The Ultimate Evil:Mind Control, Satanism,Assassinations and the Son of Uncle Sam
SON OF UNCLE SAM
Part 1 of 3 My transcript of a talk given by Dave Emory entitled "The Ultimate Evil: Mind Control, Satanism, & the U.S. National Security Establishment". Emory shares the microphone with an unidentified co-host, designated here as CO-HOST. CO-HOST: ..*The Ultimate Evil*. Subtitled, "An investigation into America's most dangerous Satanic cult". The book is written by Maury Terry, first name M-a-u-r-y. Last name, Terry. And the book is published by... It's a Dolphin book, published by Doubleday & Company. Copyright 1987. So, Maury Terry's, *The Ultimate Evil*. DAVE EMORY: Now what this book is about, basically, is, it links many of the brutal serial killers of the last 20 years or so together. The subtitle of *The Ultimate Evil* is called, "An investigation of America's most dangerous Satanic cult, with new evidence linking Charlie Manson and the Son of Sam [a.k.a. "The Son of Uncle Sam"]. In the time that we have here we're not even gonna *begin* to be able to do justice to this book. In a nutshell, basically, what they're talking about with *The Ultimate Evil* is the fact that some of the horrible crimes which America has experienced over the last 2 decades or so are not, in fact, the work of "lone nuts" any more than the killing of President Kennedy was the work of a "lone nut". In fact, it appears that occultists -- specifically, Devil worshippers (and as we'll go into later in the broadcast, it appears that Devil worship is merely the *front* for this particular type of activity -- although many of the dupes involved at the operational level probably do *believe* in this kind of thing), but that basically, what we have here is an insidious form of organized crime, one which is *explicitly* Nazi and that touches on some of the occult connections to Nazism. And which appears to have links not only to local police departments and very influential professional people, but quite probably to our own intelligence system as well. One of the things that we talked about in Radio Free America #5 [CN -- Note that this is *not* the same Radio Free America sponsored by *The Spotlight* and hosted by Tom Valentine. This is a different radio program of the same name.], which is going to be coming up in, on Wednesday, October 28th, on KKUP, 8 to midnight, was the fact that one of the things that our national security establishment has been involved in is the deliberate programming of hypno-killers. People who are particularly described as passive-aggressive personalities are subjected to increasing degrees of visual violence. They're shown films of people being mutilated, and killed in accidents, and things of this type, so that gradually they become de-sensitized to human suffering and bloodshed. Now, as I say, we can't even *begin* to do credit to this book in the time allotted here. We'll probably go back to it next week and eventually we'll probably have to do an archive show on it. But in a nutshell, it appears that this Satanic cult (and we're gonna talk more about this in a second) is, in effect, an organized crime cabal, and specifically appears to have a mind control function. The people at the operational level *are* apparently practicing Satanists and Devil worshippers... You know, with blood drinking ceremonies, and the black mass, and all that kind of stuff. But it *appears*, as we're gonna look at, that the people controlling this may or may not believe in that -- but they certainly have ulterior motives. The crimes that this organized crime syndicate is involved in include drug smuggling, murder, kiddie porn, prostitution, the making of "snuff flicks", weapons smuggling, cocaine smuggling from Columbia via Miami, heroin smuggling via Hawaii from Southeast Asia. Obviously, these are things we've looked at in the past, in connection with the intelligence services. Now in a nutshell, the Son of Sam killings, the .44 killings in New York City, are linked in a hard way with this organized crime cult -- which is what I'm gonna refer to it as. It appears to be, to a considerable measure, an intelligence front as well. In addition, they link the Manson killings to this same group. And they point out that both Manson, *and* David Berkowitz, the man convicted in the Son of Sam killings... Well parts of this group were basically selected as fall guys -- in other words, the really powerful people are being protected -- they were simply run in as the "lone nuts", as the "Lee Harvey Oswalds", or whatever. Now the cult itself appears to be an offshoot, that involved elements of a number of different occult organizations. People, we're not impugning the Church of Scientology, nor are we endorsing it. But *elements* of the Scientology organization, in particular, apparently, spin-offs of Scientologists, have generated a cult called "The Process". We're gonna go into what The Process is. And then again, elements of The Process (not necessarily the whole thing, but most of it) have, in turn, hooked up with members of Aleister Crowley's OTO organization. (That was an occult group founded in Germany in 1902. Or actually, the Golden Dawn merged with Crowley's OTO.) Crowley was a so-called "black adept", a person who believed in black magic and participated in it.
January 1972 issue of The Process magazine Click on magazine to explore it and make up your own mind about The Process.
As we're gonna look at in a future book about, uh a future program about UFO cults and... you know, the people that worship the (quote) "UFOs" and who in turn appear to be explicitly connected to the intelligence community and Nazi elements. Or that Alestair Crowley *himself* worked as an intelligence agent both for Britain and the United States, and Nazi Germany. So there are strong intelligence connections to Aleister Crowley. The cult we're talking about appears to involve elements of Scientology -- primarily dissident elements -- and in particular, The Process itself, which in turn was founded by a couple of wayward Scientologists, people who were involved with L. Ron Hubbard's organization and then broke off, spun off, to form their own cult. In turn, elements of The Process (with a capital "P") hooked up with elements of Aleister Crowley's OTO. And this is the cult we're talking about. And I want to make a point clear: we're not necessarily pointing the finger at any or all of these organizations -- although The Process appears to be essentially an infernal... literally, a Devil worshipping organization. But you know, we don't want to say, "O.K. This is what the Scientologists do." We're talking about *elements* of these groups, in particular elements which spun off and formed their *own* organization. But this is the organization *behind* the Manson killings, behind so many of these serial killings that we've been looking at. And one of the things that I think is so *important* about this book: it not only points out that these aren't the work of "lone nuts" but all of these killers are hooked together. They're part of a crime syndicate, they are protected by the authorities, and in particular, they are explicitly *Nazi*. This is the organization we're talking about here. Next week, perhaps, we'll go into the long series of killings [unclear] that were initiated to *cover* *up* the work of this particular organization. We're not, you know, we're not talking about "the Devil" here (although one could think about it that way). What we're looking at is something which *uses* the occult as a front. And it should be noted here, as we're gonna talk about in future broadcasts, that occult organizations have long been favored by the uh, by intelligence agents, as covers. Specifically because they tend to exist at the periphery of public scrutiny and are therefore good covers. Beyond that, because they do a lot of weird things. It serves as a very good cover for activities which might otherwise look very strange. But this is the organization, again -- Berkowitz, Manson, and many others *were* involved with the organization. But *equally* importantly were not, not only were not by themselves, operating by themselves, but were not even the *primary* element here. The primary elements, the controlling elements, appear to be very, very well-off and very well-connected, with ties to organized crime, local police departments, and in all probability, our own intelligence system. But again: the cult here is a combination of Scien... elements from the Scientologists -- primarily dissident, spin-off elements -- The Process church, and Aleister Crowley's OTO. Those are the groups behind, that's the organization behind, all these killings. And the point, for our purposes here, is they are *explicitly* Nazi. CO-HOST: O.K. We're gonna have some other names in here that will be unfamiliar because, again, we're starting with a section almost 400 pages into this book. And there's been a great deal done before that, and we'll get back to Dave and let him explain who some of these folks are. Anyway, first they're talking about some