The upcoming Philadelphia re-trial of the notorious, if not famous or infamous, "planetary enzyme" activist Ira Einhorn may not garner the same level of national media attention as did the OJ Simpson trial, but its shadow may be even longer. Already convicted in absentia (is that legal in America?) for the 1979 murder of his girlfriend, this re-trial is authorized by a special PA "Einhorn Law" (which some constitutional scholars say is unconstitutional) enacted to fulfill a condition of his extradition from France after many years on the lam over his fears of being "railroaded" for a crime he has consistently claimed he did not commit.

After a year of imprisonment in Pennsylvania since his July 20, 2001, long-fought extradition which even involved The White House, Ira Einhorn -- dubbed "The Unicorn Killer" in sensationalized media reports because of his (Einhorn = "one horn" =~ "unicorn") nickname as a prominent 1960-70's Philadelphia activist represented by now-Senator Arlen Specter after a 1979 arrest for the murder of Holly Maddux; "framed", Ira says, to discredit his multi-issue activism, activism perhaps threatening exposure of covert US activities under guise of "national security" -- has asked for widespread distribution of his below first public information release from prison, regarding new information about Robert Eringer who attempted to lure him into going underground again before his extradition -- perhaps in Eringer's role as an apparent CIA operative "outed" by an unrelated lawsuit recently uncovered by former President GHW Bush administration's Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Catherine Austin Fitts who has visited Einhorn in prison, who knew him in Philadelphia, and who seems to have stepped forward as his main liaison to the "outside world".

Does this Eringer info offer the first shred of tangible evidence for such a "frame job," perhaps similar to the 1979 framing of former US Army Green Beret Bill Tyree for the murder of his wife to silence him for similar reasons as discussed below in excerpts from articles by Fitts' colleague Michael Ruppert, editor of From The Wilderness Publications? http://www.copvcia.com

Is this the faint outline of a shadow of a doubt that Einhorn murdered Maddux? In any case, it may be the beginning of a long dark "Shadow of The Unicorn" coming and going with a new sunrise of truth, a shadow which will shorten with this rising sun to reveal the view of what Fitts, Ruppert, and others have uncovered regarding some of the issues of Einhorn's activism -- about our present national and global situation caused by dangerous levels of corruption in corporate and political circles, institutionalized corruption pushing us towards further and greater destruction on both sides of this "war on terrorism," corruption involving reasons for the stock market problems, ulterior motives for our present war status -- and about solutions to these problems.

Covering up the truth about what issues of Einhorn's longtime activism hiding in the "Shadow of The Unicorn" might be so important as to frame him for murder, and then try to get him to go underground again rather than brave extradition and imprisionment, so that the truth might remain in the shadows? The real causes of the American 9-11 Tragedy? Legalizing marijuana and psychedelic drugs? Politicos' and intelligence agency operatives' massive complicity in the illegal drug trade? The bogus drug war? Advanced scientific discoveries that would make obsolete the current energy industry, discoveries being co-opted for military purposes instead of solving critical environmental problems? The bogus "war on terrorism" orchestrated to cover up and to further institionalized corruption? NWO? WTO? The growing American police state? 1. I knew Ira ---although not well--- when I was a student at the University of Penn. He was one of the most respected strategic thinkers in the Philadelphia and Penn community at the time.

I asked Ira Einhorn to write up a description of his dealings with Robert Eringer. I consider it critical to get this information circulating and posted on the web.

Robert Eringer, described in Jeff Stein's two-part Salon.com article, "The Greatest Vendetta on Earth," August 30 and 31, 2001, as "an obscure journalist with ties to the CIA," burst into my life in late 1998. His e-mail introduced him as an agent and a book publisher and spoke of his wish to publish my autobiography. I e-mailed him back and explained that I had an agent.

He, however, persisted in e-mail after e-mail, so I finally asked him to send me some books he had published. Two of them impressed me, so I told my agent what I was doing and invited him to come visit me.

He arrived with books I had mentioned as wanting to read, gifts for my wife, Annika, and wine for the house. He took us to our favorite chateau and other local haunts. I found him pleasant, easy to be with, but not particularly bright or well read. He told both my wife and I a long involved tale about how his family had made a small fortune selling the family bakery business. His mother and father had given each child a chunk and then moved to Monaco.

Eringer patiently e-mailed me again and again after that first visit. My agent felt it was not time to sell my novels, so she was attempting to have a biography done of me, as I was loathe to do my autobiography, though I had begun work on it. Eringer proposed all kinds of book schemes for me; schemes in which I was not interested. Nor did I find any of the people my agent sent to me, re: the biography, to be of interest.

Thus when Eringer suggested he would like to look at my fourth novel, Cantor Dust, which was near and dear to my hear, I informed my agent and sent it to him. Eringer was very enthusiastic about it. He said he would prefer to do my autobiography, but would work on getting my novel published as an opener to getting my autobiography.

I said he was welcome to try. Thus began a continuous stream of many hundreds of e-mails between this alleged intelligence operative and myself, broken only by his journeys to England, wherein he told me he saw a number of publishers without success and one new house that agreed to publish Cantor Dust when they were actually in business, and his family vacations. We were still at it the day I was extradited to the United States: July 20,2001.

After over a year of trying to publish the book, so he said, in a conventional way, he decided, after much discussion, to publish it himself. He gave it to a trusted associate, Frank Martin, to read. Frank gave it a glowing review and agreed to copy edit Cantor Dust if I agreed to do more work on the dialogue. We did this work over a four-month period, as Eringer e-mailed me nightly about his choice of wine, and went back and forth to England.

He finally agreed to publish Cantor Dust himself, using the limited edition as a means of selling it to a major publisher. After much delay, this was done in November of 2000.

Annika and I spent a month correcting proof. Eringer arrived in our area in January of 2001 to pick up the corrected copy and to make a deal. Our favorite chateau was not open, so we went to a local hotel and took rooms for the night so that my wife, Annika, could drink wine.

Eringer presented what appeared to be well thought out plans for marketing the book, but balked at giving me any advance money; money which we had discussed and agreed upon from the beginning. It was not a large sum, more a token of good faith. Annika and I were not happy about his backing off on the advance and made our feelings quite clear: no money, no book. This obviously disturbed Eringer. Over a superb French dinner, he talked about my precarious situation in France and proposed a way to both handle that and publish the book.

He said that he had connections with Polish Solidarity and would provide us both with a place to live and money to live with if we would go underground. In fact, he said that he would publish the book only if I agreed to go underground.

Annika had enough of living underground, the French situation was, at that time, alive and I didn't trust Eringer. So I laughed and told him to keep me informed.

The next morning at breakfast, he gave me two code words for talking about going to Poland and asked me to give him the corrected copy. He promised to give me a financial offer in a short time. I reluctantly gave him the copy-edited manuscript, but both Annika and I felt that our hopes of publishing Cantor Dust had been sharply reduced.

On February 15th, I received a fax from Robert Eringer that said he would publish Cantor Dust only if I went underground. I was astonished at such behavior. I wrote back about it in no uncertain terms. After a flurry of faxes and e-mails, he offered m e $10,000 up front and $10,000 that would be handed to me when I met him at a "to be determined" place on my way to Poland to which he would take me. When he refused to publish Cantor Dust without my going underground, I felt as if I were being blackmailed.

So I sent him an e-mail that said that if he didn't produce uncorrected page proofs, I was going to the media with the entire story.

My phone range almost immediately. The voice on the phone was that of a very upset Robert Eringer. He begged me to calm down. I said I would calm down as soon as he agreed to produce some uncorrected page proofs of Cantor Dust. He did. He also agreed to try to find a publisher. Proof copies arrived shortly afterwards, but I felt as if the entire process was over, in spite of Eringer's insistence that he would look for a publisher.

The events around my extradition intervened, though Robert Eringer kept calling and e-mailing on a daily basis. My wife had some contact with both Robert Eringer and Frank Martin for about a month, and then all was silence as the salon.com article obviously frightened them. It is an article that I would have seen in the normal course of events, but I was in jail.

One night I was talking to a friend on the jailhouse phone and mentioned Eringer's name. It rang a bell. She was sitting on her computer and entered it into a search engine. The Salon.com article appeared on the screen and she gasped. She immediately printed it out and sent it to me. I read it and got the chills.

One of Robert Eringer's closest associates is Claire E. George, Past DDO (Deputy Director of Operations) for the CIA, in charge of covert operations for the entire planet. Sources who have researched the situation indicate that Claire E. George and Robert Eringer have worked together on a number of operations, still work together and have a pile of money at their disposal.

Now why would people like that mount a complex operation against "a bum who xeroxes things?" It is a question that honest folks ought to ask as they think about my situation.

The Philadelphia media since 1979 has consistently portrayed Einhorn as an insubstantial braggard who really had no significant influence, a Dirty Stinky Hippie Jew, a "hippie guru," just "a bum who xeroxed things".

Thus, the idea of his being framed to shut him up would make no sense at all to prospective jurors in his upcoming trial. This prejudicial distortion of fact is countered by such articles as "PK Dick, the Unicorn..." which is excerpted in a Sarfatti email as follows:

Einhorn's activism issues, in his Philadelphia days and since, run a wide range from those related to the above through many even more esoteric issues at the forefront of modern physics gleaned from a network of collaborators involved in the "physics of consciousness" applications such as the so-called "psi phenomena," the anomalous non-reproducible by all observers "mind-weirdness influences" such as "remote viewing" (a relabeling of what is more widely known as Extra Sensory Perception), telekinesis or psychokinesis (mental capacity to influence physical objects apparently by thought alone, eg, Uri Geller phenomena), "mind control" (influencing the actions of others by "psychic", or techno-psychic "psychotronic" technologically aided mental, influences), UFO's (which some see as "real", some see at least partially as a mind-connected phenomena or illusion or covert terrestrial technology, etc), et al.

As weird and unbelievable as many of these ideas sound to the general public they were and are taken very seriously by leading physicists and their counterparts and collaborators in government intelligence circles as evidenced by the now acknowledged CIA funded experiments during the 60's and 70's at laboratories including Stanford Research Institute where controlled experiments on the "Geller Phenomena" were conducted, and as evidenced by one of Einhorn's collaborators' questions to Geller posed by theoretical physicist Jack Sarfatti on whether it was possible to detontate a nuclear weapon telekinetically.

Psi phenomena depicted in "Psychic Discoveries Behind the Iron Curtain" show why both the US and Soviet Bloc military intelligence communities were very concerned about each other's developments in this area. Nikola Tesla's archives in then Soviet dominated Yugoslavia were of particular concern to both sides during the 1970's and Sarfatti has speculated on the record of his Internet Science Education Project email collaboration lists that Einhorn could have been framed perhaps even by KGB types due to his deep connections enabling him to circulate sensitive information in this area obtained from "Serbian sources."

Another of Einhorn's collaborators in the 70's was now retired US Army Lt. Col. Thomas Bearden (aka Beardon) who has been a leading figure for decades professing a deeper understanding of the original more complicated form of the Maxwell Equations of Electromagnetism he claims allowed Tesla to develop his advanced electro-magnetics which have applications both for technologies to replace nuclear and fossil fuel power and also heinous military and weaponry applications even more destructive than nuclear weapons. Bearden recently was issued a patent for his solid state Motionless Electromagnetic Generator originally released on a DOE website, and even the Los Alamos Laboratory recently issued a report verifying the previously misnamed "cold fusion" effects. Political agendas to preserve the fossil fuel industry still remain obstacles for implementing these technologies, as discussed in his article "Pipelinestan" on Ruppert's website documenting the war in Afghanistan as a long planned ruse to access huge Caspian Sea oil reserves by the western oil companies who own decision making politicians. Bearden feels his technology is "tapping the zero point energy of the quantum vacuum flux," a technology the DOE in 1998 said is "the holy Grail of energy research".

With such information "leaks" at stake, there should be no doubt that there was a possible motive for framing Einhorn for the Maddux murder. Certainly such scenario is supported by the evidence that Maddux's body was found in a locked trunk in a locked closet, which was actually located outside Einhorn's Philadelphia apartment on its porch, in a desiccated condition with no blood evidence inside the trunk or apartment, indicating that her body was placed in that trunk long after her death and the body's dehydration. Is it really so hard to imagine it possible for someone to have picked a couple of locks and placed her body there to frame him "when the time was ripe"?

