it's NEPTUNE which turned RETROGRADE yesterday
| Good Morning, To all my friends and relatives in the 'United States Of Amnesia' a phrase insightfully given to us by Gore Vidal, one of our Nation's finest writers, and a phrase which I hope you all hold actively in your collective awareness on a daily basis because it points to what is relentlessly unfolding in our lives. I'm talking about 'memory loss' both short and long-term. Today in America is a holiday labeled as "Memorial Day" and focused, supposedly, on remembering and honoring those who have served America in her endless wars as she has swollen into the bloated, immoral, and decadent Empire we know today. Personally, I'm not very interested in remembering dead soldiers since I've had from earliest childhood a great dislike of war and fighting, and for some reason -certainly not related to my formal education in American schools- I've always 'known' that the Nation into which I was born is based on Genocide. I guess that's because as a little boy I was told the typical tale of Columbus discovering America and the equally specious tale known as 'The First Thanksgiving Day'. But as I looked around me in Baltimore, Maryland I didn't see any Indians! When I asked my family, friends, and school teachers what happened to the Indians, where did they all go ... nobody seemed to know. They were still here, somewhere, living on something called "Reservations" but nobody seemed to care very much about these Indians or their Reservations, and besides, I was told, the Indians were just "savages"! From the tone of these responses I quickly grasped that asking about Indians irritated people in Baltimore City. I mean, "Indians" ? What's that got to do with anything here and now? Or, as many of you reading this right now might be asking: "What's up with this crap? Why's he talking about Indians, Memorial Day, and Amnesia? Who the hell cares?" Well, folks, I'll tell you what ... today I noticed that Mercury, astrological symbol of the Mind, turns around (so to speak) and goes into backward or "retrograde' motion in the zodiac and it does so precisely at 21 degrees and 32 minutes of the sign, Gemini, dealing with data and facts. When Mercury turns backward in its heavenly movement it tends to pull our Minds along with it. Periods of time when Mercury is retrograde are characterized by a natural need for REFLECTION on the part of humans all over the Earth. Since today in America is called Memorial Day, a day officially set aside for Memories, how curious is it that Mercury-Mind should turn in its motion backward upon itself stimulating such memories! How can we not Reflect on that for just a few metaphorical memory moments. Within hours of Mercury turning retrograde in the Gemini sign of data and facts, Uranus also turns retrograde in Pisces, the sign of universal feeling attunement and spiritual imagination. Uranus, symbol of sudden Insight related to unusual firing-paths of the brain's synapses, will be at 22 degrees and 16 minutes of Pisces. That tells us that the zodiacal distance between these two planets in our solar system is almost exactly 90 degrees (short by less than a single degree) which is called a Square aspect in astrology and signifies a CHALLENGE to TAKE ACTION on the mental/verbal Mercury-Mind level through some form of verbal/mental communication. Hence, my friends and relatives, I am sending you these words. Nature, the living goddess, and Mother Earth herself would like these words to be spiritually imaginative and attuned to universal feelings of oneness we all share in together with Her. So I'll do my best not to be too obstreperous. Or pretentious, either, -'obstreperous' just means loud, aggressive, and noisy! (How many of you just said "Shut up, then, why don't you?") Obstreperous also means STUBBORN. PERSISTENT. Something is stubbornly and persistently trying to get my conscious attention. And yours. We will (each and all) get this "something" in our own unique ways for sure because "Nature abhors a vacuum" ? I'm not sure I believe that, though, because it sounds like something a 'scientific philosopher' must have said. Nature is not likely to "abhor" anything she creates, in my estimation, least of all a "vacuum" because emptiness and nothingness are the ESSENCE of the PLEROMA, the Void or Cornucopia at the heart of Nature. We can say the same of "god". Nothingness is the very Horn of Plenty! From nothing everything arises and awakens. Cornucopia, again. The horn of plenty, when it sounds, may sound