ex cult-devotees, who are talking to the author. DAVE EMORY: Right. The "Danny" and "Vinnie" mentioned here were prison informants who had been providing the authors as well as police investigators a lot of information about this group. It's *big*. A lot of people know about it. And some of the people that helped unearth the investigation by Maury Terry and others were informants in the prison, imprisoned with some of the people connected with the cult. CO-HOST: O.K. "According to Danny and Vinnie," writes Maury Terry, "the cult originated in England. *They* didn't know the names 'Process', 'Chingon'" (which is a, who's a high muckity-muck code name in the cult) "or 'OTO'. But the English origin information was enough to put it over the top. Both The Process and Alestair Crowley's OTO were rooted in England." "The group had a main headquarters near Los Angeles. And both confirmed that 'Manson II' was from L.A. and was involved in the Arlis Perry murder." EMORY: Yeah. "Manson II", by the way, was a fellow linked with Charlie Manson. He appears to have been one of the main Son of Sam killers, and a primary controlling element in this particular cult. Arlis Perry was a woman from Bismarck, South... er North Dakota who was a devout Christian activist and was *murdered* in the Stanford University church in 1974 in a ritualistic killing by this group. By the way, one of the points that they make in this book is that some killings are performed for ritualistic, Black Mass purposes. Other killings are *specific* assassinations; that's, individuals have been targeted by one element or another, for one reason or another. And that other killings are performed simply to cover those up -- they're simply random killings, meant to obscure the others as kind of a "deadly camouflage". CO-HOST: O.K. "The group had a main headquarters near Los Angeles, and both confirmed that 'Manson II' was from L.A. and was involved in the Arlis Perry murder. He was also involved in at least *one* Son of Sam shooting, they said: that of Christine Freund." [...] EMORY: It's also interesting that this particular cult went underground after the assassination of Robert Kennedy. One of the things we've spoken about in Radio Free America #12: first of all, Robert Kennedy's campaign managers in the L.A. area were Sharon Tate and Roman Polanski. The evening before he was assassinated, he [RFK] revealed in a dinner at their home that he'd have to wait until he got in the White House before he could re-open [the investigation into] his brother's murder. In fact, [the investigation into] his brother's murder *was* eventually re-opened and it basically endorsed the results of [Jim] Garrison's investigation. However, Robert Kennedy was not to live more than 24 hours after that, and Sharon Tate was not to live a *whole* lot longer after that. Polanski lucked out and was not at the house at the time [i.e., when Sharon Tate was murdered]. Another thing we talked about in Radio Free America #12 was how Ed Butler, the U.S. Army Intelligence agent who was instrumental in painting Oswald "red", turned up in Los Angeles, in the employ of Knight of Malta Patrick Frawley(sp?), and began publishing in a right-wing paper that this was obviously the work of the Black Panthers or other left-wing radicals. And it's worth noting, too, that another thing we talked about in Radio Free America #12, was how Charlie Manson now is a tremendous hero among certain California Nazi groups. [...] Berkowitz signed a threatening letter to neighbor Glassman(sp?) with "Brother" (another Process level) and he'd written "H.H." on the envelope of one of the anonymous letters he'd mailed to Sam Carr (that was also a neighbor): "This, I would later learn, signified 'Heil Hitler' -- a Process demi-god." "Regarding Hitler-Process links (which also brought Fred Cowan into the fold), I would learn that an associate of Berkowitz told police in 1977 that Berkowitz frequented the White Plains Road area of the northeast Bronx and 'possessed and wore Nazi insignia.'" So again, more Nazi connections to David Berkowitz and the Son of Sam cult, running out to the Manson family, and very, very powerful elements thereof. CO-HOST: And I believe Fred Cowan (if I remember correctly) was somebody who *himself* was a mass murderer and killed, like, 6 people and just happened to have at one point either lived in the same house that Berkowitz had lived in, or they had mutual friends of some kind? EMORY: We're about to review that connection. CO-HOST: Ah! O.K. Good. Here we are. All right, reading another section here. O.K. Maury Terry, the author, is talking to a man by the name of Mitteager. EMORY: He's a fellow investigator, Jim Mitteager. I *believe* a former New York City policeman, but I'd have to check. A lot of his investigators were former or active-duty cops. CO-HOST: O.K. Now the... There's a reference to "I" -- that's Maury Terry talking about himself: Now what's this about Jack Cassera from New Rochelle? Mitteager explained that Cassera, from whom Berkowitz -- (again, that's David Berkowitz, the Son of Sam) -- from whom Berkowitz rented a room in 1976, was a co-worker of Fred Cowan, an avowed neo-Nazi who murdered 6 people before killing himself during a day-long siege at the Neptune Moving Company in New Rochelle on Valentine's Day, 1977. Moreover, Berkowitz kept a file of news clippings on Cowan in his Yonkers apartment, and had referred to him as "one of the sons". "Did you know that?" Mitteager asked. "Yes. I found that out in August. I'd been saying up here that if I was Cassera, I'd of written a first-person article for *Reader's Digest* on "My Most Unforgettable Character". Mitteager laughed, and then turned serious. "What do you think the odds are that one guy, Cassera, would have Son of Sam living at his house, and work with Fred Cowan during the day? And then, have Berkowitz with a file on Cowan?" I cut in. "I'd say the odds were incalculable. And you don't know *how* the hell Berkowitz ended up finding Cassera's place either." Mitteager was on the edge of his seat now. "Maybe Cowan knew from Cassera [that] the room was available, and that's how Berkowitz found out. It makes sense. It's certainly possible. I think there's a lot of smoke there and there just might be a fire to go with it." Mitteager and I agreed that if the scenario was correct, Jack Cassera, then in his mid-60s, was almost certainly an innocent link between the two murderers [Berkowitz and Cowan]. But we also concurred that it was too much to think that there was no connection between Cowan and Berkowitz. Especially in light of Berkowitz' comments *about* the Hitler-worshipping killer. EMORY: And again, due to the limitations of time, we're not gonna be able to do justice to this book. We'll come back to it during part of our prepared portion next week. Eventually we'll have to do an archive show, I think, on this type of material -- this book in particular. Mae Brussell has been pointing out, for a number of years, her thesis -- which has endured, by the way, a lot of scorn at the hands of many people -- that in fact all of these serial killers were, in fact, a form of *agent* *provocateur*. What this is, basically, according to Mae's thesis (and it appears to be borne out in terrifying fashion and degree by this particular book) is that this is a type of application of the "strategy of tension". That is you take a society and you unleash all of these horrendous screwball killers -- or killers we're *told* are screwballs -- it has the effect of driving the political spectrum to the "right". People want "law and order". They want stronger laws, more cops, more jails, quicker capital punishment. And in general, it predisposes them to accepting the incredible. It's just, "Well with all those 'nuts' out there, you never know who's gonna do what." So, if 900 people "commit suicide" in the jungle under preposterous circumstances, or if "lone nuts" come foreward and begin killing politicians, it... there's a context in which that occurs. But again, this is a way of driving people to the "right". These *horrible* killings, these apparent screwballs running all over the place, just gives the impression of a society that is decaying. "What we need is 'law and order.'" "We need a Fuehrer." "We need someone to set this right." We need....... George Bush!! CO-HOST: [laughs] George. Again, for those of you who haven't had a chance to: go out and get this book. (Which is probably most of you since it is very new [CN -- ca. 1987].) And again, if you want an example of something we've talked about in the past, it's the way that these kinds... If you're wondering how these things can crop up and then they just get ignored this way, or they get downplayed, or why don't people think about, talk about these things -- well. We talked in great length about the fact that John Hinckley, [who] took a shot at Ronald Reagan, not only had heavy connections between his family and George Bush's family which, let's face it, no Agatha Christie-type mystery in the *world* would get away with something as obvious as that as far as a plot twist. But then on top of it, John Hinckley was a member of a Nazi group! And had a Nazi uniform and went to Nazi rallies. And there were interviews in the newspaper with his Nazi buddies who said, "Gee. We always thought the guy was the '*heat*'. We thought he had to be a government agent, he was so crazy." And *then*, when John Hinckley's trial came along, both the defense *and* the prosecution agreed that the Nazi part of John Hinckley's career was entirely a figment of John Hinckley's imagination! And even after there'd been national newspaper articles with his old Nazi *bund* mates talking about him. Then they managed to, the prosecution and defense managed to agree that there *was* no such thing as John Hinckley's Nazi past. So if you folks think that, if you wonder how something like the uh, some of these details about David Berkowitz or the Manson family can "scoot by" under the table, just remember that one, which was only seven years ago [CN -- now, ca. 1994, approx. 