How crises, failures, and suffering finally drove a Presidential adviser to the wrong side of the barricades

It was like a scene out of Le Carré: the brilliant agent comes in from the cold and, in hours of debriefing, empties his memory of horrors committed in the name of an ideology gone rotten.
But this was a far bigger catch than some used-up Cold War spy. The former apparatchik was Joseph Stiglitz, ex-chief economist of the World Bank. The new world economic order was his theory come to life.
He was in Washington for the big confab of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund. But instead of chairing meetings of ministers and central bankers, he was outside the police cordons. The World Bank fired Stiglitz two years ago. He was not allowed a quiet retirement: he was excommunicated purely for expressing mild dissent from globalisation World Bank-style.
Here in Washington we conducted exclusive interviews with Stiglitz, for The Observer and Newsnight, about the inside workings of the IMF, the World Bank, and the bank's 51% owner, the US Treasury.
And here, from sources unnamable (not Stiglitz), we obtained a cache of documents marked, 'confidential' and 'restricted'.
Stiglitz helped translate one, a 'country assistance strategy'. There's an assistance strategy for every poorer nation, designed, says the World Bank, after careful in-country investigation.
But according to insider Stiglitz, the Bank's 'investigation' involves little more than close inspection of five-star hotels. It concludes with a meeting with a begging finance minister, who is handed a 'restructuring agreement' pre-drafted for 'voluntary' signature.
Each nation's economy is analysed, says Stiglitz, then the Bank hands every minister the same four-step programme.
Step One is privatisation. Stiglitz said that rather than objecting to the sell-offs of state industries, some politicians - using the World Bank's demands to silence local critics - happily flogged their electricity and water companies. 'You could see their eyes widen' at the possibility of commissions for shaving a few billion off the sale price.
And the US government knew it, charges Stiglitz, at least in the case of the biggest privatisation of all, the 1995 Russian sell-off. 'The US Treasury view was: "This was great, as we wanted Yeltsin re-elected. We DON'T CARE if it's a corrupt election." '
Stiglitz cannot simply be dismissed as a conspiracy nutter. The man was inside the game - a member of Bill Clinton's cabinet, chairman of the President's council of economic advisers.
Most sick-making for Stiglitz is that the US-backed oligarchs stripped Russia's industrial assets, with the effect that national output was cut nearly in half.
After privatisation, Step Two is capital market liberalisation. In theory this allows investment capital to flow in and out. Unfortunately, as in Indonesia and Brazil, the money often simply flows out.
Stiglitz calls this the 'hot money' cycle. Cash comes in for speculation in real estate and currency, then flees at the first whiff of trouble. A nation's reserves can drain in days.
And when that happens, to seduce speculators into returning a nation's own capital funds, the IMF demands these nations raise interest rates to 30%, 50% and 80%.
'The result was predictable,' said Stiglitz. Higher interest rates demolish property values, savage industrial production and drain national treasuries.
At this point, according to Stiglitz, the IMF drags the gasping nation to Step Three: market-based pricing - a fancy term for raising prices on food, water and cooking gas. This leads, predictably, to Step-Three-and-a-Half: what Stiglitz calls 'the IMF riot'.
The IMF riot is painfully predictable. When a nation is, 'down and out, [the IMF] squeezes the last drop of blood out of them. They turn up the heat until, finally, the whole cauldron blows up,' - as when the IMF eliminated food and fuel subsidies for the poor in Indonesia in 1998. Indonesia exploded into riots.
There are other examples - the Bolivian riots over water prices last year and, this February, the riots in Ecuador over the rise in cooking gas prices imposed by the World Bank. You'd almost believe the riot was expected.
And it is. What Stiglitz did not know is that Newsnight obtained several documents from inside the World Bank. In one, last year's Interim Country Assistance Strategy for Ecuador, the Bank several times suggests - with cold accuracy - that the plans could be expected to spark 'social unrest'.
That's not surprising. The secret report notes that the plan to make the US dollar Ecuador's currency has pushed 51% of the population below the poverty line.
The IMF riots (and by riots I mean peaceful demonstrations dispersed by bullets, tanks and tear gas) cause new flights of capital and government bankruptcies This economic arson has its bright side - for foreigners, who can then pick off remaining assets at fire sale prices.
A pattern emerges. There are lots of losers but the clear winners seem to be the western banks and US Treasury.
Now we arrive at Step Four: free trade. This is free trade by the rules of the World Trade Organisation and the World Bank, which Stiglitz likens to the Opium Wars. 'That too was about "opening markets",' he said. As in the nineteenth century, Europeans and Americans today are kicking down barriers to sales in Asia, Latin American and Africa while barricading our own markets against the Third World 's agriculture.
In the Opium Wars, the West used military blockades. Today, the World Bank can order a financial blockade, which is just as effective and sometimes just as deadly.
Stiglitz has two concerns about the IMF/World Bank plans. First, he says, because the plans are devised in secrecy and driven by an absolutist ideology, never open for discourse or dissent, they 'undermine democracy'. Second, they don't work. Under the guiding hand of IMF structural 'assistance' Africa's income dropped by 23%.
Did any nation avoid this fate? Yes, said Stiglitz, Botswana. Their trick? 'They told the IMF to go packing.' Stiglitz proposes radical land reform: an attack on the 50% crop rents charged by the propertied oligarchies worldwide.
Why didn't the World Bank and IMF follow his advice?
'If you challenge [land ownership], that would be a change in the power of the elites. That's not high on their agenda.'
Ultimately, what drove him to put his job on the line was the failure of the banks and US Treasury to change course when confronted with the crises, failures, and suffering perpetrated by their four-step monetarist mambo.
'It's a little like the Middle Ages,' says the economist, 'When the patient died they would say well, we stopped the bloodletting too soon, he still had a little blood in him.'
Maybe it's time to remove the bloodsuckers.

The film actor and director Sean Penn said yesterday he believed America needed a revolution and spoke of his admiration for the direct action campaigns launched by anti-globalisation activists. In a scathing attack on the political culture of his own country, Penn praised the protesters' commitment to change while dismissing the "saccharine" lifestyle of Hollywood and dismissing many of his contemporaries as talent less.
"I don't know if people value the thought of revolution any more. I think it would be an enormously patriotic movement to invest in the possibility of revolution," he said at the Edinburgh Film Festival. Around the world, from Seattle to Genoa, young people were putting themselves on the line for what they believed in, he added.
"We're going to start seeing film makers coming out of that group. They are people who care about something bigger than themselves. At that point, it doesn't become about America, or this place or that, but about some kind of unified interest in humanity and that's when the best films are made, when there's something unifying people." He said he despaired of American moviegoers, the "mono-culture" of its films and the studios' blinkered focus on profits at the box office. "If you put three thoughts in a movie you've broken the law and no one will come," he added.
Penn said he had decided to concentrate on directing after becoming dismayed at the standard of many of the directors with whom he had worked.
"After about 10 years of working as an actor, I realized that most directors are so bad that I thought, 'Why not give it a go?' Truly, half the people in this room could work on that level. It takes enormous pressure off to know that if you put two thoughts into your movie, you're already well up on them. I actually wish I had started sooner."
Sitting alongside his wife, the actress Robin Wright Penn, who stars with Jack Nicholson in The Pledge, Penn's third film as director, he said audiences in America were deterred by intelligent films. More interesting work seemed to be coming out of Europe.
"American audiences are very insistent on being comfortable. The film makers I've come to know in European cinema tend to be more thoughtful. [In America] there's a consistent beating against anything that doesn't serve the bank."
Although he was not a political movie maker, he said he wanted his two children to grow up in a more enlightened culture, and was on the side of the anti-corporate protesters. "What I hope our own children will do is have a broader interest and not to think everything in entertainment or politics represent comfort."
His comments came days after the American writer Gore Vidal criticized the stupidity of his own people.
But the British actor Brian Cox, a member of the jury for the film festival's most prestigious prize, in memory of the producer and director Michael Powell, raised equally damning concerns about the state of the British film industry and television.
"So many films are copies of American films or they're trying to make them for a middle market that doesn't really exist. They're trying to second-guess the audiences," he said.
"They keep saying, 'It doesn't make any money,' but that criteria of making money comes from America," he said. "We're not making films that are getting into the consciousness of the people and plug into the culture of these islands."
A similar problem was affecting British television, he said, yet the Americans had perfected the art of intelligent television drama, as seen in series such as The Sopranos and The West Wing.
A Death in the Congressman's Office
Does Anybody in the Press Care About Lori Klausutis?