loudly, obstreperously. Especially now, since the Mind is turning backward upon itself in stressful challenging square relationship to the very firing of the neurons and dendrites along the brain's synapses ruled by Uranus. Stick with this a moment, it's not incomprehensible or abstruse, it's URANIAN -of the nature of Uranus. It's what we're talking about when we say "unusual firing-paths of the brain's synapses." Sudden, shocking, electrically galvanizing. In popular parlance it means learning very new ways to connect the same old dots! Something wants to wake us up, put an end to our collective Amnesia. Yes, it's true, this situation between retrograde Mercury and equally retrograde Uranus involves water, air and electricity so don't be surprised to see sudden tornados, flash floods, electrical breakdowns, computer problems. Be aware that your own personal electrical system is under considerable tension: short tempers, impatience, sudden cramps in the muscles, depleted electrolytes. Charged ions are likely to go racing (rather hyped-up) throughout your blood, body tissues and fluids, and yet you are the one who can consciously monitor all these goings on throughout your own organic system. The RETROGRADE nature of this process clearly insists that upon REFLECTION each of us can calm ourselves down and use this time for personal electro-magnetic fine tuning. How? You KNOW the answer to that question. Who are we? We must Remember. It's Memorial Day. But who remembers which soldiers, which war, and where and when? As the song goes:

what is it good for? Absolutely NOTHING!" Then why Remember it? Every wounded animal licks its wounds as a way of healing. Human children do, too, and adults could but often prefer (instead) to do their licking "psychologically". We erect cellular placards in our bodies marking the moments of our personal 'traumas'. There are tombstones and graveyards in our Minds. We go over past hurts. We brood. It's the natural way of sitting on our thoughts and hatching them. Like birds do with their eggs. If we do so now, while Mercury and Uranus challenge each other from air and water through RETROGRADE motion we can literally re-wire our brains! Brooding is not useless worrying. It's a feeling way of reflecting. But, hey, in the United States Of Amnesia any such brooding is psychologically frowned upon and popularly synonymous with 'depression'. We are taught not to remember, not to go backward (retrograde) in time, thought, or feeling lest we descend into helplessly suicidal depression. Strange advice from the psychological wardens of a sick Corporate culture leading us like lemmings into a sea of forgetfulness and oblivion. They want us to be "happy" (terrorized) and shop, to take our mood enhancers, sleeping pills and nutra-sweet. They are leading us to perpetual war for perpetual peace, to spiritual suicide. Welcome on this fine Memorial Day to Homeland Security and its Patriot Act. Brood on those terms. Recognize their reality. A Nation at WAR is a killing Nation, and guess what? Today, as Mercury turns retrograde in Gemini it does so on the exact same degree of Gemini occupied by MARS, the Roman God Of War, actively marching in America's Founding Chart! How's that for interesting coincidences? Does this not 'suggest' in rather 'demanding' terms that we REFLECT on the long history (memory) of our shared war-like impulses as a National People? Duh, I think so. But the question Retrograde Mercury is posing to America's Mars in Gemini is something like this: how do YOU as a Personal American want to assert yourself, what unusual insights (Uranus) are you having these days, can you as an "individual" actually be free from your Nation's collective thoughts and actions? Would you even want to be? What value is there in purely personal Liberation? We Americans are all individually and collectively (Uranus in Pisces) implicated in our Nation's WARS (MARS) executed in our name. Today, Retrograde Mercury conjunct USA Natal Mars is asking us to Remember this fact and to take ACTION about it. It does not tell us what kind of action we must take, it simply tells us to reflect upon which unique, personal actions we need to take. MARS is action, energy, movement. It's the RED planet ruling the flow of our blood, our muscles and sinews, and our collective American 4th house LAND BASE defined through the zodiacal sign of Aries also ruled by MARS. Our Nation's WAR is being fought not ONLY in Iraq-Afghanistan (etc.) but ON OUR OWN LAND BASE. "Homeland Security" is