witnesses to testify against him. They wanted to crush the Rock, he said.

 

In the wake of Diana's death, Paul became the custodian of her apartments - No 8 and No 9 at Kensington Palace.

 

But what started out as a grim, heartbreaking task of sifting through her belongings became a cause of serious concern.

 

He often saw Diana's mother Mrs Frances Shand Kydd shredding "volumes" of her daughter's personal papers and notes.

 

It was a concern that he shared with the Queen and led to the conversation which halted his trial.

 

HE said: "I told the Queen I had important tasks and duties to fulfil after the princess's death.

 

"I felt it was my duty to tell her what I had witnessed and what my intentions were.

 

"What I had witnessed was, in my opinion, an attempt to erase part of the princess's life and change history. I had seen her mother shredding Diana's personal letters, which the princess had kept safe.

 

"This was being done by a woman who the princess had refused to talk to or correspond with for six months and not four, as she said in court.

 

"I really felt that if the princess had wanted any documents destroyed, she would have destroyed them herself with that shredder.

 

"I thought it was my duty to protect those documents and keep them safe."

 

He went on: "I was not going to have the Spencers erase important parts of Diana's life."

 

Paul said he would never forget what the Queen had done.

 

"She didn't forget me when it mattered most.

 

"I thought I had been fed to the lions but, as it turned out, I had the most powerful witness to come without ever knowing it.

 

"That meeting with the Queen is a special memory for me.

 

"It was like talking to my mum. I walked away feeling a huge burden had been lifted from me.

 

"It had been an intense conversation, but it ended with normality.

 

"It ended with her saying 'I think it's about time I took the dogs for a walk'.

 

She took my hand and said: 'Take care'. I bowed and left the room."