FTW editor Ruppert describes Catherine Fitts in an article excerpted below from his website on the controversial Promis software used to monitor and manipulate financial markets and plunder assets:

"Former Assistant Secretary of Housing, Catherine Austin Fitts has had about as much ink in FTW as anyone else. A feisty, innovative thinker she has seen raging success as a Managing Director of the Wall Street investment bank Dillon Read and she has been "nuked" into near poverty after devising software strategies seeking to optimize financial data and returns for the US taxpayer. While acting as a HUD consultant in 1996, selling defaulted HUD Mortgages into the private market through her own investment bank, Hamilton Securities (no relation), she achieved unheard of taxpayer returns of around 90 cents on the dollar. In doing so she ran afoul of an entrenched Washington financial power structure feeding un-competitively at the HUD trough.

"Last month we described how Fitts devised a data optimization method using hand coding by residents of a HUD Housing project in Washington to produce Promis-like results. She successfully "mapped" the flow of HUD money and was about to create proprietary software that would make the job easier. That software would have integrated billions of pieces of disorganized HUD financial data. Suddenly, in August 1996, DoJ and HUD Inspector's General investigations started that seized her computers and resulted in a four-year blatantly illegal campaign to crush everything she stood for. No charges were ever brought, Fitts, her money and her data are still viciously separated." Fitts' work came to my attention via Ruppert after they compared notes and found evidence of intentional targeting of African American urban populations with drug war forfeitures of HUD housing by profiteers under auspices of "urban gentrification," related to their lawsuit endorsed by Oakland Mayor Jerry Brown's City Council and filed against CIA in 1999 by South Central Los Angeles and Oakland California victims.

Ira Einhorn brought evidence in the early 1970's to the then Attorney General of Pennsylvania about CIA complicity in the illegal heroin smuggling from Vietnam, a problem since increased to plague proportions today according to Ruppert and Fitts on a scale that now impacts the national and global economy, financial markets, and most all politicians financially.

Referencing my Einhorn-Tyree case comparison, excerpted from Ruppert's written submission to the US Senate Select Committee on Intelligence:

"...affidavit details how Special Forces personnel were ordered by CIA personnel including Ed Wilson to penetrate Colombia in 1975 and 76 to plant radar beacons so that cocaine flights could successfully fly below radar and land undetected at Albrook field in Panama. It also details how a former Special Forces troop named William Tyree, who was on these missions, was framed, in spite of overwhelming evidence of his innocence, for the murder of his own wife. This was in 1979 after he had expressed misgivings about being ordered to participate in massive domestic surveillance, harassment and blackmail operations. It was also exactly the same time that I was forced out of LAPD. Bill has been serving a life sentence in Walpole State Prison in Massachusetts for eighteen years.

"I have spoken to and corresponded with Bill Tyree many times and I consider him to be as innocent as Geronimo Pratt, the Black Panther who was recently released from a California prison. Indeed, there is evidence that Tyree was not at the murder scene and that there were witnesses who saw the actual killer emerge from Tyree's bedroom window the day his wife was murdered. He was framed to ensure his silence and the threat of harm still hangs over his family as I speak to you this day if he ever reveals all of what he knows."

In December '93 I penned a piece entitled PKD, The Unicorn and Soviet Psychotronics, which addressed--among other things--Soviet mind control experiments utilizing technologies discovered by Serbian inventor Nikola Tesla around the turn of the century.

PKD, of course, was Philip K. Dick, the late great speculative fiction novelist, who believed many strange things had happened to his head during the seventies...

"The Unicorn"--as he was known to friends and fellow researchers--was none other than Ira Einhorn, a prominent figure in the New Age Counterculture of the late sixties and seventies. Phil and Ira became acquainted through the auspices of CoEvolution Quarterly, later renamed The Whole Earth Review, a by-product of former Merry Prankster Stewart Brand's revolutionary brainchild, The Whole Earth Catalog. Within the letter section of CoEvolution Quarterly, Dick and Einhorn initiated a dialogue on Soviet psychotronics & mind control, and it's far reaching implications. Shortly afterwards, Einhorn's girlfriend and fellow researcher, Holly Maddux's dismembered body parts were discovered in a steamer trunk in Einhorn's Philadelphia apartment, and Einhorn charged with her murder.

In PKD, The Unicorn and Soviet Psychotronics I presented what at that time was nothing more than a visceral theory which posited that Einhorn might've been set up to take the rap of Holly's murder to silence him at a juncture when he was bringing to the forefront Tesla's hidden technologies, and the profound impact these technologies would have upon humankind if they were to ever become widely known. Now, just recently, an affirmation of my gut feeling/theory has been seconded by Walter Bowart in a revised and updated edition of his classic Operation Mind Control( OMC), recently reissued by Flatland.

In Chapter 29: Invisible Warfare, Bowart discusses areas of mind control that--at the time of the first printing of OMC in the late seventies--were just beginning to come to the attention of cryptocracy/conspiracy researchers. A more advanced technology of mind control--according to Bowart--had taken the place of such traditional covert modus operandi as mind altering drugs and hypnosis, supplanting them with the insidious use of various psychotronic technologies such as ELF waves, microwaves and other forms of electromagnetic manipulation, whereby waves tuned to a certain frequency could induce a subject to become more prone to auto-suggestion, and perhaps even induce depressive or overly aggressive ASC's. (Some of these weapons have been referred to as Non-Lethal in recent military literature.) Besides affecting the human mind and body, some have suggested, certain forms of electromagnetic waves could also effect weather patterns from great distances.

One of the chief proponents in exposing the use of these covert technologies is Lt. Colonel Thomas Beardon, USAF(Ret.), a close friend and former associate of the aforementioned "Unicorn". A former military intelligence officer, Beardon publishes Specula, a magazine devoted to "psychotronics" and "bio-energetics". In the mid eighties, Bill Jenkins hosted a radio program on AM KFI in Los Angeles which on a weekly basis dealt with subjects of the paranormal. The first time I tuned into Jenkin's show his guest was none other than Col. Beardon, who spoke of a mysterious "woodpecker" signal, which during that era had become quite the hot topic among ham operators around the world. The so-called "woodpecker" signal could be replicated by tapping a pencil on a table between eight and fourteen times each second. Beardon claimed this signal emanated from the Soviet Union and had been traced to an alleged "Tesla Generator" in the cities of Riga and Gomel, and that the "woodpecker" signal was responsible for weather modification wars covertly waged upon an unsuspecting United States citizenry by the wily and unscrupulous Russians. These manipulations of U.S. weather patterns created a drought in the western states which ostensibly caused severe effects on farming and the economy in 1976, the same year the infamous "woodpecker" signal was first discovered. Such discoveries as these--shared with, and dispersed by, The Unicorn--are what many believe led to his subsequent fall from grace, when the figurative horn fell from his head, as he shed his Unicorn identity, sinking into the shadows of anonymity, to escape the dragnet of Big Brother.

As previously stated in PKD, The Unicorn and Soviet Psychotronics, Einhorn first came to the attention of the American public as Master of Ceremonies for the first Earth Day Celebration in 1970. Over the ensuing years, this event has unfortunately become a cooperate sponsored shadow of it's former self. Where the earlier versions were known for their radical and activist agendas, more recent incarnations of "Earth Day" have become increasingly soft pedaled and watered down by the cooperate elite; like a Burger King, for instance, who promote the use of recyclable products, while at the same time hacking away at what's left of the Earth's rapidly diminishing rain forests.

Among his many contacts, friends and acquaintances Einhorn counted such luminaries as Michael Murphy of Esalen Institute, astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Edgar Mitchell, Uri Geller and Andrija Puharich, Arthur C. Clarke, Arthur Koestler, Stewart Brand, UFO authority Jacques Vallee, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, EST founder Werner Erhard, not to mention leading edge Quantum physicists Fred Wolf and Jack Sarfatti--of whom, for both--Einhorn even served for awhile as literary agent.

Being tapped into, as he was, this so-called cutting edge pipe line of new age thinkers, Einhorn--because of his vast knowledge of the latest discoveries and happenings in the rapidly developing communications industries, and other technologies--worked on retainer as a consultant for several large corporations, among them AT&T.

Einhorn also served for a time as an aid to Congressman Charlie Rose (D-N.C.), who himself was keenly interested in Tesla's inventions, and other suppressed high-tech. Elsewhere in OMC, Bowart chronicles a meeting between Congressman Rose and a Canadian inventor in the late seventies who had developed a helmet--that when placed upon the head--would take it's wearer into another world, much like the VR eyegear-unit postulated in the movie Brainstorm.

One such virtual reality scenario played out upon the wearer's of said helmet was a mock alien abduction. Congressman Rose put on the helmet and was run through this virtual reality/alien abduction programme. Much to his amazement, the simulated scenario seemed incredibly realistic. This device sounds quite similar to Michael Persinger's much touted "Magic Helmet", which has been receiving a fair amount of press recently. Although Bowart doesn't name the inventor of the helmet, chances are it was Persinger to whom he was referring. Persinger's name has also been bandied about by mind control investigator, Martin Cannon--in his treatise The Controllers--as a behind the scenes player in intelligence operations related to MK-ULTRA. The Controllers main premise is that alien abductions are screen memories to conceal covert mind control operations employed by Intelligence Agencies.

Bowart goes further to illustrate this so-called "dangerous free thinking" of Einhorn's in quoting from Sarfatti's Illuminati, which appeared on the INTERNET in '92, mentioning Einhorn frequently within it's text..

Jack Sarfatti was a prominent member in Einhorn's inner circle of "cosmic conspiracy" allies. In Sarfatti's Illuminati, Sarfatti described a meeting which once took place with other illuminaries of this "free thinking" scene in Uri Geller's hotel room. Those in attendance consisted of Sarfatti, Uri and his mentor Andrija Puharich, Brendan O'Regan of The Stanford Research Institute, and Einhorn. At this time Sarfatti remembers startling "...Uri by asking him if he could trigger a nuclear weapon by psychokinesis. I later found out from Ron McRae (author of Mind Wars) that some of our intelligence people were greatly concerned about that possibility. I may have initiated that concern..." Later Sarfatti says: "Former naval Intelligence and Jack Anderson reporter Ron McRae told me that the Navy had been fooled by phony data on remote viewing of Soviet submarines because someone had leaked the actual data to phony psychics. McRae seems to have omitted this story from his book...Barbara Honegger said that policy decisions on the basing of MX missiles were made by Reagan staff under the belief that remote-viewing worked. Harold Chipman believed that it worked and told me that he had used it successfully in his business..."

What I find most interesting is the interrelationship between so-called "psychic energy", and electromagnetics. Is the transmission of psychotronic thought projections into a subject's mind via low frequency waves the same phenomenon that occurs with telepathy or telekinesis? Remote viewing is basically astral projection; the transportation of one's spirit energies through time and space, and the astral body is often described as an electrical-type energy.

It's also worth noting that Abbie and Ira Einhorn were revolutionary pals before Abbie went underground due to a coke sting in the early seventies, ostensibly set up by Government Narcs. Around the time Abbie emerged from the underground, The Unicorn had began his own nefarious descent into the nether regions of safe houses, forged passports and funky disguises, submerging into a life on the lam. It never ceases to amaze this reporter, when you look at some of the most influential figures of the sixties--those who really did the most to shape, influence and inspire the "peace and love" generation--that most of them are now dead and buried, or missing in action like Ira "The Unicorn" Einhorn. Abbie & Jerry, case in point. The Kennedy's, blasted by blood splattering bullets to their respective brains. Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, and the most important members of the Black Panther Party all gone, kaput, mortalities of COINTELPRO. The three J's: Jim, Janis and Jimi--also coincidentally targeted by the FBI--now sing the blues in Rock N' Roll Heaven. John Lennon pumped full of hot lead outside the Dakota by a mind-controlled baby faced assassin. Lenny Bruce, like dead fat Elvis, a blue bloated corpse on a bathroom floor with underwear wrapped around cold ankles. Huey Newton, shot dead over a alleged drug deal gone sour. Emmet Grogan--the main man behind the Haight Ashbury Diggers--O.D.'d on the subway in New York. Jack Kerouac and Neal Cassady, the two most seminal influences from the Beat fifties that influenced the psychedelic sixties--dead by '69, passing with the decade. Phil Ochs--the anti-war activist/folk singer and YIPPIE--found dangling dead, hung on a rope, victim of an apparent suicide. More recently Frank Zappa--a powerful and intelligent political voice--succumbing to prostate cancer. Bob Marley, the voice of Rastafarianism and Jamaican Liberation, falling victim to brain cancer. Peter Tosh--founding member of The Wailers along with Marley--shot dead. Now Kurt Cobain--a voice of a new generation--performing the near impossible task of shooting himself into oblivion while performing fellatio on a shotgun. The same old pattern and questions have arisen from his tragic demise. The list is endless.