14 years ago]. EMORY: One of the most ominous connections here is that there are connections to very powerful elements, including elements of police, elements of the military and intelligence community. I would have preferred that Maury Terry went even farther than he did. But this is a *masterpiece* of investigation and really is gonna open up a whole new area of political research for people. Now one of the things that's most important for us to understand is that the Satanism is largely a cover. In other words, the people used at the operational level (God have mercy on them) *do* appear to believe in this sickness. But that the point is, the people who run it, the ones who do *not* take the falls like the Berkowitzes and the Mansons, apparently do *not* believe in Satan, or if they do, they're using this group for ulterior motives. And basically, it's an organized crime syndicate that's not only involved in murder but other things. A couple of sections will give you an idea what we're talking about. This again, from another one of the prison informants who helped break the case: Drugs *are* involved. I feel the *real* key to exposing the group is through drug and porn connections. Illegal weapons are also [involved]. But not as good 'cause that's sporadic. And they already have arsenals. But they need steady supplies of drugs for their own parties *and* to make money. And remember: those who head this may not believe this crap about Satan. They believe in how people can be led and used; used in a very effective way. Sickeningly effective. (And developing still further, skipping down into the book; from the *same* prison inform... or actually, a different prison informant): The motive is drugs. I have all the details. Some .44 shootings were "hits". Pornography is also involved. Also, "snuff films" on videotape... (I would interrupt that a "snuff flick" is actually a *film* of an actual killing. Usually, the victim is female and [is] dispatched in an explicitly *sexual* context. But it's an actual film of an actual killing.) Also, "snuff films" on videotape. And that, sir, is *proof*. This is not just sick. It is big business. Someone has gotten rich off the bloodshed, and I can back up every single word. I'll give you facts. What you do with them will determine how much you get. You see, I don't trust you. I trust what [Abraham] Lincoln said, "You can't make [expletive deleted] out of the people forever." I think that's how he said it. That's how *I* say it. The authorities are elected to protect, not to censor and cover up. Gannett newspapers is always B.S.-ing, "You care about the public's right to know." Prove it. I've got my [expletive deleted] on the line. We have a deal to talk. And my writing this letter is a commitment: I'm risking my life. Does that maybe "challenge" you? Even if they "waste" me, you've got a story. The children... (And these are the "sons" alluded to earlier in the Nazi references.) The children were very literally being raised to kill. (This was a reference to wall writing in Berkowitz' apartment: "My children I'm raising to be killers.") Wait 'till they grow up. For very real reasons, there *is* a "Black Master". Only he is not an illusion. Dr. Abrahamson also came close to this realization. Berkowitz feared... (That's a psychiatrist assigned to Berkowitz.) Berkowitz feared [that] Abrahamson knew; that he'd figured it out. Check the ballistics report. *More* than one weapon was used. They can't "argue" about that one. Those conflicting composites do *not* prove [that] eyewitnesses are worthless. Perhaps they prove the cop/D.A. political mentality is dangerously prejudiced. "Sam" was a "Squeaky" Fromme, nothing more glamorous than a "patsy". (That's a reference to Berkowitz here.) He laughed when he was apprehended. Sure. Why not? It was orchestrated. Do you believe he actually transported guns like that? No. And the note, left out in the open. The visible gun. It was a setup. The apartment was a setup, made to look like he was "nuts". They (the cult) don't want a trial or an investigation. Things were getting hot. Too many experts were involved. If the investigation continued, the truth *would* have been found out. And I would say here, take note of this statement from this prison informant; that perhaps they prove the cop/D.A. political mentality is dangerously prejudiced. Another one of our listeners has done a fabulous piece of research which would indicate, perhaps, some of the people who "protect" this particular group. CO-HOST: This is a piece of writing that will not be unfamiliar to long- time *One Step Beyond* listeners. We've brought a great deal of attention to it, off and on, in the past. The book itself is entitled, *The Glasshouse Tapes*. And the book is by "The Citizens Research and Investigation Committee", which included, among other people, Mae Brussell and Donald Freed(sp?). And uh, "written with Louis E. Tackwood". And the glasshouse tapes *themselves* are the revelations of Louis Tackwood, who was a former L.A. Police Department informer and, in fact, basically a secret agent and *provocateur* -- most important for our purposes. DAVE EMORY: Radio Free America #23, where we went into this connection, at great length. CO-HOST: At great length. And Louis Tackwood worked with, among other things, organizations that would later be involved in things like the SLA [Symbionese Liberation Army]. He had a lot to say about the way that the L.A. Police Department manipulated the prison systems and various so- called "left wing" organizations to put up... The same kind of things we've been talking about with the Italians -- using the "strategy of tension". And interestingly, something that *we* didn't remember, but, as mentioned before, one of our long-time co-workers found for us *in* *The Glasshouse Tapes* this reference, from Tackwood. Remember, a lot of the things that Tackwood talked about *in* this, at the time looked pretty strange. And several of them, like the attempt to scuttle the 1972 Republican convention, later turned out in fact to have been actual truth. And it just didn't sound like it at the time, 'cause they sound pretty wild. And here's another thing of Tackwood's that looked pretty wild for about 15 years. And now, with this publication of the Maury Terry book, is beginning to look a little prophetic. Tackwood is, again, talking about the L.A. Police Department and how they set up some of their provocations: Tackwood had also said... Oh! I should mention real quickly before I start reading from *The Glasshouse Tapes*. The copy that *we* have was a paperback, copyright 1973, published by Avon Books. Tackwood had also said, "Then, like the dynamite deal, you don't know that there's a devil-worship cult in Pasadena. Actually, in Altadena. They are definitely on the L.A.P.D. payroll, 'cause that's how we set a cat up, that cat with the dynamite." (This is a guy who's a member of the Weathermen [CN -- Armed faction of the SDS, Students for a Democratic Society].) "He was kind of leery, but I take him up to the temple (Meaning this devil-cult temple.) and these crazy-looking cats come out and say, 'We're gonna blow this up.' And he's scared to death. We shook him so, it was pathetic. And then, how you do it is, from this taxi, that car and this car, to that car, and there's a mystic thing about it. And they go for it every time. I don't care if they're the leader of the Weathermen, if you catch them right, they fall for it. If you could show 'em, like if I caught the leader of the Weatherman clique and I had a lot of bread and guns and I showed them how they could rip-off a million dollars in gold and there wasn't gonna be anyone there, I could march a squad in there with enough money and enough guns. And if you lay it on right, and show 'em how easy it is, he's gonna march right in there and get all shot up." So in this case, they're talking about, among other things, the L.A. Police Department using this devil cult as an operation with which to entrap people like the Weathermen. But obviously, when you're