Once upon a time, the phrase "investigative reporter" actually meant something. It usually involved hard work, possibly even mentation. Now, it seems, they just make stuff up. Especially on the Fox News Channel, where an uninitiated viewer could easily think she/he had tuned in Comedy Central . It's "Chandra-Chandra-Chandra" with the occasional "Condit is just like Clinton" thrown in. Given our media's 24/7 obsession with the Gary Condit "scandal", you might assume that there is a real dearth of hard news to pursue.
In reality, there is indeed a news story percolating out there. The story bears remarkable and ironic similarities to the Condit/Levy story. Both involve Congressmen, rumors of infidelity, and the fate of a younger female subordinate. The details are so similar as to remind one of two alternate universes. The difference between the two stories? First, in the Klausutis case as not in the Levy case, there is a real body, very dead. Second, the Klausutis case involves a Republican.
The story had a brief flutter in the Northwest Florida press, which ran a few very short stories on Lori's death. With the exception of the Northwest Florida Daily News, they were of the "Aw-what-a-shame/ nothing-to-see-here-move-along-now-folks" variety. But nationally, this mysterious death earned a mere one paragraph mention in The Washington Post's NATION IN BRIEF column:
"FORT WALTON BEACH, FL. - Lori Klausutis, a 28-year-old office worker for Rep. Joe Scarborough (R-Fl), was found dead in the congressman's district office. Police said preliminary findings from the medical examiner's office showed no foul play or any outward indication of suicide."
Unbelievably, that was it. The story was simply dropped. A young female employee of one of Florida's Congressmen had died unexpectedly in the Congressman's office. There were no witnesses to her death and the cause of death was not apparent. Klausutis' boss, Joe Scarborough had recently resigned from Congress prematurely and unexpectedly, amid rumors about his marital fidelity and soon after a divorce. He had also abruptly resigned as publisher of the Independent Florida Sun, claiming that resigning from Congress and as publisher was necessary to spend more time with his sons.
Such circumstances make one pause. Sick to death of the clear bias of the corporate owned media, and suspicious of the odd nature of this death, we began to dig for answers. The more information we discovered, the more unlikely, and the more newsworthy the story became.
Here are the facts. Lori Klausutis had a seemingly happy life. A devoted husband who listed on his online homepage "being married to Lori" as one of the honors he enjoyed, a new home in Niceville and a Catholic congregation where she was a cantor and in whose choir she sang, were some of the elements of the Good Life she enjoyed. Her husband, Dr. Timothy Klausutis, did research and development for the munitions group at nearby Eglin Air Force Base, where he presumably made a good livelihood. Although Lori hailed from the Atlanta, Georgia area where she had attended school, there were numerous family members in the area. According to her obituary in the Fort Walton Daily News, Lori had served as President and, later, Treasurer, for the Emerald Coast Young Republicans and as a aide to Congressman Scarborough, she was active during the Florida recounts. A former neighbor, Barbara Cromer, said "Every morning, I would see her run while I walked. We'd wave to each other as we passed. I loved Lori so much. She was wonderful. She was a kind, generous person, so sweet.
Then, on Friday, July 20th, the body of Lori Klausutis, 28, was found slump= ed next to a desk on the floor of Florida Republican Congressman Joe Scarborough's Fort Walton Beach office where Lori had served as a constituent services coordinator since May, 1999. Her body was found around 8:00 a.m. on Friday morning by a couple arriving for an appointment. She ha= d been dead for some time. A second employee, who would have normally arrived for work at around the same time, was away on vacation. Police cordoned off the area for investigation, later announcing that there was no reason to suspect foul play, nor were there signs of suicide.
Scarborough's office released a statement several hours after the discovery:
"My staff and family are greatly saddened by the loss of Lori Klausutis. I know Lori will be missed by the thousands of citizens who regularly contact my office to seek assistance with a variety of problems. May God grant Lori's family the grace, comfort and hope that will get them through this difficult time."
The Congressman returned to Florida that same day, and his office was quick to point out that it was not unusual for him to fly home for the weekend.
There was a great deal of ambiguity over whether Lori had suffered past medical problems. Scarborough's press secretary, Miguel Serrano, made mention of health problems in Lori's past, but could not be more specific. In response, Fort Walton Beach Police Chief Steve Hogue is quoted as saying "That's part of our investigation, checking into her medical history." Associate Medical Examiner Dr. Michael Berkland said "She had a past medical history that was significant, but it remains to be seen whether that played a role = in her death". Soon after a member of the immediate family rejected out of hand that Lori had any significant medical problems. She was, in fact, quite an athlete, having recently run an 8K with a very respectable time and she belonged to the Northwest Florida Track Club.
The results of the mandated autopsy, however, were deemed "inconclusive" by Dr. Berkland, who ordered more specific toxicology tests. These results were expected by the middle of the following week, around the first or second day of August. Dr. Berkland commented at the time "This turns over several puzzle pieces in the case of her death and reveals more of the picture".