It may appear that I've swerved away from the general topic at hand of mind control and psychotronics, into several tangential conspiracies that only tenuously intertwine and relate to one another. But it's my contention that all of these arcane theories into which I've dangerously delved are interrelated, and are just various tentacles that lead back to the very same "Octopus" that reached out and touched Danny Consolaro, when Consolaro got too close to the Truth.

UFO's, Mind Control, Political Assassinations, et al. are all connected and originate from the same shadowy source. "Is the American Intelligence Community responsible for these conspiracies!!??" you might skeptically inquire, with a perceptible edge to your voice. Well, to some degree, Yes, but that's only a small piece of the puzzle. Other world governments, agencies and secret societies--whose mysterious memberships often overlap into such groups as the Knights of Malta, the P2 Lodge and the Trilateral Commission, to name just a few--are also involved, including front organizations and rogue elements of intelligence agencies that sometimes work autonomously or subcontract to the highest bidder; whatever the weather allows. Although these groups might not have the same exact agenda--and although the various conspiracies they are propagating may in actuality be competing conspiracies --they all work together (although frequently oblivious of one another, or in apparent conflict--either real of perceived) to form one continuous whole that maintains an ultimate power control group, keeping those select few in power who hide in the shadows pushing the buttons and pulling the levers, manipulating the events of the world--just like the mystery man behind the purple velvet curtain in the Merry old land of Oz. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!

I would like to wrap up this long winded and unwieldy rant with a quote from the recently published 50 Greatest Conspiracies of All Time by Vankin & Whalen. In the final chapter Vankin and Whalen conclude their collection of conspiracies with the Mother of them all: the continually perplexing and infinitely tragic JFK Assassination. I present the following paragraph because it sums up in a few words what I've just spent several paragraphs clumsily trying to outline; that being a theory of competing conspiracies; a thesis echoed by others, like Ishmael Reed in his book Mumbo Jumbo, and the always controversial John Judge.

"So who killed JFK? The CIA? Anti-Castro fanatics? The Mafia? The military? A cabal of wealthy right-wing extremists? Or were they all somehow in league? There is evidence for any of the above. And all. Perhaps there were multiple plots against Kennedy that coalesced into one gigantic coverup with each party protecting it's own interests but not necessarily cognizant of it's counterparts' involvement."

I believe the above quote is only a microcosm in the macrocosm of conspiracy politics; as mind control, psychotronics, and the "War On Drugs" are simply a few of the various weapons being used to wage war upon human free will, and the individual sovereignty of our minds.

The Philadelphia "Unicorn Killer" retrial, for a murder that compares gruesomely to the OJ Simpson case, has related issues that are much more far-reaching -- especially if Ira Einhorn's claims are true that he was framed by domestic or foreign intelligence agencies to silence his multi-issue activism in the 60's and 70's -- and especially as the US prepares again to go to war to protect American oil supplies while suppressing the new-energy technologies to replace fossil fuel power that Einhorn might otherwise have helped implement by now. The retrial is expected to last a month. Will its expected broad media coverage help or hinder exposure of critical related issues?

Will his wife, Annika Einhorn, be able to mention any of the information below from Ira which substantiates his claims that he was framed for murder to shut him up? From France she will be on the CBS's Early Show tomorrow morning and CNN's Larry King Live in the evening. Bill Cannon, Ira's lawyer, is doing Connie Chung with ABC in the evening.

"Stress is information that the body is unable to accomodate; pollution is material that the environment is unable to recycle within human time frames."

In the mid to late 60's the accelerating destruction of the planetary interconnecting web, which is our life support system and without which we cannot survive, became an emergent possibility to a few of us activists who took the trouble to read the then available ecological literature. We intuitively sensed the need to open a new front in the "movement" battle, for Chicago '68 was already pointing towards Kent State and the violence of frustration that lead to the Weathermen and other similarly doomed and fragmented groups.

Earth Day in Philadelphia was conceived as a necessary partnership between business, academic, political and activist interests, for environmental protection requires a conscious restructuring of all we do.

All of my subsequent work in the business community, as social change agent, consultant, futurist and learner, came out of that initial partnership brokered by Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce president Thatcher Longstreeth.

I did not give up my participation in opposition to the war in Vietnam, my work with the black organizations that still allowed white participations, my campaigning for a sensible drug policy, my spreading of information about CIA involvement in the heroin trade, my investigative work on the assassination of J.F.K., my study of various techniques for changing consciousness, or my work in futurism, but rather shifted my focus and added a new arrow to my quiver.

It soon became obvious to me, after an enormous amount of reading and intense dialogue with many scholars, who knew much more than I about the coming ecological disaster, that ecocide was our species' future, if we did not find a way to bring about massive change.

The cosmetics of "greenwash" would buy time, but I knew from a deep study and intense listening to the marvelous lunchtime raps of Ian McHarg that even his comprehensive ecological planning structures, which were light years ahead of the brilliant work of Amory Lovins and so many others, would not halt our lemming like march towards an ecological abyss.

Hence my shift towards activities during the early 70's that were incomprehensible to my most radical eco-friends like ex-digger Peter Berg.

I felt that the entire planet needed the kind of shock that Arthur Clark provides at the conclusion of "Childhood's End," plus a new kind of technology that would allow us to live without destroying the delicate balance that supports us. I later realized, due to my intense editing of many versions of Arthur Young's two major texts, "The Geometry of Meaning" and "The Reflexive Universe", that we also needed a comprehensive metaphysic that would subsume science and fold it into a more inclusive value laden structure.

My study of Brecht, Artaud and Gurdjieff taught me much about shock and its effects. My study of UFO's quickly made me aware that the coverup of such information, irrespective of its meaning and explanation, was a "Cosmic Watergate," but the elusive pattern of the recurring flaps made me aware that the phenomenon was beyond immediate use, though I sensed that its attendant psychic phenomena were of great possible use.

Thus, when the opportunity to work on the Uri Geller project with Andrija Puharich emerged in 1971, as a result of my convincing my editor/friend Bill Whitehead to republish two of Andrija's earlier books, for one of which, "Beyond Telepathy", I wrote an introduction, I quickly combined my newly developed corporate contacts, Andrija's networks and those past "movement" friends able to deal with "magic," into my Network called by some "the internet before the internet existed."

The Network was originally set up under Bell of PA, then the local telephone company, with the approval of the then president Bill Cashel who later became the vice-chairman of A.T.&T., at that time the largest corporation in the world, to service the information needs of those people linked with Andrija and I in the Geller Project. That Network grew during the 70's to over 300 key people in a multitude of human disciplines in 26 countries on both sides of the Iron Curtain. Each piece of information was circulated separately to those people in the Network that I thought would be interested in the information. Bell maintained a card file of names and addresses and did all the duplicating and mailing. No money ever changed hands. It was a barter arrangement between myself and the world's largest corporate entity. The information circulated on the Network soon grew to encompass emerging information in a large number of fields. The AT&T "far watchers" -- those paid to eliminate surprises -- soon came to talk to me at regular intervals, host me at AT&T headquarters and take me to Bell Labs, for I was circulating both articles and books that they should have known about but didn't.

What Geller could do, I saw a lot of it first hand, indicated that the basic physical framework in which physics operated was inadequate and that so called "free energy" devices -- devices that would solve our energy problem and end what is now called global warming and allow for the decentralization of most economic activities -- could become a reality.

Hence I circulated all previously known anti-gravity information and all the emerging work on "free energy" devices.

Unfortunately, all new technology can be used as weaponry as well as for human benefit. So, I was soon up to my ears in a multi-pronged intelligence game that is still waiting to be unravelled.

A small subset of the Network soon found itself monitoring the "Russian Woodpecker" -- a signal emanating from Soviet territory that appeared to have mind control properties, according to Eldon Byrd, the creator of a mind control device for the Navy, the CIA admitted as much in 1986, a decade later. Gathering together information from many sources, I published the first public article on the issue in the "Co-Evolution Quarterly" in 1975. [1]

I was then inundated with mail from all over the world. One of my correspondents was P.K. Dick, probably our best science fiction writer, whose work is slowly bleeding into popular consciousness through the movies: Ridley Scott's "Alien" and Spielberg's latest with Tom Cruise in the lead, among others, are based upon his prescient work. Dick wrote me a series of letters about mind control, that I circulated to a small group, and then poured out 500,000 words about the issues we discussed.

I also began receiving badly translated reports from all over the Soviet Union of psychotronic/mind-control weaponry. Weaponry so chilling that I only shared some of the content, not the actual reports, with two people: Arthur Koestler and Stafford Beer. (see his letter to my original attorney: Norris Gelman). [2]

I also circulated a general letter to the entire Network about mind control issues that Alvin Toffler, author of "Future Shock", and I wrote together. [3]

I sat on all of these reports for more than a year and a half. I spoke to Arthur and then Stafford about the issue only after I was warned by Tony Judge and others that they felt my life was under threat.

At the time of my arrest, I had received over 200 reports, mailed from all over the world, but obviously originating from behind the Iron Curtain. In the summer of 1977, I planned a fact finding trip that would have taken me to many sites behind the Iron Curtain. In the Spring of 1977, the CIA contacted me through an intermediary, but I declined to cooperate under the circumstances. I wanted direct contact. My Iron Curtain part of the trip was cancelled after Los Angeles Times reporter Robert Toth was arrested in Moscow, supposedly in possession of material that was similar to that for which I was looking.

While this part of my life was going on, I was circulating edge information all over the world, running physics and consciousness weekends in a number of places, giving innumerable lectures and working on many other projects including being the director and money raiser for SunDay in Philadelphia which saw our symbol adorn the top of the electric company building. I did 42 radio and television shows during the 14 day run up to this 2 week long event. At that time I was also involved in two major futures studies: one involving the future of communication for the Canadian Telephone Company, under the auspices of Jacques Vallee, using his newly developed computer conferencing technique; the other a study I conducted myself for a small local multi-national corporation. In addition, I was constantly finding books for my editor Bill Whitehead to publish and beginning to lecture on the principles behind Networking for major corporations.

To substantiate the reports about the mind control properties of the "Russian Woodpecker," Andrija Puharich built a smaller version of the technology and tested it on some of our core group in private and in a number of public spaces -- indicating a devastating ability to modulate human behavior.

So when the opportunity arose, after a series of dinners and meetings in Princeton and New York with Bogdon Maglich, the head of Migma Fusion, the only private nuclear fusion research operation in the United States, and a number of Yugoslavian government officials, I agreed to help organize a large Tesla celebration. To this end, I enlisted the support of the president of the prestigious Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, Bowen Dees, and after a stint at Harvard and with the blessing of the Yugoslavian Consul-General in New York, I went off to Yugoslavia, to spend days at their expense, as an unofficial ambassador.

I was planning to do many things during this celebratory conference that would have linked the Tesla Museum in Beograd with the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia: besides giving Tesla his just due and showcasing his achievements in a major exhibit at the Franklin Institute, while holding a major international conference on his works, I would also have organized a smaller conference on the suppressed aspects of his work in mind control and free energy and found a way to directly demonstrate mind control to those who came to the conference.

In the Fall of 1978; I was a Fellow in Residence at the Institute of Politics within the Kennedy School at Harvard. I taught one course, ran a small lunch time chat series in which Harvard luminaries, Ambassador Reichauer, E. D. Wilson and Karl Deutsch, among others, ate and chatted with 5 or 6 of us for a couple of hours; I lectured in every conceivable venue at Harvard, conducted a number of public symposiums, brought a number of the members of my Network to Harvard to lecture, ate dinner with a host of well known political figures, and made an inordinate amount of noise about mind control technology and the Russian Woodpecker to, among others, then CIA head Stansfield Turner.

This lead to a meeting in the Boston Airport, arranged by one of JFK's chief aides, on the matter with a top defense intelligence scientist who ended up spending the evening with me and giving me his home telephone number.

In 1979 I received a small private foundation grant to study free energy devices in preparation for a large involvement in such activities.

I was planning to visit all of the inventors personally and then prepare a report that would have formed the basis of a venture capital enterprise that had been encouraged, due to some of my mailings, by a number of my affluent friends. The objective was to develop and bring one device to the marketplace.

In late Winter of 1979 I went to Yugoslavia as a guest of the Yugoslavian government to further my Tesla Project. My translator was the same translator that Marshall Tito, the leader of the country, used. He spent much time with me outside of the official meetings, talking constantly about Yugoslavia's need to find a way to open to the United States and the West in general. I had a number of official meetings, the outcome of which was that the government agreed to fly whatever I needed of Tesla material from the Tesla Museum in Beograd to the United States at their expense. I was also encouraged to return to Yugoslavia during the Summer and see more of the country at their expense.