the L.A. Police Department, whose record of their dealings with the public has been less than laudatory and who, a careful reading of *The Glasshouse Tapes* and some of the other stuff that we've presented here on *One Step Beyond* will show you, the L.A. Police Department does not balk at using just about anything to achieve their ends. And the L.A. Police Department apparently seems to have their fingers in some pretty, pretty strange pies. EMORY: Now to give you an idea of the *size* and *scope* of this particular operation, this cult/mind control intelligence front as it really appears to be and an organized crime syndicate of a particularly heinous variety -- again, Maury Terry writes as follows, in *The Ultimate Evil*: Cults, as many experts confirm, change names frequently as circumstances demand it. The actual name wasn't all that important, but the original theology and networking was. As for the claim that approximately 1,000 people nationwide belong to the cult, this figure, while startling and ominous, was not incredible. Berkowitz, as far back as Marcy in 1978... (That's a prison in New York.) ...had said he believed he was protecting hundreds. And the original Process, with its cells in numerous American cities, stated as early as 1969 that 200 people in the United States actually joined the movement. Additionally, the Process actively sought alliances with existing occult groups, such as the Crowley-worshipping OTO. So, with expansion and recruitment since then, it was not beyond the realm of possibility that offshoot or related ranks increased their numbers by some 7 or 8 hundred across the country by 1977. And of course, the figure may have been somewhat exaggerated by those who provided it to Berkowitz. Vinnie and Danny [prison informants] also quoted Berkowitz as saying Charles Manson was a member of the cult. This, too, blended with everything we learned or would learn, including Berkowitz' "offshoot of Scientology" remark. Author Ed Sanders and Manson prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi *both* believed Manson was affiliated with the Process. In his book, *Helter Skelter*, Bugliosi said that two Process members, from Cambridge, Massachusetts, visited him to disuade him from that belief. Those same two Process-ans then called on Manson in prison, after which, Manson stopped talking about The Process. I would indicate that other elements in this book -- and we're gonna go into the many killings committed to, or apparent murders committed to cover up this crime. The claim of 1,000 members may even be an underestimate. It appears that this is a very large, and very powerful group. And again, people with tremendous wealth: show business people, professionals, as well as elements of police, military, and [the] intelligence community, appear to be deeply involved. Now the next section of the book that we're gonna read is the description of Arlis Perry, one of the victims of this particular organization. She apparently had come across one of the branches of this cult in North Dakota, where she lived. She then moved to Palo Alto, with her husband, who was beginning his sophomore year at Stanford. She was a Christian activist and spent a lot of time in church. And apparently she was followed to that church and was murdered in the Stanford church in October of 1974. Berkowitz was aware of all of the details of her killing. Uh, this is by way of making people aware of the nature of this particular beast. This is gonna be some rather *disturbing* information you're gonna hear. The point you want to think about is that this appears to be a group which has very strong connections to our government, or elements thereof. Ask yourselves whether what you're about to hear is the kind of world you want to have your children live in, or perhaps live in yourself. Think very carefully about that. CO-HOST: Yeah. If you have any children up right now, or if you yourself are weak of stomach, you might not want to listen to this next part. Again, this is a description of the Arlis Perry murder. Talking about, again, this is in the Stanford Memorial Church, in 1974. EMORY: Again, just down the road. In fact, it was 13 years ago. [CN -- Now 20 years ago.] CO-HOST: That's right. In the words of a church official who later viewed the scene, the site was "ritualistic and Satanic". And indeed, it was a vision from Hell. Arlis was lying on her back, with her body partially under the last pew in the left-side alcove, a short distance from where she was last seen praying. Above her was a large carving which had been sculptured into the church wall years before. It was an engraving of a cross. The symbolism was explicit. Arlis' head was facing forward, toward the main altar. Her legs were spread wide apart, and she was nude from the waist down. The legs of her blue jeans were spread-eagled upside-down across her calves, purposely arranged in that manner. Viewed from above, the resulting pattern of Arlis' legs and those of the inverted blue jeans took on a diamond-like shape. Arlis' blouse was torn open, and her arms were folded across her chest. Placed neatly between her breasts was an altar candle. Completing the desecration, another candle, 30 inches long, was jammed into her vagina. But that wasn't all. She'd also been beaten and choked. However none of that butchery caused her death. Arlis Perry died because an ice pick had been rammed into her skull behind her left ear. Its handle protruded grotesquely from her head. Now. Thoroughly unpleasant thing to have to think about, but again: these are the kind of people that we're talking about. This is the kind of thing that these people do. Again: *particularly* to cause terror and revulsion. Also, to pass a message to people who would talk about their organization. As apparently Arlis Perry knew enough to have caused them some trouble. EMORY: We're gonna talk about, next week, about some of the killings this group committed. It's a *staggering*... It's like the JFK assassination. However, again, as you think about whether or not you want to contribute your support to KFJC, just ask yourselves: How many media voices are even gonna *deal* with something like this? And again: those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it. And beyond that, those who never look at the past are also condemned to repeat it. [CN -- Also, so-called "historians", paid by the assassin government to tell us lies about the past, keep us in ignorance about the past and thereby condemn us to repeat it.] [The] clock is ticking, and you're not gonna be able to ignore this kind of situation for very much longer. Think about that. Think about what's happening in America. Maury Terry closes his book with a very eloquent assessment of the situation in this country: Their numbers are growing. And this time, there is no insulating middle-America. This time, it isn't an inner-city eruption that can be written off as the inevitable fall-out from poverty and slums. No, this battleground is elsewhere. The list of the dead tells that story. The killer cults were born and nurtured in the comfort zone of America, and are now victimizing it at will. Manson's haunting testimony, and a later warning from David Berkowitz, echo loudly across the years. Two statements, made on opposite coasts, nearly a decade apart. Yet the dire message is the same: "What about your children?" Manson challenged the Los Angeles courtroom as the 1970s began. "You say there are just a few? There are many, many more, coming in the same direction. They are running in the streets, and they are coming right at you." In New York, Berkowitz would write, "There are other 'sons' out there. God help the world." Sometimes, late at night, one can know the truth of their words. Through the darkness, a foreboding wail can be heard. Faintly at first, then more insistent and near, the reverberations ring through urban canyons, roll across the shadowed by-ways of Scarsdale and Bel-air, and are carried on the night wind to the remote reaches of rural countrysides. It is a mournful, curdling cry. It is the sound of America -- *screaming*. [End 1 of 3] SON OF UNCLE SAM Part 2 of 3 My transcript of a talk given by Dave Emory entitled "The Ultimate Evil: Mind Control, Satanism, & the U.S. National Security Establishment". Emory is speaking on a subsequent show. This time, there is no co-host. [...] DAVE EMORY: ..we're gonna get into the actual material from *The Ultimate Evil*. For those of you who are not familiar with it, it's a book by Maury Terry. And it, in my opinion, is one of the most important books that's ever been published in this country. It doesn't go as far, still, as I would like to have seen it go. But perhaps that is inevitable, and perhaps it's not realistic to expect any one author to go that far. This book basically links many of the horrendous serial killings that have taken place in this country -- such as the Son of Sam killings in New York, the .44 caliber killings, the depredations of the so-called "Manson family" -- and points out that these are *all* links