Michael Berkland, it turns out, has a very interesting background himself.
Recently relocated to Florida, it is a matter of public record that Dr. Berkland's medical license in the state of Missouri was revoked in 1998 as a result of Berkland reporting false information regarding brain tissue samples in a 1996 autopsy report. Berkland does not deny the charges.
It's also a matter of public record that he was suspended from his position as Medical Examiner in the State of Florida in July, 1999.
Quincy, he's not.
Repeated requests to Dr. Stephen Nelson, Chairman of the Medical Examiners Commission, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, have failed to verify that Dr. Berkland's suspension was lifted and that his licensure and disciplinary record are clear at the present time. Dr. Nelson was appointed Chairman of the Commission by Governor Jeb Bush.
As for Lori Klausutis, rumors began to swirl as time passed with no resolution to the case, rumors that included whispers of suicide, some emanating from inside the Beltway. Family members, angered at what they considered unfair and exploitive coverage wrote the editor of the Northwest Florida Daily News, Ralph Routon, saying "For those who knew Lori, the thought of suicide, as your published reports suggested, is absolutely unthinkable. Suicide was contrary to her faith and being. She did not suffer from seizures, nor did she have a history of medical problems." Meanwhile, the final report has been issued that Lori died as a result of a blow to the head because an undiagnosed heart condition caused her to collapse and fall, hitting her her head on the desk.
The initial reports from the Medical Examiner's office denied any trauma to the body that would indicate cause of death. But Berkland acknowledged on Monday, August 6th, that Lori had sustained a "scratch and a bruise" on her head and that his original denials were to prevent undue speculation about the cause of death. "The last thing we wanted was 40 questions about a head injury", he said.
And so, what we have here is the death of a healthy young woman who died of a blow to the head and a lie from the Medical Director's office about this blow which was quite obvious to the naked eye. They then had to go search for some reason why she might have "fallen" and hit her head. And they have found an "undiagnosed cardiac arrhythmia". But a number of questions remain to be answered, and we have requested opinions from Dr. Nelson, the Chairman of the Medical Examiners Commission.
The questions are:
- Were Lori's medical records thoroughly examined for any evidence of the pre-existing heart condition? It would seem that someone must have examined her heart if she ran 8Ks.
- Did Dr. Berkland personally examine the site of death in undisturbed condition in order to support his later conclusion that the physical evidence was compatible with his later conclusions?
Presumably the heart valve condition alluded to is Mitral Valve Prolapse. This may be associated with arrhythmias, but rarely with VTach (ventricular tachycardia) or VFib (ventricular fibrillation), the only arrhythmias which would stop the flow of blood to the brain.
Generally, with syncope of whatever cause the "guarding reflex", wherein one raises a hand to protect the head, is preserved.
There are several problems with the head injury. Generally, for a closed head injury to cause bleeding inside the skull, there is a much more severe injury on the outside of the skull. Do the autopsy notes, indeed, describe such a severe injury on the outside of the skull? In fact, the only closed head injury which usually may cause bleeding inside the skull involves a fracture of the temporal bone, with rupture of the underlying artery. The most important discrepancy that should be answered is how intra-cranial bleeding could continue if the cardiac arrhythmia had caused a cessation of blood flow to the brain!
- Were the toxicology studies entirely negative? Was there evidence of any legal or illegal substance in the blood stream which could have caused her to lose consciousness?
- Was she pregnant? If so, were fetal blood specimens obtained to determine paternity?
These are the questions being asked by some in the medical community of Dr. Stephen Nelson and Dr. Michael Berkland, and they continue to go unanswered.
Why is there a complete media blackout on this story? Why the complete preoccupation with the similar but largely speculative Condit/Levy story? What does this say about the state of our press? What does corporate ownership of the press do to what gets to be news? How much of what we think we know as fact is actually based on selective and distorted reporting? How does that "fair and balanced" cable network explain the complete hypocrisy and contempt for truth in their handling of these two similar tales? Will we ever know the truth of how Lori Klausutis died?
A recent check of the Young Republican's web site found no mention of Lori or her contributions, nor any tribute to her memory nor comments about her passing. In fact, you will find no mention of her at all. If you go to The Pensacola News Journal's online pages, one of the few papers that actually covered the story, and search the site for "Klausutis" you will come up empty, even though the same search will pull up numerous stories matching "Scarborough". It seems as though someone wants to erase all traces of Lori Klausutis from the record and bury the story with her.
It's an increasingly puzzling case. We are reminded of the famous Kitty Genovese case, in New York, in 1964, where a young woman pleaded for her life over the period of 30 minutes, while neighbors ignored her cries. The assailant returned three times to stab her. With Lori Klausutis, it seems possible that a corrupt North Florida establishment is determined to keep the lid on the case, even if that means silencing the news. And our esteemed news media, from the supposed mainstream liberal press stalwarts to the near delusional on air shouters of the channel that just reports so that you can decide, willingly turn the other way and ignore Lori Klausutis. But they continue to chatter endlessly in speculation over Chandra Levy. In so doing, they ignore the cries of truth, they deny their viewers access to the truth and they utterly, once and for all, betray our faith and trust in the media. This report was made possible by devoted citizens who are determined to bring Lori's story to the light of day. Their contributions in research and insight are more appreciated than we can say. Condit Named to Intelligence Committee
Washington, DC- Rep. Gary A. Condit (CA) announced today that he has been appointed to a position on the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence in the U.S. House of Representatives.
"This is an opportunity for me to serve our country in a capacity that doesn’t get headlines or grab attention but is nonetheless one of the most important committees in the Congress," Condit said. (from Condit’s congressional website)
I do love a good story. I’ve been telling stories to my children since my oldest (who is now 25) was a toddler. My girls, ages 9 and 11, love it when story time comes around. I have always enjoyed a good story teller as well. A mentor of mine and wonderful teller of tales was a radio and newspaper journalist, who became editor of the Colorado Springs Gazette-Telegraph and went on to become president of a small, private college and a syndicated columnist for the Freedom Newspapers under the great libertarian, R.C. Hoiles.
Bob (Robert LeFevre was his name) would regale me with stories of journalists missing the mark, failing to catch the importance of a story, gladhanding government agents in the hopes of currying favor, and getting a tiny tidbit of slanted news before the next journalist in line grabbed a morsel. I always found it amazing how journalists let vested interests become their vested interest, how journalists spin and twist just the way government agencies want.
An interesting consideration comes up with the Condit-Levy affair which seems to escape the media and various commentators. I find this very odd, and it reminds me of stories Bob would tell me about his fellow journalists. According to all reports, Representative Gary Condit, Blue Dog (conservative) Democrat, has been accused of having an affair with an intern, Chandra Levy, who disappeared under mysterious circumstances.
I give you the following outline for contemplation. Perhaps it leans too far toward conspiratorial theory, but it does seem to provide an explanation of the events. Consider:
(1) Condit is a member of the House Intelligence Committee with access to a wide range of black box agencies like the CIA, NSA, etc. and their secrets. The disagreements, debates, interest group battles in this committee will, most likely, never become public. But we know they exist. Here are institutions with unknown and unidentified multi-billion dollar budgets overseen by a committee of seasoned (meaning bought and paid for) politicians. Vested interests are on every side, in every direction, with no opportunity for public overview. This powerful committee is at the very center of the secrets held by the federal government, holding the purse-strings of each clandestine agency.
"At issue here are the security interests of the United States in their most basic and concrete forms," Condit said. "There are very sensitive issues of immediate and long term national security, and I look forward to playing a constructive role in addressing these issues." (ibid.)
(2) Perhaps Condit was on the wrong side of an issue within the committee. How could his vote be gained or lost? How best could Condit’s decision-making power on the committee be controlled? Blackmail? Does Condit have some little secret, some Achilles heel?
Condit’s appointment from House Democratic Leader Richard Gephardt is for the duration of the 106th Congress. Condit is eligible to serve a maximum of three consecutive two-year terms on the committee. (ibid.)
(3) The disappearance of Chandra Levy leads one to speculate that it might have been professionally orchestrated. Who, or what agencies, have the greatest experience in murder and cover-ups? Hmmm? Could it be that some agency wanted to get information on a member of the Intelligence Committee for leverage on some favored program? Was it a botched pickup for purposes of interrogation and eventual blackmail? Would nervous agents, in a panic, have decided to "clean up" their mistake?

(4) Could this "disappearance" have been effected at the behest of Congressman Condit? This is doubtful. Condit would be the last person in DC to have made this decision, as it would be all too clear that every finger would be pointed at him. His connection with Levy was probably the scuttlebutt in offices throughout DC and, if not, was certainly filed in numerous unnamed and unnamable government agencies throughout Byzantine, DC.
It has the makings of a fine story, doesn’t it? Alas, my imagination takes this scenario only so far. Perhaps others will fill in the details – long after Condit’s career is thoroughly destroyed.
Qui Bono? Who benefits from the destruction of his career? We may never know. Which brings us to my final point.
(5) Have the mass media become such sheep that public questions about something other than Condit’s private sex life are ignored? The Washington Post, the New York Times, CBS, NBC, CNN, and other major media outlets and their inbred cliques of journalists love obsessing on the sex lives of the fallen, whether Democrats or Republicans. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, go Molly Ivins and E.J. Dionne, as the drool slides down their aging chins, onto the flat screens of their computers and into their columns.
We will never hear any substantive concerns from the likes of these. The managers of the news win with sex. Connie Chung’s interview with Condit on ABC’s Primetime topped the weekly ratings race with 23.7 million viewers.
This part of the story is the sad conclusion, for not all good stories have a happy ending. Certainly not for Condit. Certainly not for Levy. Certainly not for the consumers of news.