Reports of my success reached both Bogdon Maglich and the president of Pennsylvania Bell, Bill Mowbraaten, before I got back to the United States. Maglich was amazed at my treatment. He couldn't quite believe the notes of the meetings he had received.

Bill Mowbraaten had a message waiting for me when I returned to my small apartment about a breakfast meeting as soon as I returned. At breakfast the next morning, he told me that he wanted to take me to the next meeting of the Conference Board as American business was looking for a way into Yugoslavia and I had made a breakthrough. The Conference Board represented all the major American corporations and would have funded my conference and seen to it that the president delivered the keynote address. I was much too busy to think about how Bill had gotten information so quickly about my Yugoslav meetings, and I was immediately off to England again for a week with the Prince of Iran.

I was up to my ears in projects: I was in the middle of doing an interview with "Omni"; I was about to conduct a book length interview with Arthur Koestler that would have covered his entire career; I was in negotiation about acting in a play; the day my first life ended, a friend was coming down from New York to speak to me about helping to write and possibly act in a TV series about the 60's.

All was not to be. I was busted for a murder I did not commit and all my work on mind control and free energy became history.

"The Latin American drug cartels have stretched their tentacles much deeper into our lives than most people believe. It's possible they are calling the shots at all levels of government."

The Solari Index is my way of estimating how well a place is doing. It is based upon the percentage of people in a place who believe that a child can leave his or her home, go to the nearest place to buy a popsicle and come home alone safely.

When I was a child growing up in the 1950s at 48th and Larchwood in West Philadelphia, the Solari Index was 100 percent. It was unthinkable that a child was not safe running up to the stores on Spruce Street for a popsicle and some pinball. The Dow Jones was about 500 and the Solari Index was 100 percent.

Today, the Dow Jones is over 9,000 and my favorite hairdresser in Philadelphia, Al at the Hair Hut in West Philadelphia, and I just agreed that the Solari Index is in the tank -both in the streets of Philadelphia and throughout America.

Life on the street isn't sweet any more. I watched the slide of the Solari Index as a child. A lot of it had to do with narcotics trafficking and the people that narco dollars put in power on our streets - and in City Hall, in the banks, in Congress and the corporations and investors that surround the city.

Once a month I drive to Philadelphia from my home in Hickory Valley, Tenn., to attend a board meeting. I stay in a lovely little apartment in the first floor of a rowhouse owned by my friend Georgie, not far from where I grew up in West Philadelphia.

Georgie is one of my favorite people in the world. One day, Forest, my dog, and I were up in Georgie's apartment to enjoy a fresh plate of scrapple that Georgie had fried up that morning. The conversation turned to narco dollars. Georgie said that looking at the big picture was simply too overwhelming. Couldn't I explain this in terms of a neighborhood in Philadelphia? So we got out a blank piece of paper and started to estimate.

We assumed that two or three teenagers on a Philadelphia street corner dealing drugs could theoretically do $300 a day of sales each and work 250 days a year. We guessed that their supplier got 50 percent, and maybe ran his net profits of $100,000 through a local fast-food restaurant that was owned by a publicly traded company. Assuming that company had a stock market value of 20-30 times its profits, a handful of teenagers could generate approximately $2 million to $3 million in stock market value for a major corporation, not to mention a nice flow of deposits and business for the Philadelphia banks and insurance companies.

OK, that is what a handful of kids can do. Let's look at all the organized crime profits, narcotics trafficking and everything else. If the Department of Justice is correct about $500 billion to $1 trillion of annual money laundering in the U.S., then about $20 billion to $40 billion is a reasonable estimate for what should move annually through the Philadelphia Federal Reserve district.

Assuming a 20-percent margin for organized-crime profits and a 20-times multiple on the stock of the companies being used to launder the money, the stock market value that could potentially be "addicted" to organized crime profits flowing through the Philadelphia area from $20 billion to $40 billion in narco- and organized-crime revenues could be as much as $160 billion. If you add all the things you could do with debt and other ways to increase the multiples, you could get that even higher, say $250 billion.

Imagine what would happen if all these teenagers in the Philadelphia area stopped taking and dealing drugs? Now do you understand what Philadelphia mothers and dads are up against when they try and make sure their children are safe?

Last summer, I made a presentation called "How the Money Works on Organized Crime" to a wonderful group of about 100 people at an annual conference for a spiritually focused foundation in Philadelphia. This is a group committed to contributing to the spiritual evolution of our culture.

After walking through the various profits generated by narcotics trafficking, financial fraud and other types of organized crime, as well as the intersection of this money with the stock market and campaign fundraising, for about an hour, I asked the group what would happen to the stock market if we decriminalized or legalized drugs?

What would happen to financing the government deficit if we enforced all money-laundering laws? Since most bank wire transfers are batched and run through the New York Federal Reserve Bank, this should not really be that hard, right?

Their taxes might go up. Worse yet, their government checks might stop, they said.

By the power of our imaginations, if they pushed that button they could decriminalize narcotics trafficking or whatever actions were necessary to stop organized crime and stop all money laundering in the United States.

It turns out that in an audience of approximately 100 people committed to spiritually evolve our society, only one person would push the button.

Upon reflection, 99 would not. I asked why. They said that if they pushed the button, their mutual funds would go down and their government checks might stop. I commented that what they were proposing is that an entire infrastructure of people continue to market narcotics to their children and grandchildren to ensure that their mutual and pension funds stay high in value.

Which is why I say that America is not addicted to narcotics as much as it is addicted to narco dollars.

Can we face our addiction to narco dollars? Can we do it in a way that entrepreneurs like me can build successful businesses and transactions that profit from getting the Solari Index and the Dow Jones Index to go up together while getting debt to go down?

It's quite possible. Helping the Solari Index rise back to 100 percent is the biggest capital gains opportunity in the Philadelphia area, on real estate as well as what is possible from re-engineering government investment and pooling small-business equity in a manner that provides competitive access to the stock market. Generations of accumulated narco dollars could do very well investing successfully in such a capital gains opportunity.

The creation of a solari, a local knowledge manager/databank that publishes neighborhood financial statements and information and tracks the Solari Index in your place, can make it possible for your neighborhood to create pools of private equity that could channel capital to the profitable opportunities in your area. That is a lot of capital that local entrepreneurs can use to create jobs and to build their businesses - even start new ones.

It's time to face our addiction to narco dollars and to grapple with how to reverse our incentive systems. It is time to figure out how publicly traded companies and our banks and insurance companies can make more money from our kids succeeding than from them failing. Indeed, it can be done.

So here is my message on our addiction to narco dollars. Now that we have run the Solari Index down to near zero percent and increased our dependency on debt while fueling the rise of the Dow Jones about 20 times since I was a kid, the new opportunity is going to be the fortunes to be made on businesses and investment vehicles that fuel the Solari Index rising.

Wouldn't you pay for streets to be sweet for your child once again? Especially if it made you a whole bunch of money on an initial public offering of your neighborhood mutual or venture fund in the stock market?

(Philadelphia-AP) -- Former hippie guru Ira Einhorn has been convicted of killing his girlfriend. Einhorn, who is 62, faces an automatic sentence of life in prison without parole for the long-ago murder of Holly Maddux, whose mummified corpse was found in a trunk in his closet.

Einhorn insisted he was innocent and said he had no idea how Maddux's body turned up in the steamer trunk. He claims he was set up because he had knowledge of CIA mind control experiments but prosecutors portrayed him as violent. The six-man, six-woman jury deliberated less than an hour yesterday and only a short time again this morning, before reaching its verdict.

Maddux's remains were found in 1979, some 18 months after she disappeared. Einhorn jumped bail just before his trial was set to begin in 1981. He hid out in Europe under an assumed name until his arrest in France in 1997. He was convicted in absentia in 1993, but that conviction was set aside under an agreement that cleared the way for his extradition last year.

Jim Garrison and Tom Jenkins from Gorbachev Foundation hosted a fun-filled birthday party for Nina Kucharev on this past Saturday night on the third floor of my office at 3220 Sacramento Street in San Francisco. Tom Jenkins is a former physicist who arranges much of the logistics for Jim Garrison, such as Boris Yeltsin's visit to the USA before he became President of Russia. Tom and I had an interesting conversation in which we both noted the amazing patterns of synchronicity linking physicists interested in consciousness, extra-terrestrial intelligence, remote-viewing and other fringe areas with the pivotal events that ended the Cold War. Danny Sheehan, who also visits our office, was co-founder with Garrison, of the now defunct Christic Institute, a casualty of the Iran-Contra operation. Sheehan, has had childhood "close encounter experiences" analogous to the one I reported in "The Parsifal Effect." Evidently, it might appear that Dan Sheehan, was also part of the "400" contactees mentioned to me on the phone in 1952 by the alleged "conscious computer" on the spacecraft from the future. Harvard Professor John Mack, influential in the Esalen-Soviet Exchange Program, and under fire from Harvard for his bold study of UFO abductees, is also, it might appear, part of the "400."

Curiously, my writings influenced, in a sort of Forrest Gump way, forces on the opposing side to Garrison and Sheehan. Now we are all partying together like Tim Leary and Gordon Liddy appearing on the same stage in their intellectual vaudeville act. It is as if Umberto Ecco's _Foucault's Pendulum_ has passed from fiction to fact in this latest version of Balzac's Human Comedy orchestrated by John Lilly's "Cosmic Coincidence Control" from the future. This is more than the random "Butterfly Effect" of classical chaos theory. It suggests Fred Hoyle's idea that the initial quantum fluctuation amplified by classical chaos is intelligently manipulated and shaped by advanced starwaves from the future. Indeed, Tom's role with the Gorbachev-Yeltsin circles paralleled mine with the Reagan Administration via Lawry Chickering's Institute for Contemporary Studies and the second channel of influence opened by Cap Weinberger's son.

Michael and Dulce Murphy came to the party and I was impressed with Michael's description to me of Dulce's recent efforts to narrow the growing rift between Russian and US foreign policy by catalyzing communication and dialogue between the future leaders of both countries. Michael is the author of _The End To Ordinary_ History which covers some events similar to those described here. As Jim Garrison accurately said, stabilizing Russia today is not as "sexy" as it was a few years ago and, as Michael Murphy pointed out "Russia still has 20,000 nuclear warheads." The influence of former KGB in the new Russian Mafia is of course a major fact to be reckoned with.

Deepak Chopra.... Gorbachev will be joined by ... George Bush .... Margaret Thatcher ... 'Gorbachev believes we are giving birth to a new global civilization,' said Jim Garrison, executive director of the Gorbachev Foundation which occupies waterfront offices in San Francisco's Presidio.

"Leaders of mainline Western religions or philosophies are mostly absent from the speaker's lineup, while unorthodox describes many on the list. These include ... Willis Harman, President of the Institute of Noetic Sciences ... he conducted experiments on the effects of psychedelic drugs on human creativity .... Jerry Mander, now an anti-technology author ...."

It was the night before the first Birkbeck test of Uri Geller. Brendan was visibly nervous. He asked me to go with him to see the Soviet science fiction film _Solaris_. Brendan had mentioned that Olaf Stapeldon's science fiction story _Star Maker_, about a time traveling super-intelligence, was based upon real experiences that a high member of British Intelligence [1] had in the nineteen thirties. The big day arrived. Arthur C. Clarke [2] was there with a high official from Rolls Royce. Arthur Koestler [3] was also there along with John Hasted [4], David Bohm and a few others. These events have been described by Martin Gardner [5] and I will not discuss them here. What happened after the tests is more important. If I remember correctly, Brendan and I went with Uri to his hotel room where I met Andrija Puharich [6], Sir John Whitmore and, perhaps, Ira Einhorn [7]. I could be wrong about Einhorn [8]. I startled Uri by asking him if he could trigger a nuclear weapon by psychokinesis. I later found out from Ron Mc Rae [9] that some of our intelligence people were greatly concerned about that possibility. I may have initiated that concern because I had mentioned it several times to large groups of people at several meetings.

