Daniel Day-Lewis is a talented Jewish
(Daniel Day-Lewis, Wikipedia) actor. Mr.
Day-Lewis enjoyed a happy Jewish childhood
governed by the Talmud and other Jewish
writings, being “often in trouble for
shoplifting and other petty crimes”. (id.)
With his careful Jewish upbringing, he was a natural for leading roles in the film industry. Like in the film Gandhi where he played a street thug/bully. In a stage play of Dracula, he took the lead role.In The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Day-Lewis acted the role of a Jew who had sex only for physical gratification, but made the mistake of getting involved emotionally with a woman. “During the eight-month shoot he learned Czech and first began to refuse to break character on or off the set for the entire shooting schedule“. (id.) (emphasis added)
Probably the high point of his career came when “he played half of a gay bi-racial couple in My Beautiful Laundrette”. (id.) Undoubtedly this talented actor refused to “break character” during the entire shooting schedule.
After
years of introspection in obscurity, Mr.
Day-Lewis came back in the hit film Gangs of
New York. Produced by well-known Jew Harvey
Weinstein, this film shows Mr. Day-Lewis as
a vicious gang leader known as “Bill the
Butcher”. The Butcher “has a pure hatred for
Ireland and the Irish people”. (id.)
This hatred leads to conflict. In the end, Bill the Butcher dies in a fight to secure his “cut”.
Cut? That’s a skim off the top. A percentage of the profits.
We learned here about a church group in Texas which deprived the Jew of his cut, both in matters of love and business. The Jews resented this so much that they decided to shut down their competitors. They sent in a heavily-armed gang and grabbed all the children.
Cut
a Jew out of the profits, and
THERE WILL BE
BLOOD.
Also, by the way, the title of Daniel Day-Lewis’ latest film, where “What we see is a man in a turn-of-the-20th-century wardrobe who literally pulls himself out of the earth’s bowels to grab hold of wealth and power.” (Lisa Schwarzbaum, There Will Be Blood (2007), EW.com)(emphasis added)
Day Lewis is well known as an actor who doesn’t break character. He seems to get lots and lots of rolls involving a grab for wealth and power.
In the film, “no woman is ever seen in his life, he’s accompanied on his landgrabs by the sweet-faced, sharply observant boy he calls his son and business partner”. (id.) (emphasis added) We recall Day-Lewis’ sterling performance as a gay man into interracial sex in My Beautiful Laundrette. And, quite correctly, that Mr. Day-Lewis doesn’t like to “break character”.
This
single-mindedness results in a “magnificent
performance”. (id.)
it can hardly be called an ”act,” so fully does the fictional Daniel come alive, with all the fury, hatred, restlessness, and distrust that courses through him (id.)
“when not searching Day-Lewis’ frightening eyes (one a squint, the other a glint) or bracing ourselves unconsciously against the aggressive threat of Plainview’s forward-thrusting stance, we’re spooked by the shifty, menacing, Holy Roller softness mustered by Little Miss Sunshine’s Paul Dano as the evangelical preacher Eli Sunday, who comes to bedevil Daniel’s schemes for years.” (id.)
Now if you think this film is a purely historical work, with no application to current affairs, you’d be wrong.
“For
a story set in the fabled bad-old-days past,
it’s got the terrors of modernity in its
DNA.” (id.)
Hmm.
Modernity.
“Antagonistic
investor Carl Icahn became a
billionaire by
bullying already distressed
companies” (Michael Liedtke, Icahn’s big bet
on Yahoo hinges on Microsoft sale, AP, June
8, 2008 )(emphasis added)
Mr. Day-Lewis, the actor well-known for not breaking character, has played rolls as a bully.
Antagonistic? Compare with “fury, hatred, restlessness, and distrust” (Schwarzbaum, supra)
“Icahn, 72, has used a combination of guile, gall, grit and gamesmanship to get his way more often than not since he began tormenting vulnerable companies 30 years ago.” (Liedtke, supra)(emphasis added)
Amazing. Daniel Day-Lewis plays these rolls, and never has to break character. So does Mr. Icahn, who is also Jewish.
“Having spent more than $1 billion for a 4.3 percent stake in the company, Yahoo represents one of Icahn’s biggest bets yet.” (id.) Mr. Icahn is hoping that Microsoft, led by Jewish Chief Executive Steve Ballmer, will take over Yahoo, giving him a big profit on his stocks.
But
there’s been a problem: With the possibility
of a Microsoft takeover, the Yahoo board of
directors adopted a plan to compensate
workers dismissed as a consquence of a
merger. “The plan could have raised
Microsoft’s costs in taking over Yahoo by as
much as $2 billion.” (Seth Sutel, As Icahn
grumbles, Yahoo sets plans for ad growth,
AP, June 5, 2008 ) Yahoo boss Jerry Yang
was thinking about the well-being of Yahoo
employees.
Or we could just call Jerry Yang “the evangelical preacher Eli Sunday, who comes to bedevil Daniel’s schemes for years“.
Jew Steve Ballmer at Microsoft noted that this could raise takover costs. The Jew Carl Icahn saw the move impacting his profits.
“in a letter to Yahoo on Wednesday, Icahn said he would press for Yahoo’s board to be removed if it didn’t scrap a severance plan it adopted after Microsoft began its takeover attempt Jan. 31.” Why should Jewish money interests be deprived of 2 billion dollars?
Think of all those poor and needy Jews. Like Mr. Icahn. “The conquests helped Icahn build an estimated fortune of $14 billion after starting out on Wall Street with a $4,000 bankroll from his winnings playing poker.” (Liedtke, supra) This Jew only has $14 billion, and Jerry Yang wants to stiff him out of another $2 billion. THERE WILL BE BLOOD.
But all
this talk about blood? Surely its just a
grab for “wealth and power”.
No.
Its something more. When people try to
deprive the Jew of his cut, THERE WILL BE
BLOOD:
“Shareholders led by billionaire Carl Icahn have been calling for Yahoo co-founder and CEO Jerry Yang’s head“. (Seth Sutel, As Icahn grumbles, Yahoo sets plans for ad growth, AP, June 5, 2008 )(emphasis added)