Attack on the USS Liberty June 8, 1967

i am not usually inclined to promote nor publicize news about the military but after reading an article about the USS Liberty provided me by an associate activist, i really have felt a most urgent need to reveal what i have only recently learned about these men aboard this intelligence ship and how it appears they were not only viciously broadsided by Israeli torpedos but also, even more evilly, how this alleged cold-blooded mass murder has been covered up by our own U.S. government, in order to preserve our political ties to powerful Israeli influences. i believe i have been even more persuaded to publish this information as a result of the present crisis unfolding daily in New York City, Washington, DC and Pennsylvania, the sites of hijacked plane crashes. i guess what bothers me most is that not only was this the most horrible, cold-blooded murder, if it is, indeed, true - but that those many servicemen who served on the USS Liberty and have been speaking the truth about this horrible incident have also been accused of being anti-semitic simply for trying to demand an investigation to reveal the truth about what really did happen on that fateful day in 1967.
i have included the URL below so you may investigate further for yourself what happened aboard the USS Liberty.
There is also an excellent book that was just written by James Bamford, "Body of Secrets" , that also speaks of this despicable act. The specific title of that chapter in the book is "BLOOD" - pgs. 185- 239.

John Kerry also gets much of his cashish from New York, DC and California even though he's supposedly representing Massachusetts.

LaRouche - Did Israeli Military Kill Gen. Ze'evi?

I have two important, closely related statements to make on the matter of the assassination, this past week, of retired Israel General Rehavam Ze'evi, a.k.a. the "General Gandhi" of Central American drug-trafficking and other notorieties.
First, I reference facts which expose the appalling credulity of those, who exclude the strong evidence suggesting that the list of suspects in seeking out the authorship of the assassination, could be the Israeli military itself.
Second, I emphasize that those silly people who insist, fanatically, "I don't believe in conspiracy theories," usually turn out to be the same fools who shriek, "Don't mention the word truth in my presence! There is no truth! There is only the set of facts which happen to fit with my opinion." Thus, people either select some facts, while denying others, or even invent their so-called "facts," to fit their degraded desires. This second problem is, from experience with governments and others over decades, the most common cause of what events have proven to have been the probably unintended failures of law-enforcement and intelligence investigations.
I present this twofold warning from the standpoint of being the only major U.S. Presidential candidate for the 2000 election, who documented the truth about the onrushing collapse of the world's present monetary-financial system. Often, we are confronted with something like the case, of the virtual insanity of those who placed their religious faith in the now collapsed "new economy" swindle. Obviously, those who said that I was wrong in warning against buying into that swindle, are much sadder, and definitely not richer, as a result of their own foolishness. If you supported any of my rivals in the 2000 election campaign, you are one of those foolish fellows who must remember the issue of the economy during that 1999-2000 period. While some of our airlines are still flying, although most of our railroads are now shut down, you still owe it to yourself to stop, look, listen--and think.
In my long experience with our own and other governments, the most frequent source of needless suffering of our own citizens and other nations, is, similarly, not consciously malicious intent; but, often, the result of what is simply a kind of stubborn incompetence in official circles. Often it is just one more example of the degree of increasing ignorance among recent generations of university graduates and others. Often, it is the kind of negligent morality which argues, "let us hope that this guy turns out to be guilty." Those kinds of problems have become--not steadily, but--unsteadily worse since President John F. Kennedy was assassinated.
The all-too-typical Presidential candidate, or even ordinary U.S. citizen today, reacts to even crucially important events with words to the effect, "Don't tell me to think! I don't wish to think; I have already made up my mind!" Those words deserve to be written on that poor fellow's tombstone, if he can still afford one.
Look at the case of the Ze'evi assassination. Listen, once again, to my worry that the present U.S. government is shooting itself on the foot on the matter of its response to the recent Sept. 11 attacks. Someone must tell the U.S. citizens what is actually happening to their future; that job of getting you to recognize the truth, falls to me, largely by the failures of others who have left this burden on my shoulders. Probably, in my present role as a candidate for the 2004 election, I am now your future. If you reject my leadership now, as you did during 1999-2000, you probably have no future. What it will be, is now up to you.
- `Who Killed Cock Robin?' -
Since the 1970s, the principal method of blackmail used by Israeli fanatics in controlling the behavior of the U.S. government, has been the threat of what was known since then under such "Get Smart"-style rubrics, as "the breakaway-ally syndrome," or the "chicken-game syndrome." Israel would threaten to go to the threshold of a nuclear Middle East war, threatening the U.S., that if Washington did not fight Israel's war, Israel would start a war which couldn't be stopped.
Typical is the way in which the terrorist attack on the Marine barracks in Lebanon brought President Reagan's Middle East peace initiative to an end.
Thus, the peculiar character of Israel's bloodiest roles in world affairs, has been its emphasis on privately financed special killing and related operations in the Americas, Africa, and elsewhere. In the case of the two relevant Palestinian combat associations, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and Hamas, the role of the Israeli and certain other governments in building these up as rivals to the Arafat-led Fatah organization, is typical of the kinds of operations in which Ariel Sharon and his long-standing accomplice Ze'evi were active.
If we take into account all of the most relevant factors of the situation in which Ze'evi was assassinated, qualified security specialists are compelled to ask whether or not Ze'evi was killed as a substitute for the Sharon who was already a candidate for assassination by the most desperate faction of the Israeli military command. Given the realities of Israeli security practices, and Ze'evi's own capabilities, a group such as PFLP would not have attempted such an assassination unless they were confident that the expected several layers of official and private security screens around Ze'evi were down.
Who benefitted from the assassination of Ze'evi? None other than that section of the Israeli military command which is determined to bully the Bush administration into allowing, or even conducting full-scale attacks on Syria and Iraq.
The Hamas, which is not suspected in this case, was fostered as an anti-Arafat force by Ze'evi ally Sharon, during the period Sharon was Israeli Housing Minister. The PFLP has a more complicated, French- flavored pedigree. These cases are merely typical of the fact, that, throughout the period since the aftermath of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, terrorist and other groups have been able to function only to the degree they had protection from either governments, or financial cabals with capabilities comparable to those of governments. Through Israeli penetration of and cooperation with international black operations of that type, relevant Israeli intelligence agencies, as in Ze'evi's role in Colombia drug-running circles, have effective penetration of most such irregular organizations--such as terrorist organizations--often including elements of top-down control.
Ask two questions. First, who has benefitted from the aftermath of the assassination of Ze'evi? Second, what is the meaning of the remarkably exact coincidence in timing, between the filing of dramatic new evidence which could overturn the the Lockerbie verdict in the PanAm 103 case, and the targeting of Syria-based PFLP as the putative author of the Ze'evi killing?
As a U.S. citizen, it is in your vital personal interest, to ask the question: Will the killing of Ze'evi, a killing with those predicates, tend to push the Bush administration into capitulating to the Israeli military command's efforts to bring about an immediate U.S.-based, large-scale military operation against both Syria and Iraq?
Since most of you were already suckered into believing in Al Gore's promises of a bright future for the "new economy," you are doubtless one of those people who seriously need to begin thinking, rather than being, once again, blindly suckered into believing such fairy-tales as the current mass-media line on the Ze'evi assassination.
- The Geometry of Intention -
The time has come to abandon the cult of popular opinion, and to try telling the truth, instead. You life, and our nation's future may depend upon it.
The poor fool whose wits were flushed down the drain in the post- World War II brainwashing of many Americans, as by wild-eyed existentialists and liars such as Theodor Adorno and Hannah Arendt, says, "I don't believe in conspiracy theories." Your best shot in rebuttal of such silly outbursts from sources such as that, is, "So, first gargle, and then tell me: Are you just a brainwashed idiot, or, are you trying to cover up something with that stinking hogwash you just spouted?"
The effects which may be recognized later as the fruits of a conspiracy, include such cases as the tragic failure of the conspirators' intentions, but also the control of mass behavior, by what they have failed to recognize as the unsuspected influence of more or less axiomatic, controlling assumptions, on their own behavior. I have illustrated the role of unsuspected axioms by reference to the example of axiomatically different kinds of physical space-time geometries.
Take as a relevant example, the suicidal assumption by some influential Israeli and other circles, that the Palestinians would be guilty of any war resulting from their refusal to allow the building of the so-called Third Temple of Solomon on the present site of one of the holiest places of Islam. In the present state of Middle East and related affairs, such a demand by the Israelis or others, means the unleashing of a general religious war of the type we had thought to eliminate from European civilization with the 1648 Treaty of Westphalia. Anyone who supports the demand for the forcible building of the so-called "Third Temple," is not only a wild-eyed war-monger, a virtual criminal, but is indulging in promoting the very worst kind of warfare, religious warfare.
It can not be said that the backers of the Israeli fanatics' demands are simply being stubbornly stupid on this question. An adult drunken driver who drives is guilty of the intention implied by his condition. Nor can we say, that the Israeli fanatics acting in that manner are in any sense innocent fools. European history, from the time of Venice's partnership with the Plantagenets in the religious and related wars of the period from the Second Crusade through the toppling of England's evil Richard III, and the pattern of religious wars which Venice orchestrated from 1511 through 1648 AD in modern Europe, are examples of the witting role of those, like Zbigniew Brzezinski, who have orchestrated prolonged religious war for geopolitical or related strategic purposes. The fate of civilization on this planet, now depends upon preventing the supporters of Ariel Sharon and the Israeli right-wing military, from triggering the kind of "Clash of Civilizations" toward which figures such as the British Arab Bureau's Bernard Lewis and Zbigniew Brzezinski have been working.
Brzezinski's role and influence typifies what should be understood as social processes which only a madman would refuse to recognize as a conspiracy. The insistence on adhering to assumptions which have inherent consequences, means that the perpetrator intends to bring such consequences into play. Either he knows what he is doing, in which case he is explicitly guilty, or he does not know, in which case he is to be judged insane.
For example, the reigning form of psychotic mass-hysteria on this planet today, is the form of impassioned dedication to the presently collapsing, existing world monetary and financial system of 1971- 2001, even to the point of insisting that that system be defended, "whatever that costs." The intention to defend that system, and such accreted features as "globalization" and "new economy" delusions, represents an axiomatic kind of intention built into the behavior of the believer.
In the case of the policies of the presently ruling Israeli military dictatorship, the commitment to a certain conception of Israel, including the matter of al Haram al Sharif, represents the intention to carry the world to a virtually unstoppable, prolonged, genocidal religious war. That is an evil conspiracy by implicit intent. Those who use their Israeli military puppets, to launch such a deadly, provocation, such as those who argue like Brzezinski and Kissinger, are also guilty of the consequences of their intentions.
All well-crafted constitutions, such as the 1776 U.S. Declaration of Independence, or the U.S. 1789 Constitution, are examples of conspiracies whose embedded intention shapes the future of states and relations among states. Prevailing beliefs respecting science and art, or morals, have similar efficiency. Only through understanding the role of intentions, and also the way, in truth, they may be foreseen to produce their effects, can there exist either sane forms of national government, sane relations among states, peace among religious bodies, or a calculable future of any sort for even the adulthood of the present generation of infants.
As I used to demonstrate to the students in my economic classes, it would be impossible to organize the presence of the cup of coffee set before you, without a well-functioning, world-wide conspiracy among the agencies which produce all of the elements of materials and processes which go into presenting that cup, with that content, in that place and time at which it is served to you.