I was back in Paris several weeks later with Sharon. Fred Wolf said: "Jack, I'm going to introduce you to a man who will change your life." Fred took me and Sharon to the swank Ritz Hotel. We waited in the lobby and a guy who looked like Richard Gere [10] in a jump suit walks in with a woman. He says: "Hi, I'm Werner Erhard." I had never heard of the guy. I said, "What do you do?" Werner replied: "I make people happy." I thought, "Why am I wasting time with this yo yo?" And, hoping to make a quick exit, said in a sassy Damon Runyon manner, "Oh yeah, I think you must be some kind of an asshole!" Werner's face became positively radiant and he cracked a Mephistophelian [11] smile, embraced me saying: "I will give you money when you come to San Francisco." I was taken aback by an unexpected offer I could not refuse. I was under contract with E.P. Dutton by then and was planning to go to Chicago to finish _Space-Time and Beyond_ at Bob Toben's place. Werner then outlined his plan for me to set up a sort of Ghost Busters team of physicists to research psychic phenomena and in his words "the physics of consciousness." Werner said that he was very interested in physics and that he wanted me and Fred Wolf to tutor him and his "trainers."

We flew to New York. Sharon and I spent a few days with Uri Geller, Ira Einhorn, Bob Toben, Sir John Whitmore and Andrija Puharich at Puharich's large house in Ossining. Puharich gave me his book _URI_. I did not have time to read it but I gave it to my mother in Brooklyn a few days later. My mother was reading the book [12] when she suddenly exclaimed: "Jacky, Jacky, this is what happened to you!" "What happened to me? What are you talking about Ma?" "The computer in the flying saucer that called you on the telephone when you were a little boy. Don't you remember when you got all those phone calls?" An electric shock went through me -- I only remember one phone call. "What do you mean phone calls? I only got one call." "No you didn't! Jacky, what's the matter with you? You got three weeks of these crazy calls. You were on the phone for hours at a time walking around glassy-eyed. I got worried and grabbed the phone away from you. I said, 'Who is this? Why are you calling my son?' I heard that voice. It said it was a computer. It wanted you to come back to the telephone. I said, 'Don't you call back here again,' and hung up and that was that." Not even a super-technological conscious computer on board a flying saucer from the future can argue with an irate Jewish Mother!

Bob Toben drove Sharon and me down to Philadelphia. We stayed with my literary agent Ira Einhorn and his doomed girl friend Holly Maddux [13]. Ira took us to the mainline mansion of Arthur Young. Young was the inventor of the Bell Helicopter and was a close friend of Charles Lindbergh. Young's wife was an heiress of the Forbes Steel fortune. Young financed the Institute for the Study of Consciousness in Berkeley California. He invited me to stay there. Einhorn told me he would introduce me to Stewart Brand, Michael Murphy [14] and George Leonard [15] when I got to San Francisco. He was very concerned about what he called "Soviet breakthroughs in psychotronic weapons of mind control at a distance using ELF and sound waves." He said he had support from the local telephone company and from the Bronfman [16] in Toronto to link up visionary scientists like myself. He also said he was working with Jacques Vallee [17] and Brendan O Regan on a UFO data base. Ira mentioned that he was working with Congressman Charlie Rose (D. North Carolina) of the House Select Committee on Intelligence [18]. Rose confirmed his connection to Einhorn in a telephone conversation with me.

Werner was as good as his word and promptly had his EST Foundation write me an initial $5,000 check (Autumn 1974). Einhorn did his job as my literary agent and arranged a meeting at Arthur Young's Institute in Berkeley that included Michael Murphy, Hazel Henderson [19] and another physicist, Saul Paul Sirag [20], who was Barbara Honegger's [21] lover. Werner gave me free run of his organization which I found rather odd. The estoids all seemed to be glassy-eyed and very creepy [22]. One in particular, Raz Ingrasci, talked about Werner as if he were God-incarnate. One day Raz said he would jump out of a high window if Werner ordered him to. One day I noticed a table with a sign that said "Bulgarian Desk" [23]. There were a lot of pretty young women who were easily available since I was known as one of Werner's special friends -- a Prince of the Court. Werner was always very warm with me and invited me to many dinners both at Franklin House and at expensive restaurants. He never carried any money or credit cards. We were always escorted (in a Mercedes) by a security team, who also paid all the bills.

A former student of physicist John Wheeler [24], Robert Fuller was head of Werner's Foundation. Fuller had been President of Oberlin College but had suffered a mid-life crisis and had fallen under Werner's influence. Fuller now heads the World Watch Institute in Washington. Fuller [25] was jealous of Werner's fondness for me and that this was a factor precipitating my falling out with Werner. I was worried about the crypto-Nazi feel of the est-org, but I had hoped that Werner would get his intellectual act together and say something of genuine interest in terms of physics and philosophy. I was not at all subservient to Werner in his presence like most of the academics that surrounded and apparently adored him. Some of them called him the "new Heidegger" [26]. Professor Irwin Corey [27] made more sense. There was a lot of talk of Werner running for President one day. Werner said he would appoint me to be head of the National Science Foundation. Werner's brother Nathan Rosenberg was in the Navy as an aide to President Carter's Secretary of Defense Harold Brown [28]. Kevin Garvey [29] told me that Werner had fifteen loyal estoids in the Carter White House. Werner was very active with the training of government people in Washington D.C. Carter [30] had created Project Scanate [31] for remote-viewing of military targets by psychics. Werner used remote-viewing in his training, and he also contributed money to SRI for that project.

Sidney was a close friend of the late Bishop Pike. Werner had me meet with several Stanford and U.C. Faculty before he set up the Physics Consciousness Research Group at Esalen with me and Michael Murphy as co-directors. Michael arranged all our activities in Big Sur. Saul Paul Sirag [32] was my chief assistant. Michael arranged for Jean Lanier to supply me with money. Jean, who resembled Shirley MacLaine [33], was the widow of the late Chairman of the Board of Stone-Webster Engineering. Her current husband was an Episcopal Priest, Sidney Lanier. Sidney was a close friend of the late Bishop Pike. He was active in New York off-broadway theater. Sidney was also a close friend of Jose Ferrer, who I resemble. Jean rented a five bedroom suite for us on top of Nob Hill [34]. She was a close friend of Laurance Rockefeller who would telephone the Nob Hill flat looking for her.

I attended the EST April Celebrity Training of 1975. The list of trainees included Ellie Coppola, Sterling Hayden [35], Michael Murphy, Buzz Aldrin [36], Ted Ashley [37], the late Jerry Rubin [38], Fred Wolf, Saul Paul Sirag and many others. Sterling Hayden quickly walked out calling Werner a "Nazi" as he pushed away some estoids who tried to block his passage. Michael Murphy was visibly upset and angry at his close friend Werner. I was sitting with Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, who was having a severe kidney problem. Werner got all confused when he tried to talk about the new physics. He let me explain to the group in ordinary language what he was trying to say in his hypnotic _estspeak_.

The trick of est is to seduce your consciousness by subverting the English language with dominating psycho-babble. It was right out of George Orwell's 1984. The est-training did get every one high. It must have been how the SS officers felt after being indoctrinated as leaders of the Master Race.

I was introduced to Ellie Coppola during a break in the training. She had just read _Space-Time and Beyond_. Ellie invited Fred Wolf and me to her home at 2800 Broadway at 2am after the training. We met her husband Francis Ford Coppola. The first thing Francis said to me was that he did not like Werner Erhard but that he would not tell his wife what to do. Francis has fine moral instincts. I was getting suspicious of Werner [39] especially after I heard the rumor that he said he changed his name from Jack Rosenberg to Werner Erhard to "give up Jewish weakness for German strength."

I started to spend a lot of time at the Coppola's house. I introduced them to Uri Geller and to Einhorn's friend, French UFO scientist Jacques Vallee [40]. I think Steven Spielberg and George Lucas were there as well that time but I am not sure. Vallee became technical consultant to _Close Encounters of the Third Kind_ as a result of that introduction. Francois Trauffaut [41] played the role of Jacques Vallee in the Spielberg film. Ira Einhorn had introduced me to Vallee. Einhorn and Vallee were working together on a computer network project that anticipated the Internet. Einhorn originally introduced me to Hazel Henderson, Arthur Young, Stewart Brand and Michael Murphy. Einhorn at Esalen is described by Willian Irwin Thompson in _The Edge of History_. Congressman Charlie Rose (D. North Carolina) of the House Committee on Intelligence confirmed to me by telephone that Ira was involved in National Security operations. Ira, like O.J. Simpson, always claimed he was framed by "the KGB." It is curious that he was never found. Ira spent weeks at Esalen after he was indicted for the murder of Holly Maddux. Senator Arlen Specter was his defense attorney and one of the Bronfmans from Toronto allegedly paid his legal fees.

I met Jack Nicholson [42], Michael Douglas, Milos Forman, Saul Zaentz and Hans Syberberg [43] at various parties at the Coppola's Broadway mansion and at Tomasso's Restaurant in North Beach where Francis would bake the pizza in the wood-burning oven. Francis was running CITY Magazine. Ellie had Raisa Gustaitus do an article about our Esalen Group called "Faster than the speeding photon." I first met Stephen Schwartz [44] at CITY where he was assisting Warren Hinckle [45]. I once walked into the Caffe Trieste with Francis when Steve Turner walked up to him and aggressively pushed him calling him a "dirty dog." Francis floored Turner with one punch. My meeting with Hans Syberberg at Francis's showing of _Our Hitler_ is of particular importance because it involved a man named "Putzi."

I received a phone call from a man named George Koopman [46] during one of our Esalen seminars in 1976. He asked if he could come to Big Sur. I said yes. Koopman soon became a financial patron of my _Ghost Busters_ [47] at Esalen. Koopman was a close friend of Dan Akroyd [48], and my group was the inspiration for the film Ghost Busters. He provided money through military contracts with the Air Force and the U.S. Army Tank Command funneled through his company Insgroup in Irvine, California.

Koopman was addicted to cocaine and would talk freely when high. He told us that he was related to Arthur Krock, the publisher of the New York Times. He said that he had blown the whistle on U. S. Army Intelligence domestic spying to the New York Times. Koopman said that he had worked on the "kook desk" for the Defense Intelligence Agency and that they were very interested in the kind of new physics we were working on. They were especially interested in machines that could tell the future [49] and in new kinds of aircraft propulsion systems. Koopman liked to show how he could open locked doors with his burglar tools that he always carried in his brief case. He showed me a letter from the military giving him permission to have the tools.

Koopman was very interested in Werner Erhard's tax structure. I took Koopman to meet Werner. Werner was in a room with a large blackboard. On the board were several references to "UFOs" and "extra-terrestrial contacts." Werner did not seem to trust Koopman.

I found out through one of my girlfriends [50] that Koopman succeeded in spying on the Arica organization. Koopman, Sirag and I had heard weird stories from Jan Brewer at Esalen that Arica was started in Chile by high ranking fugitives from the Third Reich who were masters of the occult. Many of the regulars at Esalen, including some of our group like Dr. John Lilly [51] and Claudio Naranjo [52] had been in the first Arica training in Chile. Timothy Leary was released from prison. Leary became part of my group at Esalen. Leary was a close friend of Michael Murphy. George Koopman arranged for Leary and me to lecture together at the Arthur Young's Institute in Berkeley. Koopman spent a lot of money hiring a professional T.V. crew to record us. Robert Anton Wilson, Nick Herbert and Saul Paul Sirag participated in this event. Koopman became Leary's business manager and publisher. Leary's message was SMI2LE (Space Migration Intelligence Increase Life Extension) which is also the message of this book.

Koopman sabotaged me at Esalen by suddenly breaking his contract and stopping the cash flow he had committed. The ostensible reason was that I had insulted the New Age seminarians at Esalen by calling them "idiots and morons," which I did. Werner would say much worse in his trainings. Koopman was very high when he confronted me with this supposed sin. Koopman would show up at the Caffe Trieste on several occasions years later. Koopman was apparently ordered by higher ups to cut me out of the Esalen picture because I was too much of a "loose cannon" that they could not control. They replaced me with my assistant Saul Paul Sirag and with Nick Herbert who continued to run the Esalen seminars. It may be that Koopman's death in 1989 was no accident. That's just a hunch. Chipman's death around the same time as Koopman's may also not have been from natural causes.