in a nationwide chain of conspiracy. And that the people who "took the *fall*" for these crimes, David Berkowitz and Charles Manson, while involved, were actually just bit players. And that the people actually committing these crimes are *alive*, *free*, and very wealthy, very powerful, and very, very well-connected. It also appears (and this is perhaps the most disturbing thing) that these cults are perhaps fronts for some kind of intelligence activity. And that is a very disturbing thing to contemplate, certainly. It would be disturbing enough simply to think that these organizations are able to operate on their own. But the thought that something this evil and this bloody [unclear] the support of the national security establishment is *indeed* unnerving. But we're gonna be taking a look at that this evening. Most of the broadcast this evening from *The Ultimate Evil* is gonna... We're gonna examine the various murders that were committed in order to *cover* *up* the original killings. In other words, we're not gonna be going into the actual .44 killings *themselves*, *or* into the original killings at Cielo Drive in Los Angeles -- those were the Manson killings, the killings of Abigail Folger, actress Sharon Tate and others. Nor are we going to go into the LaBianca killings. We're simply gonna investigate killings or suspicious deaths that *appear* to have been committed by this organization to cover up the *truth* concerning their activities. And it's truly a *numbing* series of killings. We're gonna deal with some, oh... the better part of 20 apparent murders or suspicious deaths in connection with this case. And again: these are *not* the original killings themselves, but ones committed to cover up those crimes. [...] ..we've talked about the Unification Church in the past. The Unification Church is a very active wing of the U.S. national security establishment, in spite of the fact, obviously, it is a cult -- and a mind-control cult at that. In Radio Free America #7, a program *about* the government's mind-control programs [CN -- For a free catalog of past RFA programs, call (415) 346- 1840.], we discussed the Unification Church at considerable length and went into its bizarre political philosophy in quite some length from a book called *Gifts of Deceit*. It's worth contemplating not only how bizarre their religious philosophy *is*, but the fact that this apparently is a philosophy which our government is willing to use in spite of the fact that the Unification Church *itself* is actually the spawn of a wing of the South Korean national security establishment. Obviously their national security establishment in considerable measure was spawned by our own and is very much connected *to* our own. [CN -- Something else to contemplate: South Korea ==> Unification Church ==> connection to *Washington Times* newspaper (possibly owners) ==> G. Gordon Liddy uses *Washington Times* on his always interesting radio show ==> G. Gordon Liddy very gung ho that U.S. military should get embroiled in recent Korea "crisis".] So it's worth contemplating the government's active use of cults, against the background of what we're gonna be talking about this evening. Of course, in Radio Free America shows 5, 6, and 7, we went into the mind-control programs by the CIA and military at great length. One of those [was] recently broadcast on sister station KKUP, in Coopertino. [...] Now we're gonna get into the book, *The Ultimate Evil*. And the aspect of this organization that we're gonna deal with this evening, again, concerns the murders that were committed in order to cover up this crime. I'm gonna have to be skipping around quite a bit in the book. I may lose my place once or twice. If so, I can only counsel patience. I'm "doin' the best I can". Now it would be very difficult to describe all... it's a very complicated book. And I'm not sure how easy it's gonna be for me to describe the relevance of a lot of the killings that we're about to talk about *to* the actual Manson family and the Son of Sam killings. Suffice it to say that one of the things that we're gonna look into now is the deaths of John and Michael Carr. *Those* two individuals were the *sons* of Sam Carr. Now David Berkowitz' cover story was that he... His cover story was that he was possessed by demons; that his neighbor, Sam Carr, had demonic control over him; and that it was his *dog*, John Carr's... er Sam Carr's *dog*, that telepathically communicated to David Berkowitz in order to commit the killings. Many (as we're gonna see), many of the law enforcement officials, from the outset, did *not* believe this cover story. However, due to the influence of certain people (notably Mario Merola, of the Bronx... the *late* Mario Merola of the Bronx), David Berkowitz "took the fall". But it was allowed... His "confession" was allowed to stand. Now as it appears -- those of you who eventually get the book, *The Ultimate Evil*. It appears that Berkowitz was definitely involved in the Son of Sam killings. But he was only a participant. Two of the *main* people involved were the actual sons of Sam Carr, John and Michael Carr. They appear to have been involved not only in the .44 killings, but in the various other satanic and lewd sexual activities of this particular cult. Both John Carr, and Michael Carr, died under very strange circumstances (although there were some circumstances surrounding John Carr's death which suggest that maybe John Carr is still alive and that someone "took the fall". There are many aspects of the corpse that appears to have been John Carr's, that do not match the actual, living John Carr.) However, suffice it to say that, as Maury Terry and many of the other people who investigated The Process umbrella cult began to look *into* the background of the Son of Sam killings, as well, eventually, of the Manson killings, it began to emerge that these killings... that David Berkowitz was innocent. And as they began to pursue others who appear to have been involved, a *huge*, huge number of deaths resulted. The first one we're gonna deal with is the death of John Carr, or the apparent death of John Carr, a definite participant in the satanic activity that Berkowitz was involved with; a definite participant in the Son of Sam killings. And John Carr himself may very well have been one of the links between this organization and the military and intelligence community. When they began getting close to John Carr... We'll read you what happened. (Again, from *The Ultimate Evil*, by Maury Terry): On Saturday, February 18th, I was preparing breakfast when the phone rang. It was my mother on the line, calling from the family home in Connecticut. "What's new in your little corner of the world?" I asked. "There's something you need to know," she replied. "What is it?" "John Carr is dead." At first, I refused to believe it. Then slowly, like an insidious riptide, the realization slapped in my heels, rose up suddenly, and swept me away with a thundering crescendo. "What the hell. John Carr dead. How do you know?" The question flew in a staccato burst of confusion and panic. "I don't know, I don't know. There's a little death notice in this morning's Westchester paper. It's not a full obituary, just a small paragraph in that column of notices. No details or anything. Just that it happened Thursday, in Minot, North Dakota." "Dakota! Thursday! It must be somebody else. His car is sitting in the driveway on Warburton Avenue. I've been watching it all week." "No, it's him," she insisted. "Then are you sure it doesn't say he was *from* North Dakota? He's been out there, on and off, for years." "It definitely says *in* Minot, North Dakota. What are you going to do now?" "I don't know. I never would've expected this to happen. I've got to reach Jim. I'll get back to you." (Jim, by the way, is Jim Mitteager, one of the people who investigated this with Maury Terry.) Mitteager, in the midst of a lazy Saturday on Staten Island, was astounded, upset, and excited all at once: "He's *dead*!? For 6 months you chase a guy. He lives all these years just fine. And just like that, he's gone, after we turn him in to Brooklyn and Westchester. This is one *hell* of a development." We then realized we hadn't learned *just* what had happened to Carr. For all we knew, he had been ill or hit by a bus. Mitteager volunteered to call the Minot police to find out. A long, nervous hour later, he was back on the phone. "Listen to this carefully, 'cause you're not gonna believe it. It was violent. Gunshot. And they think it's murder, although there's a chance it could be suicide. But they're treating it as a homicide. Either way, the guy is dead, violently, right in the midst of our handing him over." I was too startled to answer. (And still later...) Meanwhile, implying he was an official investigator, Mitteager cultivated a source within OSI, the Air Force police agency. OSI was involved in the case, because Carr's death occurred in the bedroom of a housing unit on the Minot Air Force base. Carr, it turned out, had left the Air Force 16 months