Pictures at an Exhibition: The Destruction of the Churches of Kosovo

In 1998, speaking for his government, Robert Gelbard, the State Department's Special Envoy to the Balkans, said, "The UCK is, without any questions, a terrorist group." (Agence France Presse, 23 Feb. 1998)
UCK is Albanian for KLA, the so-called Kosovo Liberation Army. Since NATO marched into the Serbian province of Kosovo in June, 1999, completely opening the border to Albania, the gangster-terrorists of the KLA have dominated the governing structures of Kosovo with the official approval of NATO and of the United Nations organization in Kosovo. This is not hyperbole.
KLA terrorists have forced several hundred thousand people to leave Kosovo - Serbs, 'Gypsies,' Slavic Muslims, ethnic Turks, Croatians, Jews and ethnic Albanians loyal to Yugoslavia. The KLA has systematically attacked Serbian Orthodox churches, monasteries and graveyards. More than 75 Serbian Orthodox churches have been badly vandalized or reduced to rubble.
[Note: The destruction of churches continued after this report was written so that now, in October, 2001, we are told more than 100 churches have been destroyed. We will post the exact number as soon as possible.]
These buildings were not only treasures of Christianity, masterpieces of an ancient Church. They were not only a cultural inspiration for the Serbian people. More, they belonged to the world; and they belonged to the future.
Many of the churches had survived 500 years of Ottoman rule; they survived Austrian rule and they survived World War II, when Kosovo was ruled by Fascist Albanians under the Italian Fascists and then the German Nazis.
But they were destroyed under NATO occupation.
Before you tell yourself, "It's not NATO's fault. They can't be everywhere," consider this fact: the terrorist KLA has been desecrating churches during the entire 27 months of NATO occupation; many of the churches were attacked more than once; yet not one terrorist has been arrested, let alone put on trial, for these crimes.
Nor has any terrorist been arrested for driving more than 350,000 people out of Kosovo. This although NATO has intimate knowledge of who the terrorists are, where they reside, their command structures. Indeed, the terrorists are presently organized in the UN's Kosovo Protection Corps. They get regular paychecks. (Your tax dollars at work.) Unimpeachable eyewitnesses have told us that NATO officers preside over the crimes against Serbs and other 'incorrect' ethnic groups.
Why has NATO unleashed its KLA proxies to destroy these exquisite churches?
Because NATO is remaking Kosovo to suit the demographic requirements of the New World Order. Kosovo is to be part of a Greater Albania that never existed in history except during W.W. II, under Fascist Italian and Nazi German rule. These churches had to be destroyed to demoralize the Serbs, to demoralize them about fighting for Kosovo, and to eradicate the evidence that the Serbian people have deep roots in this land.
In a May, 1999, op ed piece for the 'N.Y. Times,' President Clinton wrote:
"The people of the former Yugoslavia have lived together for centuries with greater and lesser degrees of conflict, but not the constant 'cleansing' of peoples from their land." (NY Times, May 23, 1999) Clinton claimed he was criticizing the Serbian government, led by Slobodan Milosevic.
But was he? Perhaps Mr. Clinton was making a little joke, attributing to its victims the American Empire's plans to turn Kosovo into a stronghold of Albanian secessionist terrorism, a suitable base for the further devastation of the Balkans.