exactly NOT what it says it is. It's actually a bureaucratic, big government program inflicting a War Of Terror and Insecurity on the PEOPLE and Land of America. And Remember, America is the Native Home of the RED MAN, the INDIAN. Appropos of which I return to the subject of my childhood memories regarding Reservations. Not the ones at hotels or restaurants but the ones on which we and our government placed the remaining RED folks once the ruin of the Land and the genocide of the People was well underway. Yes, MEMORY, the theme of retrograde Mercury. Memorial Day. Many hours have passed since I began this 'letter' this morning around 8:00 AM down in Louisiana, and the temperature here has climbed into the high 90's while the humidity hangs at 80% where I sit outside with no "air-conditioning" and plunk away on the keyboard of my computer. So, I have not the energy to plunge deeply into that serious genocidal subject. But I feel I need to tell you what I see: America is fast turning into a collection of polluted metropolitan 'camps' called cities which trap their workers into toxic environments and even more toxic working conditions. America is bankrupt, and Corporations rule the Nation merely for exploitation of the People and for ever more profits from the resources of the Land. Sixty some percent of our cities provide faucets full of poisonously fluoridated water, our major waterways and rivers are thoroughly contaminated with petro-chemicals as well as the recycled wastes from Corporate Pharmaceutical Industries and the Corporate Fertilizer run-offs of Agribusiness. Our skies are sprayed almost daily with chemtrails containing such crap as chelated aluminum and barium -even mycoplasma, and god only knows what else! Monsanto and others have pesticided and genetically modified our grains, vegetables, and fruits. They are, in turn, genetically 'modifying' and pesticiding us. So, I have some -shall we say- 'reservations' about all these goings on. That's because I'm 65 years old and have access to my very own retrograde memories as to what American life was like half a century ago. No, I don't have 'Alzheimer's' nor am I gripped by 'senior moments' nor do I buy America's sexism-racism-ageism. I hear all that and the jingoism of the "War On Terror" and my skin crawls. But most of us seem to have no idea what's going on. This morning the next door neighbor came out to spray her yard with Roundup which the humid air conveyed directly to me and my cup of coffee. No doubt she was spraying to kill the mosquitoes and smidgeons and little 'no-see-ums' to be found everywhere here. It does not occur to her that the poisons she's using are poisoning her. But they will poison her anyway, just the same. And that, I see, is precisely the 'plan' so extensively and thoroughly researched and written about as "The Deliberate Dumbing Down Of America". Have all of you seen this free google video: http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=-1131942400352901009 I am taking this time to point out that astrology confirms what many of us know intuitively about our current social-political situation: if we wish to avoid as much as we can of the immanent shake up accompanying the collapse of our Homeland Security Empire we must tune in to this time of REFLECTION and MEMORY beginning now on Memorial Day as both Mercury and Uranus turn RETROGRADE. The time between today May 26 until June 18 is the time during which Mercury will remain Retrograde but it will not return to the degree of US Natal MARS in Gemini upon which it just turned Retrograde until July 4, 2008. This time between America's 'Memorial Day' and its Founding Date is being especially highlighted as a time of seriously needed REFLECTION for all Americans. And there is more to all this then we have as yet discussed.  On June 2 and again on July 21 transiting Uranus in the Pisces skies exactly opposes by 180 degrees the Natal position of America's NEPTUNE (ruler of Pisces) found in Virgo in our Nation's 9th house area of Federal Courts, Universities, and Official Propaganda. Uranus moves quite slowly through the zodiac so that during this entire period it never really separates from its Square aspect to US MARS while exactly Opposing US NEPTUNE. Hence we are undergoing a highly energized time characterized by a powerful T-SQUARE CONFIGURATION activating America's inherent Mars to Neptune Square at birth! If you ask, what does this mean, I would reply that it means watch out for highly devious activities on the part