I walked into the Caffe Trieste one day in 1979. A young girl, Maiti, said she had written a poem about me. We soon started dating. She said her father was a "senior policy planner" in the government, but she did not agree with his politics and had briefly been in the Weatherman. She showed me a photograph of her Grandfather, who was a German General (Rudel) during World War Two. Her father had met her mother while on Army duty after the war. One day her father telephoned and said that he heard that the Philadelphia Incident [53] was really true. Maiti mentioned that her father had ET contacts as a child like I had. Her father was an Arabic-speaking expert in Middle-East affairs with high level contacts. He once sent me a manuscript on the Qabala and the mystical union between Judaism, Christianity and Islam. One day Maiti showed me a copy of a letter that her father, Robert Dickson Crane [54], wrote of his friend Anthony Weiner at the Hudson Institute. The letter [55] says in part:

"Another individual, who may be just plain crazy but also has a slight chance, in my view of being another Einstein, is Jack Sarfatti, who is plugging his 'faster than light' quantum physics ... The reason I am interested in Sarfatti's ideas is that the full potential of negentropy in human thought can be realized only if Sarfatti is right. ...Assuming that Sarfatti is wrong ... the insights of Minsky and of your own cerebration offer about all that the state of the artificial intelligence art can handle for the next decade anyway. If Sarfatti should ever prove to be right, then our work on negentropy in human thought would have created the tools for tapping whatever potential there is in the 'new physics.'"

I recently had breakfast with Maiti in the Haight-Ashbury. She said her father had recently converted to Islam and wanted to be the first US Army Islamic Chaplain. She also said that her father was a close friend of conservative Pat Buchanan. Herb Caen, in the March 4, 1996 San Francisco Chronicle, cites a wag on the GOP "First they gave us a guy who says 'Read my lips," now they give us a guy who says "Read _Mein Kampf_.'" :-)

Crane's remarks are not that different from Martin Gardner's [56] published statement:

"In recent years Sarfatti has been promoting an invention .... designed to transmit coded information faster than light. I know of no other physicist who thinks it will work. If it does, Sarfatti will become one of the greatest physicists of all time."

I now think that the actual designs I had for faster-than-light communication devices back in 1979 would not have worked. I was remote-viewing my future design with a low signal to noise ratio. Nick Herbert also published a design that would not have worked. I think that today in 1992 I do have a design that will work that I will explain later on. Only experiment will decide. The point here is that if my weird physics turns out to be right, then it is evidence for my being a contactee of either alien extra-terrestrials or advanced humans or artificial intelligences from our future. If my physics turns out to be wrong, then I am just plain nuts [57], and you wasted your money on rubbish -- but perhaps you had fun on the way. I feel like Zorba the Greek in this matter -- if you remember the last scene of the movie you'll get my meaning.

My adventures with two more women during this period are worth mentioning before moving on to the next Act. One named Crystal picked me up in the Caffe Trieste. She was a statuesque blonde in a low cut green evening dress. Crystal said she belonged to a Coven of Beautiful Witches [58], who wanted me to be their Warlock. This was not so crazy in Frisco back then. After we made love she introduced me to a real nut who called himself Damian Zarrow. He said he was from Esalen and that he was in contact with extra-terrestrials and that he was testifying before a Senate Committee. I later found out that Crystal knew another girl friend of mine from Esalen named Betty Andreason. I have since heard of a woman by that name, who claims to have been abducted by UFOs. I don't know if its the same woman.

In view of the present-day Esalen-Erhard-Yeltsin-Gorbachev connections [59], the 1979 Esalen-UFO connection is significant. Even though I had split with Werner Erhard by late 1977, EST's Raz Ingrasci phoned me and asked me to meet with Jenny O Conner. Raz said that Jenny had been sent to Werner by Sir John Whitmore who had funded Andrija Puharich's collaborations with Uri Geller back in 1973. Jenny claimed to be channeling messages from "The Nine" -- the same extra-terrestrials that Puharich wrote about. In view of my own contact in 1952 I should have been more diplomatic with Jenny when she came to my apartment at 2 Whiting Place -- the apartment that Michael Murphy had given me. Jenny impressed me as total fraud, and I practically kicked her out. I was verbally very rude. Jenny and The Nine [60] was promptly installed at Esalen for quite some time overlapping with visits by the late physicist Heinz Pagels, Congressman Charlie Rose, Ira Einhorn, and high ranking Russians from Georgy Arbatov's Moscow Institute of US and Canada, which was influential during Gorbachev's watch.

This list is not complete. Vladimir Posner is an important fellow in all this according to Schwartz and Tinkerman. The fact remains, the iron post of observation that a bunch of apparently California New Age flakes into UFOs and psychic phenomena, _including myself_, had made their way into the highest levels of the American ruling class and the Soviet Union and today run the Gorbachev Foundation.

Did these influential Russian policy pundits get high in the hot tubs of Esalen as has been alleged by right-wing theorists? My current lady friend, who was living near Esalen at the time, and spent a lot of time there with Richard Feynman, says that drugs were not used in the Soviet-Esalen Exchange. If they got high, it was the magic of Esalen and the meditative serenity of the incredible natural environment and spiritual stimulation that Michael Murphy has catalyzed over the years.

Was Jan Brewer telling the truth about the Fourth Reich using Arica to influence the New Age? Brewer was part of the original Esalen group of forty that went to Chile for the first Arica training with Oscar Ichazo [67]. Arica was big at Esalen at the same time that the Soviets were soaking in the hot tubs. Was I pulled out of the operation by George Koopman because in his opinion I was unpredictable and uncontrollable? Or is the truth still even stranger than even I can imagine? Was Michael Murphy a brilliant Puppet Master or merely a lucky charming "useful idiot," a Forrest Gump character like me? Was Ira Einhorn framed? Was Jean Nadal murdered? Was Francois Trauffaut murdered? Was Harold Chipman [68] murdered? Was George Koopman murdered? Is this all my Walter Mitty paranoid exaggeration? What do you think?

[1] It is curious that the quote from I. J. Good is about such an intelligence. Good worked with Alan Turing during W.W.II on MKULTRA, which broke the Nazi war codes with the Enigma machine. A curious exchange happened between Good and myself. I wrote another paper for Psychoenergetic Systems. Good sent me a copy of his paper on super-intelligence. The two papers were remarkably similar. So similar that Good suspected me of plagiarism -- though he did not go so far as to accuse me. In fact, I had not seen Good's paper until he sent me a copy of it. I take this as evidence for a close encounter with super-intelligence lending some credibility to my 1952 phone call from the computer.

[2] Author of _Childhood's End_ about the kind of super-intelligence I suggest actually exists and is in contact with us.

[3] Author of the classic _Darkness at Noon_. Koestler graciously invited Sharon and I to his home for drinks with his wife.

[4] John Hasted, a jolly fellow, was head of the Physics Department at Birkbeck. Birkbeck, created by J.D. Bernal, had a reputation of being very left wing and sympathetic to the Soviet Union. I never encountered this aspect directly in the physics department. Bernal wrote a very important essay, "The World, The Flesh and The Devil," in the 1930's about super-intelligence in the far future.

[5] _Magic and Paraphysics in Science, Good, Bad and Bogus_, (Prometheus, 1981). Gardner was an editor for Scientific American.

[6] Andrija Puharich M.D. worked for Army Intelligence in the early fifties and wrote one of the first studies on psychedelic drugs. Puharich was Geller's case officer in America with money provided by Sir John Whitmore. Ira Einhorn worked closely with Andrija Puharich as well as with Esalen's Michael Murphy and George Leonard.

[7] Einhorn's biography is _The Unicorn's Secret_ by Steve Levy. Einhorn is still at large as a fugitive from justice. He may be innocent of the murder of Holly Maddux. Opening up KGB files might tell the truth.

[8] I recall meeting Einhorn and Puharich in London when I stayed with Brendan O Regan at Joyce Petchek's palatial mansion which had its own olympic-sized swimming pool in the basement. Joyce was a Jewish American Princess who "channeled" an ancient Egyptian Princess. I may have angered her when it became obvious I was more interested in her erotic body than her auric body during her private seance with me. I felt like Groucho Marx in _Animal Crackers_. Joyce, Brendan and I made a pilgrimage to Paris to see Carlo Suares in the spring of 1974.

[9] A reporter for Jack Anderson who wrote _MIND WARS_ (St. Martin's), which credits my help. Mc Rae spent a week with me in North Beach researching his book.

[10] I was introduced to Richard Gere outside the Caffe Trieste by my old friend Marcus Demian, who helped him get started in Hollywood.

[11] One time, at Franklin House (the equivalent of Hitler's Brown House), Werner joked with me "I am the Devil!"

[13] Blinded by the Light, The Einhorn-Maddux Murder Case, "... Ira Einhorn was the foremost exponent and most celebrated relic of the counterculture, which _Hair_ celebrated..."

[14] Michael Murphy told me that he and his brother were the models for the brothers in John Steinbeck's _East of Eden_. Steinbeck was a close friend of Michael's grandfather who owned the coastal land that Esalen is built on. Michael gave me his apartment on 2 Whiting Street on Telegraph Hill. Michael is very charming and appears to be very naive. He was most likely a "useful idiot" of the KGB in the "psychic war raging across the continents between the Soviet Union and your country" (as Dennis Bardens described it in the Blue Boar Inn) rather than a "Puppet Master." On the other hand, Michael is well aware of the PSI WAR and describes very well in his book _The End to Ordinary History_. I had dinner with him recently at the Pelican Inn in Marin at a party celebrating Lawry Chickering's marriage to Serena Mondavi. Michael said he wanted me to return to Esalen but he apparently is not a man of his word.

[15] As editor of Look in the 60's, Leonard wrote the article that launched the Haight Ashbury "Flower Children" as the advance wave of a coming "Transformation" of world consciousness. Leonard also wrote the first major article on alleged psychics in the Soviet Union. George was definitely fooled by the KGB because all of the Soviet psychic claims were transparent disinformation. It is interesting that the Soviets knew what was going to be in _Space-Time and Beyond_ before it was published. Bill Whitehead of Dutton asked me to credit some Russian with the discovery of "bio-gravitation" which, in the Soviet formulation, was a bogus idea.

[17] Vallee gives us a very important clue about the occult-Nazi connection to UFOs and Jenny and The Nine at Esalen on pp. 192 & 193 of _Messengers of Deception_: "...contactee George Adamski had prewar connections with American fascist leader William Dudley Pelly, who died in 1965, was the leader of the Silver Shirts ... Dr. Laughhead, who ... launched Dr. Andrija Puharich on the tracks of the mythic SPECTRA, is also thought to have associated with this group." SPECTRA reappears as Jenny O Conner and THE NINE brought to Esalen by Werner Erhard and Puharich's patron Sir John Whitmore.

[18] a) "Rose ... advocates launching a 'Manhattan Project type' effort to develop the [psychic] weapons. 'The Soviets are up to their ass in this stuff,' he told Mc Rae, 'and we shouldn't fall behind.'"

b) "The witnesses Rose would call include CIA officials, who, Rose said, 'know this remote-viewing stuff works but who have been blocked by publicity-shy superiors.'"

[19] I met Hazel Henderson again when we were both speakers at the San Francisco Art Institute along with Angela Davis.

[20] Sirag spent the first five years of his life in a Japanese prison camp on Borneo where his parents were Missionaries. He played Mr. Spock to my Captain Kirk in the Physics Consciousness Research Group until George Koopman torpedoed it. Sirag then lived with Barbara Honegger in a flat provided by Henry Dakin.

[21] Honegger worked with Jim Hickman, Michael Murphy and Brendan O Regan. Barbara told me of a strange encounter with Brendan O Regan in which trance medium Ingo Swann spoke with a cold metallic voice and said that it was a computer from a hundred years into the future. She actually was doing some interesting work in synchronicity. Barbara sued Stanford Professor Karl Pribram in an assault case and won. She went to work for Martin Anderson at the Hoover Institute and followed Anderson to Reagan's white House in 1981. I warned Lawry Chickering that Barbara was a loose cannon. Sure enough she quit the White House saying that the Reaganites were unfair to women. She has accused the Reagan team of the "October Surprise." Barbara says that Bill Casey arranged that the American hostages in Iran not be released until Reagan was elected. Stephen Schwartz says Barbara is lying. Knowing Barbara I do not think she is consciously lying, but, perhaps has been misled. She is quite idealistic, but naive.

[22] In fact Phil Kaufmann's remake of _Invasion of the Body_ Snatchers set in San Francisco imitates the behavior of the hard core estoids. I would not be surprised if some of them were androids off a flying saucer. :-)

[23] I also met Bulgarians doing "psychic research"visiting Henry Dakin's laboratory where Michael Murphy and Jim Hickman were doing their psychic-Soviet project. An army friend, in a position to know, told me that all the Bulgarians in America at that time were KGB agents. Stephen Schwartz of the neo-conservative Institute for Contemporary Studies, who is an expert on Soviet Communism, confirmed my friend's statement. Werner and Michael Murphy have spent lots of time in the Soviet Union before and after it fell. In fact, Werner has appeared to run back to Moscow now that the IRS indicted him for multi-million dollar tax fraud. Will Werner become a political power in the New Russia?