earlier. The home was that of his girlfriend, Linda O'Connor, whose estranged serviceman husband, Craig, had moved off the base. One thing that's not mentioned in this particular section of the book is the fact that John Carr had obviously been involved with a branch of this satanic cult, The Process cult, while *in* the Air Force and working as an F-16 maintenance man *at* Minot... or not an F-16, but I believe F-106, maintenance man at the Minot, North Dakota, Air Force base. That's one of the deaths that we're gonna be dealing with. Now just as John Carr... By the way, he ultimately was found to have been murdered. It was made to look like a suicide. But a lot of these circumstances suggested that, in fact, John Carr had been murdered. Then upon examination of the corpse during autopsy, there were actual questions raised whether or not this *was* John Carr. Because a lot of things did not jibe with what was known about the *living* John Carr. So it's perhaps possible that John Carr is still alive today. Now John Carr's brother, Michael, another son of Sam Carr, was also being investigated and also appears to have been involved in all of the Son of Sam activities as well as the various Process satanic cover activities. And just as the investigators were getting close to him, he too died. Returning to *The Ultimate Evil*: Ward county police politics was about to become the least of our worries. At 4 a.m. on October 4th, Michael Vale Carr III, a prime suspect, was racing toward a rendezvous with infinity. As he sped north on Manhattan's rickety, ancient, west side highway, at 70th street something happened. His pale green Buick plowed headlong into a streetlight stanchion at nearly 75 miles per hour. The impact dislodged the steering wheel and ripped the engine out of the car. At 27, Michael Carr was finished. Dave Hartley(sp?) of the Yonkers *Herald-Statesman* called me at 8:30 a.m. "I've got a photographer down there now. Maybe the pictures will tell us something." "Why, Dave?" I asked. "Aren't we sure that this is merely a coincidence?" (Actually, I was dazed by the news.) "Too many coincidences," Hartley replied. Again, there are many, many coincidences here. And we're gonna take a look at some more of these deaths that... of people, who dogged this investigation at every step of the way. Again, one of the things that's chilling about this particular organization is how effectively they were able to eliminate suspects in the investigation. It appears probable from the circumstances surrounding this wave of killings that this group had strong connections within the law enforcement and intelligence communities. Now one of the *attempted* murders that, fortunately for this investigation, did not come off, was that of David Berkowitz himself. He had been actively co-operating with Maury Terry and others seeking to re-open the investigation. He [Berkowitz] himself narrowly escaped death when his throat was cut. Returning to *The Ultimate Evil*: In May, I received word from a source that Berkowitz' life was in danger. I immediately phoned Jim [Mitteager] who contacted Felix Gilroy. Gilroy sent a formal advisement to the correction department warning that reliable informants said that an attempt might soon be made to end Berkowitz' life. It happened at about 8:15 a.m. on the morning of Tuesday, July 10th. Berkowitz, in a segregated Attica cellblock reserved for high security-risk prisoners, was carrying a pail of hot washwater as part of his inmate's job as a porter when the razor slash came. The cut, which caught Berkowitz from behind, extended from the left side of his throat to the back of his neck. It required 56 stitches to close. A bit deeper, and he would've been dead. Berkowitz, with typical aplomb, walked up to a correction guard and said, "I'm sorry, but I've been cut." He was taken to the infirmary for treatment and refused to co-operate with prison officials in their investigation. He never revealed the name of his assailant, who was another inmate. And fortunately, David Berkowitz survived. A lot of other people, however, didn't. There's a huge, *huge* number of apparent suicides, or accidents, or obvious murders in connection with the investigation of this particular cult. Now one of the, one of the *places* where this cult was very active was in Minot, North Dakota. And there appears to have been a whole ring of The Process umbrella cult there. And as the investigators began to probe into the Minot connection, many of the people there died. And, just one second... uh, there's another, I believe... I've gotten my place a little bit confused here. Let's see... Yeah. Now we'll move along. This is... we're in order here. More killings. Again, this is... These are killings in connection with the Minot branch of The Process umbrella cult: The newly deceased was Jerry Berg, a cult-connected friend of John Carr's whose name surfaced early in the Minot investigation of Carr's satanic associates. Berg, Carr, the now-deceased Donny Boon... (And Donny Boon died under circumstances not described here.) ...Phil Falcon, a person known as "The Wiz", and a young man named Larry Milenko, comprised the inner circle in Minot. Jerry Berg, a short, stocky man with curly, blondish hair, was a native of Bismarck who moved to the Minot area in the mid-1970s to take some courses in Minot state college, where Carr, Falcon, and some of the others also studied part time. An accomplished outdoorsman, Berg had been on the wrestling team while at Bismarck Junior College [BJC], from which he graduated in 1972. He was three years older than Arlis Perry, who entered BJC in the fall of 1973. Interrupting: Arlis Perry was a person, apparently a Christian activist, who had been attempting to convert members of this satanic cult to Christianity. She was... When she moved out to Palo Alto, with her husband, who was entering his second year at Stanford university, she was murdered in the Stanford church in October of 1974. So this is a case which intersects directly with the Santa Clara valley and within our listening radius here. That's who Arlis Perry is, however. On December 27th, 1979, Berg and Milenko were chopping trees in a wooded area outside Minot. According to Milenko, the pair had separated and were about an eighth mile apart. Milenko said the sound of Berg's saw stopped, and then he walked over to where Berg was working and found him crushed to death beneath a large tree. Milenko, ever respectful, then put the body in his truck, drove it to a hospital, dropped it off, and left. He immediately hired a lawyer. "Berg was an experienced woodsman. He'd been in that business," Gardner said. "It just seemed very strange to have something like this happen to him -- let alone at the same time [that] we're poking around about John Carr and Arlis Perry." In searching through Berg's possessions, police found further evidence of his satanic interests. In a letter Berg hadn't yet mailed to two friends in North Carolina, he said he was having difficulties with his brother and he was thinking of "putting a black magic curse on him." He also talked of looking up his black magic teacher, Aquarius Hador, who was "now in Minneapolis. I'm sure he's as evil as he's ever been," Berg wrote. Ironically, he closed the letter by cautioning his friends to "be careful in the woods." Police were never able to prove that Berg's death was a murder. But the total of violently dead now included four who were directly linked to Berkowitz and the Son of Sam case: Jerry Berg, John Carr, Michael Carr, and Howard Weiss(sp?). Additionally, the Yonkers mailman who committed suicide a month after Berkowitz' capture, Andrew Dupres(sp?), was strongly suspected of having been threatened by the group. And then there were the near misses: sniper attacks on Gardner and on the police officer substituting for Wheat Carr's husband... (Wheat Carr's the sister of John and Michael Carr.) ...John McCabe, and the incident in which Darlene Kristienson(sp?) and Tom Taylor reported they were run off the road near Minot. There was no absolute proof that the latter incidents were related to the Son of Sam investigation, but strong indications were certainly present. Another incident, which occurred less than two weeks before Berg's death, was also highly suspicious. This one happened in New York. A letter I later received said, "Dear Maury Terry, please look into this double killing. Carol was asking people about OTO a year prior to the murders." Interrupting: The OTO was Alestair Crowley's cult. That's one of the organizations which intersects with The Process. "Carol was asking people about the OTO a year prior to the murders. I can't accept that the people responsible for this are still walking around free. I'm afraid that the problem will not go away and that minds this unbalanced may perpetrate additional horrors. Forgive me for not signing my name. I haven't gotten over the fear." The writer was apparently a woman friend of one Carol Marron, 33, a Brooklyn resident. Marron was a secretary at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and