of your NATIONAL FASCIST CORPORATE GOVERNMENT. Be very attentive to phrases and sentences tucked into Congressional legislation, to Presidential "signing statements" and to the government's hidden games centered around TRIALS AT GUANTANAMO TORTURE CAMP. Torture fits the picture of US Natal Mars square Natal Neptune to a 'T' ... or, as we have seen coming right up now a virtual astrological T-SQUARE. Torture, and every other form of hidden, secretive, illicit violence. Let me explain. While MARS symbolizes straightforward assertion in action and directly aggressive application of FORCE all its straightforwardness is compromised when it is in SQUARE aspect with NEPTUNE, symbol of all that is invisible and unseen. And this invisible/unseen NEPTUNE energy is expressing itself in the zodiacal sign symbolic of TECHNIQUE known as Virgo. America's Corporate Government is very busy employing, developing, and refining invisible techniques of TORTURE and violence which it hides from the world at large and which its citizens DENY. AMERICA LIES. It's habitual with our Federal Government beginning with the "sacred treaties" it has PERPETUALLY BROKEN with every American Indian Tribe and continuing with its hidden, illegal "experiments" upon its own citizens. This secret violence and corrupt lying combined are exactly what is destroying America from within virtually guaranteeing its immanent collapse. But before it goes, America appears "destined" to become a toxic police state permeated by secret "mercenaries" spying on its citizens and undermining their health, wealth, and happiness. Why do I say that? Consider the realm of NEPTUNE IN VIRGO. Virgo is the Virgin Goddess of the GRAINS and America is the 'homeland' of Monsanto a Corporation involved in lying and aggressive propaganda while destroying the genetic integrity of grains all around the world. They call their products GMO GRAINS meaning genetically modified grains. They engineer the infamous TERMINATOR SEEDS which 'secretly' contaminate all natural healthy grains by spilling their infertile spores onto the winds cross-pollinating with non-GMO grains. The practice is a despicable example of what Mars in Gemini can do when in war-like relationship with Neptune in Virgo: secretly attack and poison the natural grains of Mother Earth. But Corporate America doesn't stop there, it goes on developing lethal bacteria, mycoplasmas, viruses, nerve gases all in the name of fighting "terrorists". And these terrorists are just us, the citizens of America. Drugged as we are by Corporate Pharmaceuticals and FDA approved poisons in our food our natural immune systems are increasingly stressed. The MILK American's have always been urged to drink by Corporate Advertisers is contaminated with Monsanto's artificially engineered Bovine Growth Hormones throwing our own natural hormones into confused frenzy. Making us increasingly fat and bloated as we eat the flesh of the cows in which these genetically modified hormones inhere. All of us are being groomed as "Roundup Ready Citizens" ripe for harvesting into the secret FEMA/HALLIBURTON cum HOMELAND SECURITY Work Detention Camps while our economy is destroyed and our personal survival needs for healthy food and clean water are increasingly being denied us. We are neither a healthy nor a free People, we are entrained and entranced CONSUMERS. This is what America is choosing to do with its Natal Mars to Neptune square from Gemini to Virgo. REMEMBER, nothing I am saying here has to do with "negative thoughts" or "conspiracy theories". Unfortunately, it's all just straightforward reporting of Gemini facts and data. Yet most Americans still indulge themselves in DENYING and IGNORING these facts hastening the demise of themselves and their country. On this Memorial Day we are being urged by RETROGRADE MERCURY challenging RETROGRADE URANUS both activating America's Natal MARS in Gemini to REFLECT upon these facts, to study this kind of important data. URANUS wants us to "connect the dots" in unconventional, independent, and insightful ways so that we can understand the nature of the beast we have created through our perpetual inclination to denial. This America was founded in extreme violence by Corporate Businessmen indulging themselves in human slave holding and a smugly "manifest destiny" replete with genocidal practices. It herded the Red Indians onto Reservations while feeding them with whiskey and sugar, and wrapping them in smallpox blankets. It's ready now to do the same with all the rest of US.