Senate okays $2.7 billion for Israel
The U.S. Senate yesterday approved its annual foreign aid package, with Israel getting $2.76 billion, of which $2 billion will go for defense purchases in the U.S. and the remaining $760 million will be in civilian aid.

The U.S. Senate yesterday approved its annual foreign aid package, with Israel getting $2.76 billion, of which $2 billion will go for defense purchases in the U.S. and the remaining $760 million will be in civilian aid.
Israel gets the most foreign aid of any country helped by the U.S., with Egypt second, this year getting $1.3 billion. Jordan is slated to get $225 million. The entire foreign aid package was $15.6 billion, and passed by a 96-2 vote.
In the coming weeks there will be more money for Israel voted in the defense department budget.
An outstanding Israeli request for $800 million, due to costs incurred by the Lebanon withdrawal, and which was never officially submitted, seems to have dropped off the agenda.
The Jewish Agency is expecting a $20 million decline in donations in 2001 due to the U.S. recession and because American Jews may choose to donate money to funds to help the families of victims of the September 11 terror attacks, say Agency officials, based on reports reaching them from U.S. Jewry. The Agency's budget for 2001 is about $300 million.
According to Agency treasurer Haim Chesler, most donations generally are made at the end of the year, so the greater impact will be on the 2002 budget, but he admitted that there may be an impact on this year's operational budget.
Steve Hoffman, executive director of the United Jewish Federations said that he's expecting a $10 million decline in contributions next year.
But despite the warnings from American Jewry, Chesler says that the Agency will continue to prepare for the coming year according to the original plans and to reassess the situation again at the start of the next year.

Scientific tests of 'wonder drug' give patients new hope

Cannabis is a 'wonder drug' capable of radically transforming the lives of very sick people, according to the results of the first clinical trials of the drug. Tests sanctioned by the Government are proving far more successful than doctors, patients and cannabis campaigners ever dared hope. Some of the patients are simply calling it a 'miracle'. Taking the drug - which it is still illegal for doctors to prescribe - has allowed a man previously so crippled with pain that he was impotent to become a father; a woman paralysed by multiple sclerosis to ride a horse for the first time in years; and a man who couldn't sit up in a chair on his own to live without a carer. Until now claims of the benefits of the drug for certain conditions have been anecdotal. But the preliminary results of the UK government trial, started last year, suggest that 80 per cent of those taking part have derived more benefit from cannabis than from any other drug, with many describing it as 'miraculous'. The results make it almost inevitable that the Government will bow to public pressure and legalise the cultivation of cannabis for medical purposes by 2002. Scientists now predict that cannabis - first used for medicinal reasons 5,000 years ago - will follow aspirin and penicillin and become a 'wonder drug' prescribed for a wide range of conditions. Bowing to pressure for a less hard-line attitude, the Home Office started the first major cannabis trials in the world to see whether there was any scientific basis for its use as medicine. A licence was granted to a specially formed drug company to grow the plants under controlled conditions in a secret location in southern England. Twenty-three patients, suffering from multiple sclerosis and arthritis, were recruited on to the first trial, and given daily doses of cannabis by spraying it under the tongue, before wider trials were started. The remarkable stories of the patients will be revealed tonight on the BBC programme Panorama , which was granted unique access to them. Alex Ure, a former paratrooper, suffers from a severe spinal condition. The pain was so bad he considered suicide; he found legal painkillers turned him into a zombie and he couldn't have sex with his wife, Wendy, for five years. But after starting the trial he became a father. 'I couldn't even bend down and play with a child before - I could do anything now,' he said. His doctor, Willy Notcutt, of James Paget Hospital in Great Yarmouth, was sure the cannabis was responsible: 'His pain has been sufficiently controlled to engage in sex again,' he said. Tyrone Castle, a former publican, started suffering from multiple sclerosis when he was 21 and became so incapacitated he needed two helpers to winch him out of bed. He also suffered from uncontrollable spasms. Cannabis has transformed his life. 'It has really helped sort out my spasms. It helps me sleep because I don't spend the night jumping about. The difference in my legs is unbelievable - they are no longer stiff as a board,' he said. Jo, the wife of a school chaplain, suffered so badly from multiple sclerosis she would struggle to lift her legs up in the air six times. After she started the trial, she could lift her legs 25 times. 'It's miraculous, really extraordinary. I've never had any sort of relief of this kind, and I've tried pretty well everything,' she said. Notcutt said the trial was a success: 'The results have exceeded what I dared hope for. We're getting 80 per cent of patients good-quality benefit from the cannabis. For some we are getting almost total relief from their pain, with pain scores going down to zero.' Doctors believe cannabis could eventually prove useful in conditions such as osteoporosis, cancer, HIV and Aids, arthritis, spine injury and certain forms of mental illness.

Prince to plead for flower girl assailant

The Prince of Wales is to personally intervene to try to spare from prosecution the Latvian schoolgirl who hit him in the face with a bunch of red carnations during his visit to Riga. Alina Lebedeva, 16, has been charged with endangering the life of a foreign dignitary and faces a maximum penalty of 15 years in jail.
But senior aides to the Prince, who returned to Britain last night from a five-day tour of the Baltic states, said he would not hesitate to speak out. “We do not want to cause a diplomatic incident but there is no way we want to see her prosecuted,” a St James’s Palace official said.
“We do not want this taken seriously at all. As the victim in this the Prince will be allowed to say what he thinks should happen. At the right time he will say the right thing to do is to take this no further.”
Protective barriers which are often put up during walkabouts by the Prince were conspicuous by their absence when the incident took place because the Metropolitian Police protection officers had advised against them. Scotland Yard will study video footage to see if they can improve their procedures.
Miss Lebedeva is currently in custody in Riga, the Latvian capital, where her mother, Lirisa, a musician, is pleading for her release.
Her father, Nikolay Lebedeva, also a musician, last night called on the Prince to make a personal appeal for her liberty. “Prince Charles can help her. I want him to say something for her. I don’t understand why she did it but 15 years is too harsh.”
He said his daughter must have been encouraged by others to carry out the attack: “I think it is somebody’s influence. My daughter cannot have thought of this alone.”
Miss Lebedeva struck the Prince with the flowers as he mingled with crowds in Riga on Thursday. The stalks snapped and petals fluttered to the surprised Prince’s feet.
Miss Lebedeva said afterwards: “I’m protesting against Latvia joining Nato and I’m against the war in Afghanistan. Britain is the enemy.”

The Prince, who was unhurt in the attack, yesterday visited Miss Lebedeva’s home city of Daugavpils in eastern Latvia, where he met some of her classmates and teachers.
A former teacher at her school, Tamara Vasilievna, tried to shout out an apology as the Prince passed. He praised her English but moved on before she had a chance to say sorry properly.
Ms Vasilievna said later that Miss Lebedeva had been in trouble before, for drinking and graffiti. Her mother once hired a private detective to keep an eye on her, she added.
At Miss Lebedeva’s school, teachers were shocked. “What she has done is unbelievable. She could well be expelled when she comes back,” said Inna Yermachkova, who taught Miss Lebedeva English. “We do not want other students to follow her example.”
She described Miss Lebedeva as a strange girl, who sometimes made odd outbursts: “She can be difficult in class. Sometimes she makes unexpected flashes of laughter or shouts, which are very loud.
“Teachers are uncomfortable and try to calm her down but sometimes it is not possible to stop her. But she is not bad, she is just strange.”
She said Miss Lebedeva was a clever student, who excelled in English and held strident political views.
“She is very political, which is unusual for such a young girl. She is very emotional and open and she speaks her mind. She is quite an extraordinary person.”
Ms Yermachkova said Miss Lebedeva may have psychological problems, after President Vike-Freiberga suggested that she is mentally ill.
“I cannot say whether she is mentally ill but she does perhaps have problems and she behaves strangely. Perhaps she should consult a doctor.”