designed clothing to supplement her income. For seven years she lived with Howard Green, 53, an abstract painter who drove a cab for his steady paycheck. As the letter writer said, for more than a year Marron and Green had been delving into the occult. Their small basement apartment at 270 DeKalb Avenue was spiced with various items of satanic influence. Chances are excellent that this paraphernalia was purchased at a certain occult store located not far from their residence -- a store that served more purposes than one for certain occult adepts. In the early evening hours of Saturday, December 15th, Marron and Green were spotted by an acquaintance on a subway train in Manhattan. The friend left the train at 59th street, but Marron and Green kept going. The subway they were riding would carry them past Columbia University before continuing to the end of the line at the Bronx/Yonkers border. Sometime later that night, Green and Marron returned to their Brooklyn apartment. The next time they were sighted was at 7 p.m. the following evening. They were lying next to each other off route 80 in West Patterson, New Jersey, not far from New York City. Both were bludgeoned on their left sides. Both had right eye wounds. And both clutched clumps of hair in their fists, a satanic symbol. And there was one other similarity. Every drop of blood had been drained from the bodies of Carol Marron and Howard Green with a veterinarian's syringe. And again, there were, as indicated in this particular passage that I just finished, there were a lot of other near misses for many people. I'm not even gonna go into those now, due to time. But it's a pattern which becomes numbingly familiar when you've investigated political conspiracies for awhile: just witness the flood of corpses that pursued the Iran-Contra investigation. Now again, another murder here that appears to have been involved to cover up the Son of Sam, Manson family, Process operation was that involving... Again, bear in mind that the activities that this group was involved in, the Satanism is just a cover and an apparent mind-control device. The actual activities are murder, drug dealing, pornography, call girl operations, and kiddie porn in particular. "Vinnie" here, by the way, is a prison informant who helped to break the case. Now one of the points that he makes is that certain people are selected for definite reasons and killed, and other killings are committed at random to cover up the significant killings. Now again, "Vinnie" here is a prison informant: Vinnie named Donna Lauria, slain in the Bronx on July 29th, 1976, as one of those deliberately selected for death. I'll interrupt: Donna Lauria was one of the victims of the Son of Sam, one of the .44 caliber killing victims. He further stated that some of the .44 shootings occurred at random, to cover up the targeted incidents. He also said that a major leader of the group lived in a large, free- wheeling mansion in either New Jersey or Long Island; that the group was involved in drug, porno, and call girl operations involving college-age girls; that shipments of illegal weapons were sometimes part of the picture, and at least one Son of Sam murder was filmed or videotaped by the group. Without exception, these allegations were explosive to put it mildly. They were also so complex and elaborate that we immediately suspected there was at least some truth to them. In the coded section of Vinnie's letter he was, I later learned, describing the murder of Stacy Moskowitz and the blinding of Robert Violante. (Those were two other victims of the .44 caliber killings.) Some of the coded names were said to refer to participants in that attack, which was alleged to have been videotaped by the cult. As Vinnie later wrote me, "Videotapes, snuff films... The killing of Stacy Moskowitz is on film. It draws a high price, the sick bastards. But this is business. The whole Moskowitz killing was orchestrated. The whole *capture* was." (By the way, that's the capture of David Berkowitz.) "Analyze the events yourself." (Vinnie didn't know Berkowitz had already revealed details of that operation to me.) "You'll feel like a fool for ever having believed differently. Sickeningly, this whole nightmare is real. I have a good idea where the films and ritual book, the log of coven crimes, are. But a premature leak could get them 'lost'." Lost was one thing. Dead was another -- as in, murdered on Halloween. As Vinnie later wrote, "I had two locations -- Brooklyn Heights and the Village." (Greenwich Village). "I didn't know which was to be the place, except it was to be one of them. Berkowitz didn't know either. And he didn't know it would be that guy. When I sent out that code, I didn't know that the guy that turned out to be the victim was among those names. And why was he killed? He was afraid he was 'going down' [i.e. "taking the fall", being the "patsy" for crime involving persons higher up] on drug dealing. He was about to help the cop, Santucci; to tell it all." (By the way, Santucci is John Santucci, the District Attorney of Queens, one of the 5 counties that comprises, or boroughs, that comprise New York City.) Returning to this passage: "He was about to help the cop, Santucci; to tell it all. And he was gonna make a copy of the videotape, *and* *stills*! They 'wasted' him. It served a double purpose." The dead man was, logically enough, a photographer. He was referred to twice in the coded Vinnie letter: first as "Ronald", next as "Sissy Spacek". His name, Ronald Sisman. And Vinnie had written down his name two weeks *before* the murder, which occurred on the night of October 30th, or shortly after midnight, on Halloween, in Sisman's Manhattan brownstone at 207 West 22nd street, on the fringe of Greenwich Village. Technically, the neighborhood was known as the Chelsea section. (I would interject at this point, too. One of the things that The Process umbrella cult does is commit murders at or around times of satanic holidays, or occult holidays. Halloween is one of those holidays.) In December, Vinnie, not even realizing that he listed Sisman's name in October, wrote to the same friend to whom he'd sent the earlier letter. "The name, I believe, was Sisek. A girl and he were shot, a co-ed from Massachusetts. Sisek was planning a deal with the D.A. [District Attorney]. He was gonna produce [deliver] the videotapes." Vinnie wrote that Berkowitz hadn't told him personally about the motive for Sisman's murder but that a mutual associate had filled him in. And Vinnie later said to me, "Berkowitz had told me about Sisek, and he told me an inside job was in the works for Halloween. But he didn't say that Sisek..." (Remember, that's the coded name for Ronald Sisman.) "...But he didn't say that Sisek was the planned victim. I don't think *he* knew it. He was getting info from outside, but there was a lag sometimes. But he knew Sisek before. He'd been to his brownstone with Michael Carr. He told me that Sisek was dealing [selling drugs] and that there was a party going on when they got there. He saw the chandelier. Berkowitz waited while Michael Carr got the stuff." As a confirming note, the building was indeed a brownstone and there was a chandelier on the premises along with a hanging tiffany lamp. According to Vinnie, Ronald Sisman had been at the scene of the Moskowitz/Violante shooting and may have videotaped the attack himself. If not, he assisted whoever operated the camera. "It was either him, or that guy Mickey." ("Mickey Mouse" in the coded letter.) "I have no idea *who* he is. I also think 'Manson II' might have assisted the filming, but I'm not sure." Interrupting again: "Manson II" is the code name for a man named Phil Benson(sp?), who was one of the links between the Berkowitz killings and the depredations of the Manson family out in California. Remember: these *both* operated under The Process umbrella cult. Sisman, 35, was a Canadian native whom police described as a photographer, procurer, and dope dealer. He and Elizabeth Plotzman, 20, a Long Island resident and a student at posh Smith College in Massachusetts, were both shot in the back of the head, execution style. Her hands were bound behind her with a cord; his weren't. The apartment, as Vinnie also predicted, was totally ransacked. And still more killings, that were being committed to cover up this group, are to come here. Now we're gonna get into quite a few more. As I said, it's a numbing total. And one of the things that's so disturbing is the evident power of this group. And remember, it appears to be strongly connected with organized crime and elements of our intelligence system [and] law enforcement. It is *very* well-connected. And again, explicitly Nazi in nature. Returning to *The Ultimate Evil*: The sort of "grand-daddy" of the New York wing of this cult appears to have been a man named Roy Radin. Now Radin was very much involved with film production. He was involved with production of a film, "The Cotton Club", and other movies. He also achieved quite a bit of notoriety in the, in relation to a sexual