[24] Wheeler worked with Einstein and Bohr and was Richard Feynman's thesis advisor at Princeton. Wheeler is the Merlin of Physics, and a lot of my ideas were inspired by his visionary writings. I suspect Wheeler is channeling messages from the future telepathically as are some other physicists like his former student Kip Thorne and also David Deutsch. Of course Wheeler and the others may have no idea that they may be caught in the Destiny Matrix!

[25] Fuller arranged a series of expensive junkets for famous physicists as part of Werner's plan to gain respectability in his megalomaniacal drive for influence and world power. Rev. Moon does exactly the same thing. San Francisco Chronicle science reporter Charles Petit wrote on Wed. Jan 28, 1981 (p.32):

"An unusual closed-door meeting of more than a dozen of the world's foremost physicists , including at least three Nobel Prize winners, has been held under the sponsorship of est-founder Werner Erhard in San Francisco..."

The list of physicists included Murray Gell-Mann, Stephen Hawking, Leonard Susskind, and David Finkelstein. I had introduced Finkelstein to Werner when I brought Finkelstein to Esalen. Susskind (who is now a professor at Stanford), Jonathan Glogower and I had worked together in 1963 as students at Cornell on the problem of coherent phase in quantum mechanics. I had formulated the problem when I worked for Tech/Ops in 1963. In fact I mention my work with Susskind and Glogower in a paper I published in Il Nuovo Cimento (March, 1963). I had arranged for Glogower to get into Cornell as a graduate student through Phil Morrison even though Glogower never got a BA degree (Susskind also did not finish his BA degree). Glogower and I were friends since age eleven. He was a Westinghouse Science Finalist. I knew him when I received the UFO phone call in 1952. Glogower never did anything other than that one paper with me and Susskind. Susskind said that that paper is the only one he may be remembered for. It is extensively quoted. I went off to work at Ford Aeronutronics in California. In the meantime Susskind finished and published the work we had started together and never even gave me an acknowledgement as would have been proper but not expedient. Oddly enough, the phase paper appears in the same issue that published John Bell's paper on nonlocality, which is the key idea of the physics part of this book. Petit continues:

"The meeting chairman was theoretical physicist Leonard Susskind of Stanford University ...An est spokesman, Doug Bell, said Susskind wanted word passed that 'it's not like there is anything to hide here. It's just a few fellows having a meeting. But where it's at for them is that it doesn't want or merit the kind of attention that you are going to give it.'"

[27] Corey used to hang out at Enrico's Cafe where I spent a lot of time with Marshall Naify, Chairman of the Board of United Artist Theaters. Werner started est in offices above Enrico's.

[29] Garvey, who lives in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, near the Army War College, has collected all kinds of data on Werner and other cult figures. Garvey came to see me in North Beach years ago. He was concerned about New Age penetration of the US Army.

[30] Carter met Uri Geller on a State Visit to the President of Mexico. Geller fooled Carter like he fooled me, Bohm and Hasted. An intelligence friend of mine told me that Geller was having an affair with the wife of the President of Mexico at the time. I had been contacted by an American intelligence agent for an evaluation of Geller before Carter made the trip as part of the security for the trip.

[31] Former Naval Intelligence Officer and Jack Anderson reporter Ron Mc Rae told me that the Navy had been fooled by phony data on remote-viewing of Soviet submarines because someone had leaked the actual data to the phony psychics. Mc Rae seems to have omitted this story from his book _MIND WARS_. Barbara Honegger said that policy decisions on the basing of MX missiles were made by the Reagan staff under the belief that remote-viewing worked. Harold Chipman believed that it worked and told me that he had used it successfully in his business. Indeed, he introduced me to a glamorous private detective, V, as one of his best performers in remote-viewing operations. V and I became lovers. She confirmed that she had participated in experiments with Chipman. V was like the Princess in Cocteau's _Orfee_ "une espionne chargee de surveiller un homme et qui le suave en se perdant," in Cocteau's words.

[32] Robert Anton Wilson, who was part of our Esalen Seminars, quotes Sirag extensively in his books.

[33] Shirley MacLaine quotes me in her book _Dancing in the Light_. She got the title from Gary Zukav's _Dancing Wu Li Masters_. I always had a crush on Shirley. Shirley if you read this get in touch! I want Mel Brooks to do the screen play of my story with Gene Wilder playing me. :-)

[38] Famous yippy in Chicago 1968. Rubin, recently killed by a car, became a loyal estoid on Wall Street. I worked with his girl friend, Estelle Resnick, in forming the Peace and Freedom Party in San Diego in the late sixties.

[39] I was in the position of the actor in the German film _Mephisto_. You will see later how this ties in with Rashi Zarfati's relation to Godfroi de Bouillon, Margherita Sarfatti's relation to Mussolini and Putzi Sedgwick-Hanfstaengl's relation to Hitler.

[40] Author of _Messengers of Deception_ about UFOs and _The Network Revolution_. It describes est influence in Silicon Valley computer firms.

[41] I met a friend of Trauffaut's at Esalen, a young French playwright named Jean Reisser Nadal. He was investigating the New Age movement for French National Radio. He stayed with me in San Francisco and told me he had discovered some disturbing political connections including a plan to assassinate Nelson Rockefeller. I took him to the airport. A few months later I received an invitation to his funeral at Pere La Chaise cemetery. I had Michel Roure speak to Jean's girl friend. She said that Jean kept saying, "contact Jack Sarfatti," before he died. His death was do to a sudden onset of bone cancer. This is the way Harold Chipman also died. I am told that radioactive poisoning has been used for murder by intelligence organizations. Trauffaut is also dead. Nadal told me that he and Trauffaut were planning to write a screenplay or documentary based upon his research. I alerted a friend in American intelligence about the threat to Rockefeller and Nadal's death. Rockefeller did die soon after under odd circumstances.

[42] I was told that John Updike used me as the model for Daryl Van Horne in _Witches of Eastwick_. Nicholson played this role in the movie. I had been dating Suky Sedgwick and Updike uses the name Suky in the book. Eastwick sounds like Sedgwick. Updike knows the story of the Sedgwicks and apparently knows about my work in the new physics since he alludes to it in both Eastwick and his book _Roger's Version_. If, on the other hand, Updike did not know about me and Suky then we have a remarkable meaningful coincidence suggesting a sense of humor in what John Lilly calls "Cosmic Coincidence Control."

[43] Hans Syberberg has made two films, _Our Hitler and Parsifal_. Francis Coppola distributed Our Hitler in America. I watched this six hour film with Syberberg in Francis's private theater. Although I did not realize its significance then, _Our Hitler_ has Putzi Sedgwick-Hanfstaengl as a central image. I met Putzi's grandson at around the same time.

[44] Stephen Schwartz was a red-diaper baby turned neoconservative. Edie Sedgwick's niece, Leila Minturn Dwight, introduced Stephen to A. Lawrence Chickering at the Caffe Trieste. Chickering's grandfather had worked with Leila's great grandfather, Henry De Forest, who had run the Southern Pacific Railroad at the turn of the century. Schwartz became a force at Chickering's Institute for Contemporary Studies. His most recent book is _A Strange Silence_ about the rise of democracy in Nicaragua. Both Schwartz and Chickering write for the San Francisco Chronicle.

[45] Hinckle took me drinking several times at a policeman's bar on Kearny Street in the Barbary Coast near Coppola's building. Coppola's office is designed to look like Captain Nemo's submarine in Jules Verne's _Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea_. In some ways Francis is a genius kid who never grew up. He likes to collect all kinds of toys. He has the power to make his fantasies real.

[46] "George A. Koopman Dies in Car; Technologist for Space Was 44 ... an entrepreneur in space technology who founded the American Rocket Company lived in Malibu. ...Mr. Koopman's career included being an intelligence analyst in the Vietnam War, a maker of military training films for the Government and the coordinator of spectacular stunts in the 1980 movie _The Blues Brothers_.... the activity that gained Mr. Koopman the most attention was stunt coordinator for _The Blues Brothers_, which starred John Belushi and Dan Akroyd ..."

[49] a) "Interest in the military potential of ESP... has grown in recent years. Some of it stems from the search for reliable and jamming-free modes of communication. A popular wave of interest in ESP stemmed from a boom in the occult and supernatural phenomena in the late 1960's and early 1970's, a time when ESP research in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union also attracted popular attention. Some scientists in the West have feared that the mounting fascination with ESP, in league with the resurgence in the occult and mysticism, threatens science itself ... b) "It is generally believed that the Soviets and their allies are well in the lead in parapsychological research ... Telepathic behavior modification, which includes the ability to induce hypnotic states up to distances in excess of 1,000 kilometers, has been reported. ...The ability to mentally move objects has also been repeatedly demonstrated under scientifically controlled conditions. ...test subjects, targeted against strategic sites in both the USSR and the People's Republic of China, were able to penetrate secured areas to retrieve desired data via out-of-body travel ..."

d) Ch 2 of Howard Blum's _OUT THERE_ describes a Project Scanate session of remote-viewing of Soviet submarines and Mikhail Gorbachev's country dacha as late as 1985 in the office of George Keyworth, President Reagan's Science Advisor. "...this new channel is employed by focusing on specific latitudinal and longitudinal information ... the demonstration centered on the possible use of psychic powers in antisubmarine warfare."

[51] Lilly has written an important book called _The Scientist_ in which he describes his contacts with super-intelligences from the future while under the influence of ketamine. The kind of world Lilly describes is the world that I am arguing for in this book. Lilly was a close friend of the great physicist the late Richard Feynman. Lilly was at Esalen when high ranking Soviet officials were there. To what extent have the events leading to the fall of the Soviet state been caused by the Esalen drug experiences of Soviet leaders? Both Yeltsin and Gorbachev are closely tied to Esalen as is Werner Erhard. Even Lawry Chickering of ICS has mentioned the importance of Esalen in the neoconservative movement. This is the same Esalen that gave seminars by an alleged discarnate group of extra-terrestrials called "The Nine". Andrija Puharich writes about "The Nine" in _URI_. My ex-book agent Ira Einhorn spent six weeks at Esalen after he was indicted for the murder of Holly Maddux. Congressman Charlie Rose who believed the KGB disinformation on PSI WARS has also given seminars at Esalen -- strange goings on for sure. Esalen's Jim Garrison? was also a co-founder of the Christic Institute. How did Dr. John Mack of Harvard Medical School get involved in this? Mack was tech advisor for CBS mini series on UFO abductions. Mack is a founder of Physicians for Social Responsibility and has a Pulitzer for a book on _Lawrence of Arabia_. Mack told me that he heard that Gorbachev has had a UFO contact experience.

[52] Naranjo, Fred Wolf and I were in Brasil together in 1985 as keynote speakers at the First International Congress on the Mind/Matter Interaction paid for by IBM Brasil. I met many wealthy and powerful people in Brasil including Army Generals. They all think Uri Geller has real paranormal powers and none of them doubted the reality of UFOs. A retired general showed me elaborately twisted pieces of metal that he claimed he saw bent psychokinetically by local versions of Uri Geller. He also claimed to have seen UFO landings in the Amazon jungle.

[53] A Navy ship in WWII allegedly went through what Kip Thorne calls a "traversable wormhole time machine".

[59] It is odd that Esalen sponsored Yeltsin's visit and also runs the Gorbachev Foundation since Yeltsin and Gorbachev are not on the best of terms.

The Nine, "NSS." Saul Paul says, "It could be some Navy thing." The Nine, "You called it National Security Service. They called it just the SS." Saul Paul says, "Secret Service?" Jim Hickman says, "I can believe that." Hickman asks, "You talked about Project Henry ..." The Nine, "All CIA involved." Hickman, "All?" The Nine, "Yes." Later on in transcript Hickman says, "... Solvitschg'otsk, which is north east of Moscow, where a great deal of secret military research is being done. The Nine, "This facility is highly armed and Soviet's most important work goes on there. Room B12." Jenny, like Barbarella, takes over her own mind and says, "Can I ask you about ... and hooking up with the brainwave machine?"

[67] Oddly enough, a novel called _Speed of Light_ was published in Berkeley in the late 70's by a woman. The plot was similar to the Brewer story and it involved a character resembling Werner Erhard.

[68] Chipman started funding my work in 1985. He said he had secretly funded part of the SRI work in remote viewing. He also introduced me to V. He was involved with a Texas Company TLC and a man named Joe Peeple's who was indicted for selling arms to Iran in the mid-80's.