Morris Fishbein, AMA Enemy of American Health

Dr. Morris Fishbein (1889-1976) originally studied to be a clown. Realizing he could make more money as a doctor, he entered medical school (where he failed anatomy), then barely graduated. He never treated a patient in his life.
Why is he so important? Because he became head of the AMA, a position that he used to enrich himself and crush legitimate therapies out of existence. He appeared to be motivated solely by money and power.
As head of the AMA (and editor of the Journal of the American Medical Association from 1924-1949), he decided which drugs could be sold to the public based only how much advertising money he could extort from drug manufacturers, whom he required to place expensive ads in the JAMA. There were no drug-testing agencies, only Fishbein. It was irrelevant if the drugs worked.
Fishbein was a shakedown artist. Yet, today, there is a Morris Fishbein Center for the History of Science and Medicine at the University of Chicago.
The AMA, a State-backed guild which today has a near-stranglehold on the medical profession, was founded in 1847 merely as a social and scientific organization. Its original purpose was totally appropriate. It was in their private (and the public’s) interest for practitioners to get together to trade knowledge, and, for all the outward seriousness of the organization, to have some fun. The original purpose always seems to get lost, though. Some members always want to use the State to reduce the supply of practitioners (which increases income) and eliminate competition (which also increases income, and, much more seriously, reduces innovation). This happened with he AMA, which is why it is now a danger to the health of the American people.
In 1900, while attending the annual AMA convention in St. Paul, Minnesota, three doctors came up with the always-destructive but all-too-human idea of using the AMA as a front, in order to form a closed corporation for their financial benefit. A constitution, bylaws and a charter were created which appeared to give the members of the AMA a say in the activities of the corporation, whereas in reality the three directors had complete control. These three formed smaller political machines in every state, which they controlled through the main corporation.
In 1924, not surprisingly (perhaps inevitably) one of the directors became involved in a scandal and had to resign. He appointed Fishbein to take his place. Fishbein ultimately took control of the AMA, and by 1934 owned all of the stock. In his new position he was able to assume dictatorial control of the state licensing boards and made it as difficult as he could for any doctor who did not join. He, and the three doctors who formed the corporation, were little more than extortionists, ones who made millions by using the power of the State.
The AMA, which started out as a legitimate organization, rapidly became crooked. And Fishbein was the main cause.
The worst of Fishbein’s sins was his destruction of Royal Rife.
Royal Raymond Rife I don’t know if Royal Raymond Rife was legitimate or not. I believe the evidence leans towards his being a once-in-a-century genius.
He was born in 1888 in Elkhorn, Nebraska, and died in 1971, at age 83. He grew up with a passion for microscopes, microbiology, and electronics.
He was brilliant. There can be no doubt about that. He invented technology still used today in optics, electronics, radiochemistry, biochemistry, ballistics, and aviation. Some of his many inventions included a heterodyning ultraviolet microscope, a microdissector, and a micromanipulator. He studied at John Hopkins, received 14 major awards, and was honored with an honorary doctorate from the University of Heidelberg. He worked for Zeiss Optics, the US government, and several private employers, the most notable of them being Henry Timkin, who made millions manufacturing roller bearings.
Most people have never heard of Rife.
By 1920, Rife had built the world’s first microscope that was strong enough for the him to see a virus (he sometimes had to painfully adjust his microscope for up to 24 hours to get the specimen into focus). By 1932, after 12 years and five microscopes, he perfected his technology and had constructed the largest and most powerful of them, which he called his "Universal Microscope." It had almost 6,000 different parts and could magnify objects 61,000 times their normal size. With this two-foot-tall, 200-pound microscope, Rife became the first to see a live virus, and until recently, his microscope was the only one which could do this.
Modern electron microscopes, although more powerful than Rife’s invention, instantly kill the viruses they are focused upon. Rife’s microscope left the viruses alive, so they could be studied.
Rife’s genius was first introduced to the public in the San Diego Union newspaper in 1929, and was followed by an article in Popular Science in 1931. Articles describing his great scientific breakthroughs appeared in the established scientific press in for the first time in late 1931 in Science magazine, as well as California and Western Medicine.
In 1944, the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC, published a detailed article about Rife in their national journal, with his microscope the focus of it. But what was revealed to their readers was not only Rife’s microscope, but how he was able to destroy disease-causing pathogens.
As far back as 1920, Rife had identified a virus that he believed caused cancer. He called it the "BX virus." He made over 20,000 unsuccessful attempts to transform normal cells into tumor cells. He failed until he irradiated the virus, caught it in a porcelain filter, and injected in into lab animals. Using this technique, he created 400 tumors in a row.
He began subjecting this virus to different radio frequencies to see if it was affected by them. He discovered what he called the "Mortal Oscillatory Rate" (MOR) of the virus. He successfully cured cancer in his 400 experimental animals before he decided to run tests on humans.
What Rife was doing was using resonance to kill the virus. Everything vibrates at different frequencies. If the resonance is correct, it can be used to shatter, just as a singer can use it to break a wineglass. By finding the proper resonance, Rife was able to shatter the virus. This is why he called it the Mortal Oscillatory Rate.
Rife claims he also discovered the frequencies which destroyed herpes, polio, spinal meningitis, tetanus, influenza, and many other dangerous, disease-causing organisms. All told, there were over 50 infectious diseases that he apparently discovered cures for.
How did Rife do this? He painstakingly obtained the MORS by tuning the dial of the frequency generator while observing the sample pathogen under his microscope. When a frequency was discovered that destroyed a particular microorganism, its dial position was marked. The actual frequencies were determined later after his experiments. What he did, he apparently did intuitively and unwittingly, and it is doubtful he completely understood the theoretical method he utilized. For one thing, there was at that time no theory to explain what he was doing. (In doing research for this article, I have come to the conclusion that Rife was so far advanced over currently available theories that he could not explain what he was doing.)
In the summer of 1934, one of Rife’s close friends, Dr. Milbank Johnson, along with the University of Southern California, appointed a Special Medical Research Committee to bring 16 terminally cancer patients from Pasadena County Hospital to Rife’s San Diego Laboratory and clinic for treatment. The team included doctors and pathologists assigned to examine the patients – if they were still alive – after 90 days.
Some of the other scientists and doctors Rife worked with were: E.C. Rosenow, Sr. (longtime Chief of Bacteriology, Mayo Clinic); Arthur Kendall (Director, Northwestern Medical School); Dr. George Dock; Alvin Foord (pathologist); Rufus Klein-Schmidt (President of USC); R.T. Hamer (Superintendent, Paradise Valley Sanitarium); Whalen Morrison (Chief Surgeon, Santa Fe Railway); George Fischer (Childrens Hospital, N.Y.); Edward Kopps (Metabolic Clinic, La Jolla); Karl Meyer (Hooper Foundation, S.F.); and M. Zite (Chicago University).
At first, the patients were given three minutes of the appropriate frequency every day. The treatment consisted of the patients standing next to one of Rife’s generators, which irradiated them. It was much the same as standing in front of a large fluorescent light. The researchers soon learned this was too much of the treatment. Suspecting the human body needed more time to dispose of the dead toxins, they reduced the time to three minutes every third day.
After the 90 days of treatment, the committee concluded that 14 of the patients had been completely cured. After the treatment was adjusted, the remaining two of the patients responded within the next four weeks. The total recovery rate using Rife’s technology was 100%. The treatment was painless, and the side effects, minimal, if any. Except for building the generators, the total cost was a little electricity (today, the cost of treating a cancer patient averages $300,000 were person. That’s a lot of money, and the cancer industry is big business.)
Rife wrote in 1953, "Sixteen cases were treated at the clinic for many types of malignancy. After three months, 14 of these so-called hopeless cases were signed off as clinically cured by the staff of five medical doctors and Dr. Alvin G. Foord, M.D., pathologist for the group."
In 1937 Rife and some colleagues established a company called Beam Ray. They manufactured fourteen of Rife’s "frequency instruments." Dr. James Couche, who was present at the clinic, used one of Rife’s machines with great success for 22 years, long after the AMA had banned it.
Then, to Rife’s, and the nation’s great misfortune, Fishbein heard about Rife’s frequency machine.
Fishbein sent an attorney to make a token attempt to buy out Rife. Rife refused. Although no one knows the exact terms of the offer, it was probably similar to the one Fishbein made to Harry Hoxsey for his herbal cancer remedy (which Fishbein, in court, had to admit worked on skin cancer):
Fishbein and his associates would receive all profits for nine years and Hoxey would receive nothing. Then, if they were satisfied that it worked, Hoxsey would begin to receive 10% of the profits. When Hoxsey refused, Fishbein used his political connections to have Hoxsey arrested 125 times in a period of 16 months. The charges (based on practicing without a license) were always thrown out of court, but Fishbein harassed Hoxsey for 25 years. The only good thing that came out of it is that the scandal forced Fishbein to resign.
Fishbein then offered Phil Hoyland, an investor in Beam Ray and an electrical engineer who had helped build the frequency instruments, legal assistance in an attempt to steal the company from Rife and the other investors. A lawsuit ensued.
The trial of 1939 put an end to the proper scientific investigation of Rife’s frequency machine. Rife, who was not as resilient as Hoxsey, became unglued. Unable to cope with the savage and unfair attacks in court, he crumbled, turned to alcohol, and became an alcoholic. This, even though he won the case. Unfortunately, the legal bills bankrupted Beam Ray, and it closed down. Fishbein used his power within the AMA to halt any further investigation of Rife’s work.
In 1950 Rife joined up with John Crane, who was an electrical engineer. They worked together for ten years, building more advanced frequency machines. But in 1960 the AMA closed them down. Crane was imprisoned for three years and one month, even though fourteen patients testified as to the effectiveness of the machine (the forewoman of the jury was an AMA doctor). Rife died in 1971, from a combination of alcohol and Valium. He had spend the last one-third of his life as an alcoholic.
What happened to all of those who had supported Rife? By 1939 most of them were denying they ever knew him, even though 44 of them had honored Rife on November 20, 1939 with a banquet billed as "The End to All Diseases" at Dr. Milbank’s Pasadena estate.
Arthur Kendall, who worked with Rife on the cancer virus, accepted almost a quarter of a million dollars to suddenly "retire" in Mexico. This was a huge amount of money during the Depression. Dr. George Dock was silenced with an enormous grant, along with the highest honors the AMA could bestow. Everyone except Dr. Couche and Dr. Milbank Johnson gave up Rife’s work and went back to prescribing drugs. Johnson died in 1944.
The medical journals, supported almost entirely by drug company advertising revenues and controlled by the AMA, refused to publish any paper by anyone on Rife’s therapy. Generations of medical students graduated without hearing of Rife’s breakthroughs in medicine.
And what happened to Rife’s decades of meticulous evidence of his work, including film and stop-motion photographs? Parts of his instruments, photographs, film, and written records were stolen from his lab. No one knows who was behind it. No one was never caught.
Rife’s documentation for the cancer clinic was lost when he lent them to Dr. Arthur Yale a few years later. Barry Lynes, who reintroduced Rife’s work to the public in 1986, in his book The Cancer Cure that Worked, wrote, "Documents show the clinic existed and succeeded in curing cancer. And doctors who continued treating seriously ill people with success because of what the frequency instrument accomplished in 1934 tell the real story, as do signed reports from cured cancer patients in later years."
While Rife attempted to reproduce his missing data, his virus microscopes were vandalized. Pieces of his Universal Microscope were stolen. Earlier, arson had destroyed the multi-million dollar Burnett Lab in New Jersey, just as the scientists there were preparing to announce confirmation of Rife’s work. But the last blow came later, when police illegally confiscated the remainder of Rife’s 50 years of research.
Fortunately, his death was not the end of his electronic therapy. A few humanitarian doctors and engineers attempted to reconstruct his frequency machines and keep his work alive.
But do these modern machines work? I don’t know. Modern reseachers are trying to replicate the life’s work of what may been one of the greatest geniuses in history.
If you’ll look at the reviews of Lynes’ book at Amazon.com., there are people who swear by Rife’s machines. A doctor I know (who lives outside the US and wishes to remain anonymous) told me, "I have a feeling the Rife machines that are now available to us do not have the correct frequencies...the machines I’ve experienced have limited settings and transmit a general range of frequencies." But she uses something similar, specifically the LISTEN and the much more advanced BEST machines, invented by James Clark.
She told me several of her case histories, one of which I will reproduce here: "[I was treating] a nine-weeks-old baby that was blue and dying...doctors couldn’t find anything wrong with her. I found Ross River fever (mosquito transmitted) and the baby began to respond within two hours of giving her the frequencies, and went on to make a full recovery, just after one treatment. The parents did demand a blood test for the baby to confirm the Ross River virus – which it was! There was nothing the doctors could have done about it. I used to think that somehow the electromagnetic frequency gave the body the right information to deal with the virus. We now know how this works – due to Sharry Edwards, (another practitioner in the States I’ve studied with, who uses low-frequency sound for healing). She has access to great lab equipment, and last year applied the frequencies representing various parasite, bacteria and viruses to blood containing these pathogens. Under a special high-powered microscope, she observed that the frequency shattered the "mask" – the protein DNA that the pathogen would cloak itself with – and expose the invader to the immune system, would would immediately attack and destroy."
This is essentially what Rife discovered over 80 years ago. We are 80 years behind where we should be, because of one despicable man, Morris Fishbein, who used the State to halt the advance of medicine, and to line his own pockets.
The LISTEN and BEST machines are legal in the US...but not totally. Said this doctor:
"Practitioners in the States do not use the ‘imprinting’ facility of the machines – that is, broadcasting the frequency. Since this broadcasting is not permitted by your laws, the device is added to the machine when we buy them."
In other words, it is illegal in the US to use the machines to attempt to cure disease. The proper parts aren’t even on the machine. It’s illegal for a doctor to even suggest such a cure is possible.
There are other instruments (and other inventors) who, past and present, have discovered the same thing Rife did. Gaston Naessons, Hulda Clark and Antoine Priore have invented similar instruments. All suffered persecution at the hands of the State. Are they legitimate? All I can say is that they had an enormous amount of support from their patients.
What would have happened if Rife had suceeded, and Fishbein had failed? If what Rife was doing actually worked, there would be a lot of people who would have not died of cancer. A lot of the medical profession would have ceased to exist. It certainly didn’t take a doctor to operate Rife’s machines.
Scientists and researches could have devoted more time and money to things we are far behind on, like growing organs and limbs. The hundreds of billions of dollars that has flowed to the unholy alliance of the AMA, FDA, drug industry and the State, would have never been.
The cure for these problems? Remove the State backing from the AMA and FDA, and unleash the power and creatively of the free market. Many people have been brainwashed into thinking the State protects them. The truth is the exact opposite.