Phillip K. Dick, the late schizoid, Sci-Fi author and Ira ("The Unicorn") Einhorn, sixties radical activist turned seventies New Age networker cum fugitive axe-murderer, began a correspondence in early February of '78 centered around Dick's firmly held (on shaky ground) belief that the Russians were beaming psychotronic transmissions via satellite into his already somewhat disturbed mind.

According to Dick -- often known for his far-out flights of paranoiac fancy -- these "microwave-boosted, telepathic transmissions," as

he called them, commenced on March 20, 1974, showering Dick with endless reams and streams of visual and audio data. Initially, this overpowering onslaught of messages Phil reluctantly received were extremely unpleasant and, as he termed them, "die

messages." Within the following week he reported being kept awake by "violet phosphene activity, eight hours uninterrupted." A description of this event in a fictionalized version appears in Dick's brilliant, though demented, anti-drug novel _A Scanner, Darkly_. The content of this phosphene activity was in the form of modern, abstract graphics followed by Soviet music serenading his head, in addition to Russian names and words appearing there as well. The ever speculating Phil conjectured that a radical drop in GABA fluid -- in his brilliant but balmy brain -- might've accounted for these strange voices and images, though he was at a loss to further explain exactly what would have precipitated such a drop in his GABA fluid, which conveniently lent more credence to his original theory, as crazy as it sounded to even his own buzzing ears, tuned into -- as they were -- this foreign frequency that had invaded his mind.

In recent years various info on remote mind-control technology has filtered into the conspiracy research community through various fringe publications such as _Full Disclosure_, _Resonance_ and countless others including a Finnish gentleman by the name of Martti Koski and his booklet _My Life Depends On You_. Over the years Mr. Koski has been sharing with our mind controlled world at large his horrifying tale, documenting as it does the discovery of rampant brain tampering committed upon himself and others, including documents concerning one Robert Naeslund, another victim of brain-research. The perpetrators of these evil doings included, allegedly, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RMCP), The CIA and Finnish Intelligence among countless other covert intelligence agencies. (In _Secret and Suppressed_, edited by Jim Keith, a remote mind-control testimonial appears entitled "An Open Letter To The Swedish Prime Minister Regarding Electromagnetic Terror", authored by the aforementioned R. Naeslund.)

Another legendary figure in the arcane annals of conspiracy research -- and ranter extraordinaire -- Kerry Wendell Thornley claims that while serving in the Marines with his buddy Lee Oswald, he became subject to just this sort of mind-control scenario; having had planted -- unbeknownst to him at the time -- into the base of his neck, some sort of high tech implant which enabled Thornley to receive malevolent transmissions from military intelligence or others of that ilk, who were tampering with Thornley's brain for reasons far too complex to even attempt to broach at this time, as it would swerve us away from the topic at hand into even weirder realms concerning a genetic breeding experiment which Thornley believes he fell prey to at the hands of Nazi controllers. Along this same twisted line, I'm reminded of an incident related to me a few years ago when a close friend of mine suffered a nervous breakdown, and was diagnosed a paranoid schizophrenic as a result of malevolent voices he was hearing in his head. My friend believed that a group called "The Laser People" were trying to drive him bonkers (and perhaps succeeded) via lasers, which were perhaps, more accurately, psychotronic devices beaming these voices his way. He's doing better these days, I'm glad to say, due to a medication that quiets these voices in his mind. But I often wonder if, in fact, my friend was the unfortunate recipient of a mind-control experiment. And if this is the case, then did his malevolent controllers meet their objective, in that they now have another narcotized subject under their control, who poses no threat to their power control-structure? I'm not implying my friend was some great threat to this power structure, but he was indeed a rebellious character, and if they could do this to him on an experimental basis, then maybe it would work on others whom the "invisible government" deems dangerous.

Dick initiated his correspondence with Ira Einhorn due to a letter written by Einhorn that Phil read in _CoEvolution_ in early '78, which examined the work of Nicola Tesla vis-a-vis the transmission of electric energy through the ethers without aid of electrical power lines. From the mid to late seventies, Einhorn -- also known as "The Unicorn" -- had constructed a vast network of contacts in the intent of creating, as he described it, "...an international conspiracy to make the planet more livable." Among these contacts was Lt. Col. Thomas Bearden, author of several books including _Fer-De-Lance: A Briefing on Soviet Scalar Electromagnetic Weapons_, which contends that the Russians -- through the use of this hidden technology that Tesla discovered around the turn of the century -- had been not only modifying US weather patterns with electromagnetic waves but as well had developed a "death ray" which they were using in the late seventies/early eighties in Afghanistan.

Ira Einhorn -- a sixties radical -- first emerged to major media prominence as master of ceremonies for the first "Earth Day" in Philadelphia, in 1970. This instant recognition gave Einhorn immediate access to the best minds of his generation. Furthermore, his networking and consulting skills not only enamored him with those in The New Age movement, but also captured the imaginations of such corporate giants as AT&T who hired Einhorn as a consultant to better tap them into the New Age information highway that was just then underway.

Shockingly -- on April 28, 1979 -- the remains of Einhorn's long time girlfriend, Holly Maddux, were found in a steamer trunk in Einhorn's apartment, the victim of an axe-murder. Einhorn was subsequently arrested, but denied murdering Maddux, saying -- in essence -- that The CIA had set him up because of certain information he'd become privy to through his vast network of Aquarian conspirators. Einhorn hired former Warren Commission lawyer Arlen Spector to represent him, which takes this tale on another sordid twist, in that Specter was the infamous creator of "The Magic Bullet Theory" which convicted a defenseless Lee Oswald from the grave. While out on bond, Einhorn skipped the country, and has been seen in recent years in Ireland -- among other foreign countries -- assuming a false identity with a new girlfriend. When in Ireland someone discovered his identity, The Unicorn promptly left for parts unknown, and the last I heard is still at large to this day.

Did The Unicorn perhaps stumble upon certain dark secrets regarding psychotronics and mind control that led him into a frame job by intelligence agents? The evidence against Einhorn -- according to Steven Levy in _The Unicorn's Secret: Murder in the Age of Aquarius_ -- seemed quite incriminating. Even some of Einhorn's staunchist supporters -- who, when informed of the Maddux murder, stood unflinchingly by his side -- afterwards came to doubt Einhorn when the evidence became apparent that in fact he was most likely guilty of the crime. The one person who seems to have stood by Ira Einhorn all the way down the line was Tom Beardon, who -- as stated before -- shared many of the Unicorn's conspiracy theories regarding the use of psychotronics to monitor and control human behavior and modify weather patterns. Unfortunately, we'll probably never know the full story of what happened to Holly Maddux, and if this whole sordid tale was spun around a tangled web of psychotronics, murder and mind control with Ira Einhorn made the ceremonial scapegoat to a tragic conspiracy.

In all my readings of Dick, I've never once seen mention of anything in regards to brain implants, which I find rather odd in that all the other cases where I've researched this sort of brain tampering, implants seem always to play a pivotal role. Personally, I believe Phil might've received a brain implant during dental surgery which occurred just prior to his fabled first visit from VALIS (Vast Active Living Intelligence System) chronicled in his novel's _Radio Free Albemuth_, and, of course, _VALIS_, the fictionalized accounts of these bizarre, though real life occurrences which began in March, 1974. (Also see the autobiographical account of this documented in Dick's _Exegesis_.)

As the story goes, Phil went one day to have some major work done on his teeth, and later -- when he arrived back home -- a delivery was made from the local pharmacy of a pain killer to soothe Phil's aching mouth. The deliverer of this bottle of relief was none other than a hip, foxy chick, with a "Christian fish" hanging from her neck. I'll not pursue now the deep significance of this Christian fish symbol, but suffice it to say it's impact upon Phil was enormous in respect to the events that transpired after this fish swam into his life over rolling waves of breast and cleavage. The young lady in question said a few cryptic words then mysteriously disappeared forever into the ocean of human life. Phil theorized that this young lady -- who claimed to be a Christian -- delivered unto him at this time some sort of veiled gnostic knowledge, which proceeded to unfold it's answers gradually to a whole host of hidden metaphysical secrets for several years afterwards.

Another scenario might have been that this young lady was on an intelligence mission, delivering some kind of drug to not only soothe Phil's pain ridden mouth, but that would also help activate the hidden devices that'd surreptiously been inserted into his head during the dental surgery. Another possible explanation is that the short cryptic sentence "The Fish Lady" uttered was in reality some sort of codeword which triggered this mind-control apparatus into operation. Oddly enough, it was later, on this very same day, that Phil's "visions" first appeared.

To suggest that a dentist might have planted psychotronic receptors into the mouth and head of the greatest science fiction writer of all time might seem utterly preposterous, but nonetheless connections of certain dentists to mind-control implants is not a new one, and the opportunity to insert said devices during dental surgery -- while the patient's anesthetized mind is off dancing in the merry land of nitrous oxide -- is most definitely there, and one that wouldn't readily be suspected by his/her patient/victim.

According to master conspiratologist John Judge, Uri Geller's "...dentist was the person who first developed the patents on six different of the earliest mind-control devices for the CIA and military intelligence, which were actually radio transmitter implants into the jaw and teeth so that instructions could be heard through the teeth..." quoting Judge verbatim.

Coincidentally, (or maybe not so coincidentally) Ira Einhorn had formed an intense relationship with not only Uri Geller but with his mentor, Dr. Andrija Puharich, whose respective characters in recent years have both been called into question in regards to suspicious intelligence contacts and the spread of disinformation and hoax proliferation vis-a-vis UFO's and psychic phenomena.

What interest, one might ask, would intelligence agencies have had in Phil Dick? Well, one area might have been his anti-war stance, where -- in the late sixties -- Phil signed a petition which appeared in _Ramparts_ opposing America's involvement in Vietnam. Shortly thereafter, his apartment was ransacked and a safe blown open, and various documents stolen. Phil at the time suspected the CIA and/or FBI to be responsible for the break-in.

Even though at the outset, Phil felt the emanations invading his mind were of a malevolent nature, in time he began to believe they were something entirely different. In a letter to Einhorn dated February 10, 1978, Phil went into more depth on these psychotronic transmissions, claiming that they "seemed sentient." Phil felt that an alien life form existing in some upper layer of the Earth's atmosphere had been attracted by the Soviet psychotronic transmissions. Apparently, this alien life form operated as a "station," tapping into some sort of interplanetary communication grid that, "...contained and transmitted vast amounts of information." Initially, what Phil received were the Soviet transmissions, but eventually this alien life form -- whom Phil called "Zebra" (and later, VALIS) -- became "...attracted or potentiated by the Soviet microwave psychotronic transmissions," which paralleled similar experiences Nicola Tesla had had with ETI's, where Tesla had been contacted by "...what he believed to be signals from another planet," quoting Einhorn from _CoEvolution_.

Over the years that followed, this alien entity -- according to Dick -- vastly improved his mental and physical well being in a number of ways. It (Zebra) gave Phil "...complex and accurate information about myself and also about our infant son, which, Zebra said, had a critical and undiagnosed birth defect which required emergency and immediate surgery. My wife rushed our baby to the doctor and told the doctor what I had said (more precisely what Zebra had said to me) and the doctor discovered that it was so. Surgery was scheduled for the following day -- i.e., as soon as possible. Our son would have died otherwise." (Phil wasn't just blowing smoke about this incident. His wife Tessa, and others have since confirmed this story regarding the medical conditions of himself and son, Christopher.)

Phil felt Zebra was totally benign, and it held great contempt for the Soviets and their psychotronic experiments. Furthermore, Zebra informed Phil that the Earth was dying, and that spraycans were "...destroying the layer of atmosphere in which Zebra...existed."

Some have questioned whether in fact Phil had created an immense hoax re: Zebra/VALIS, or if he was, actually, "crazy as a soapdish," as Harlan Ellison recently stated in an interview with Larry King. Were his visions simply delusions -- as many believe -- which Phil tried to make some sense of throughout his many entries in the _Exegesis_? From a clinical standpoint, a condition known as "frontal lobe epilepsy" might explain these visions which appeared to Phil. Or could it all have been exactly as Phil first assumed: Psychotronic mind-control transmissions beamed at him from Russia, or God knows where else?

Or was ol' Phil just pulling our gullible legs? The same could be asked of Kerry Thornley, and his many tall tales of sinister spiders spinning conspiratorial webs.

My response is, well, yes, they both probably have pulled our legs a bit, but so what? It's sure made the world a helluva lot more interesting place to live in -- has it not -- what with the twisted tales they've shared of alien and foreign influences beaming microwave missives into their abstruse minds?