molestation incident out on Long Island. A woman named Melonie Haller who, I guess, used to star in the "Welcome Back, Kotter" television show, was apparently drugged and sexually violated, and her violation [was] videotaped, at Roy Radin's mansion. When this began to come out, Radin... I've forgot off-hand whether he was actually convicted on the charges or not. He was indicted on a lot of different things. [He] escaped most of the charges. In 1983, as the investigation of the Son of Sam/Manson/Process link was proceeding, Radin went out to California and he was murdered while... [He] disappeared, he was found murdered while in California. [...] So, so much for Roy Radin. And again, he was a very well- connected individual, [and] appears to have been only *one* of the people involved in this particular situation. Obviously, there are many others around. Radin was killed to prevent them, prevent the investigation from going still further and involving them. Another of the deaths that appears to have been a murder, committed to cover up the growing investigation into The Process umbrella cult, was that of a man, a journalist, in Minot, North Dakota, named Jack Graham. Maury Terry describes his death as follows: Jack Graham was, at 29, fondly considered the "bearded giant" of the *Minot Daily News*. The husky, bespectacled, brown- haired reporter and the native of Washington, D.C., joined the Son of Sam fray with an intense passion for ferreting out the Minot links to the case. For a year, he worked closely with Jeff Nies and me. Among other contributions, he was instrumental in tracking down John Carr's friend, Phil Falcon, on the west coast. In August and September of 1980, Jack and I worked on an investigation of Larry Milenko, John Carr's cult-connected friend who was toiling in the woods with Jerry Berg when the falling tree crushed Berg to death. In early September, at a party he'd managed to infiltrate, Jack had an angry confrontation with Milenko. "We're gonna get you, you bastard," Jack told him. Two weeks later, Jack was vacationing in Michigan, visiting his family in East Lansing, and attending Jeff Nies' wedding. [...] ...his car crossed the center line on a slight curve on U.S. 2 near the small community of Vulcan, Michigan, and slammed headlong into an oncoming 18-wheeler trailer, whose driver was unhurt. Jack was pulled unconscious from the wrecked Datsun and rushed to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain. He didn't make it. [...] And we're gonna come back with more of the killings that were committed, apparently to cover up this particular investigation, in a few minutes. We're gonna take a musical break right now. [...Break...] CN -- Dave Emory continues his coverage of the suspicious murders directly traceable to the Son of Sam case. Rather than give a word-for-word transcription, here is a partial summary of points I found salient: *** A mailman named Andrew Dupres(sp?) [doo-PAY] who delivered to Berkowitz' and Carr's addresses on a daily basis reported having seen something which troubled him greatly. He also is quoted as saying that "they" were threatening him and that "they" were going to "get" his family. He wound up, apparently, committing suicide. *** The previously mentioned Carr family, two of whose members died violent deaths and who seem to have been connected to the Son of Sam killings (i.e. John Carr and Michael Carr), also had two members on the Yonkers police force. Quoting from Emory's reading of *The Ultimate Evil*: "I'd have contacted the Yonkers police force with the information I have, but I think you know as well as I it would've been another mistake considering the force employs two members of the Carr family: sister Wheat, and brother-in-law John McCabe." *** May 8, 1982 -- 4th anniversary of Berkowitz' guilty pleas. Leon Stern, Berkowitz' chief counsel at the time of these guilty pleas, was shot dead when he apparently surprised two burglars who had broken into his home. *** Some indications that The Process may have been a front for intelligence operations. Dave Emory reads from Maury Terry's book (in quotes), then adds his own comments: "Sanders said that the FBI, Israeli Intelligence, the California Beverage Control Board, the Los Angeles D.A.'s office as well as the L.A.P.D. and Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, all mounted probes of the [Sharon] Tate murders, with the Treasury Department involved peripherally. And those were only the ones *he* knew about." Well now, what conceivable interest would Israeli Intelligence have in looking into the Manson killings, if, *if* we are to take those killings at face value. And I'm not at all sure that we can. *** The existence of an elite hit squad amongst Satanists, known as "The Black Cross". Dave Emory reads from Maury Terry's book (in quotes): "At the same time, police in the Los Angeles area and two former L.A. Satanists sent word that an east coast cult branch, allied with the Chingons, the Black Cross, was operating as an elite hit squad for various U.S. satanic groups involved in drug and pornography enterprises... And as for the Black Cross itself, it appeared to be closely linked to the 'Sam' cult in New York, and existed for one purpose: murder. Its function, the California contact said, was the elimination of defecting cult members or other enemies, including innocent people who inadvertently learned about a given group's illegal activities. [CN -- For example, the above-mentioned mailman, Andrew Dupres, who after inadvertently discovering some secrets, apparently was forced to commit suicide when 'they' began threatening his family.] Murder, anywhere in the country, was now but a phone call away..." *** Dave Emory reads from Maury Terry's book (in quotes): "Now one of the interesting things concerning the Son of Sam investigation as well as the Manson family investigation was that it became very apparent that both Charles Manson and David Berkowitz, convicted in the Son of Sam case, were basically 'railroaded' by the law enforcement officials. They basically 'took the fall' for what was obviously a very very large conspiracy. Although involved, they were not the main people. They were tools. And yet the people in the positions to put them away simply did not investigate the conspiracy." *** Dave Emory comments, then reads from Maury Terry's book (in quotes): ...Queens D.A. John Santucci was convinced that David Berkowitz did not act alone and he wanted to pursue a conspiracy. However, the conspiratorial aspects were basically "deep sixed" by [Bronx D.A.] Mario Merola. "While at Police Plaza, Santucci sat in on some of the questioning of Berkowitz and formed the opinion that Berkowitz was lucid and not 'demon possessed' as he then claimed, and that the .44 case might well go deeper than it was presented to be. His own evaluation of the evidence left him with nagging doubts concerning Berkowitz' alleged sole responsibility." "Santucci then pressed for a Berkowitz trial, but was persuaded by Eugene Gold in Brooklyn and the Bronx's Mario Merola to allow Berkowitz to plead 'guilty' without any dissidence. Santucci's reluctance to yield to the pressure reached the media and he was criticized by 'its sources' for his stance." *** Emory and Terry both think that Mario Merola deliberately ignored evidence of a conspiracy behind the Son of Sam killings. Regarding Merola, Emory makes the following observations: 1) During World War II, Merola was in the O.S.S., the forerunner of the CIA: Well one of the interesting things about his background in the OSS -- the late director of the CIA, William Casey, was in charge of all secret intelligence in Europe for the OSS. Now a number of people who were in the OSS went on to careers with CIA. And I think it's a safe assumption that not *all* of those are a matter of public record. The CIA has long sought to have people in various positions that could be of use to them. District Attorneys are one of the positions that they like to be able to control. Also, coroners, is another one that they like to be able to control. It *may* be, I say it may be, that in fact Mario Merola never really left the intelligence community at all and continued to work for CIA. An even more likely possibility, I think, is that he reacted the way many people who are veterans of the OSS reacted -- although not actually in the service, they continued to do favors for the intelligence community [i.e. an "old boy network"]. 2) Mario Merola was the prosecutor in the Raymond Donovan case. Donovan got off, scot free. And in politically charged and/or intelligence related cases, one of the ways of throwing a case is often to have a deliberately weak prosecution. [CN -- see, for example, the Chuck Harder/Linda Thompson interview, in which Thompson charges that that is *exactly* what happened, i.e. that the prosecution was deliberately weak for *some* of the defendants in the Waco trial.] Now in the David Berkowitz situation, Merola definitely messed the bed very badly by accepting, basically, an *incredible* "lone nut" confession and ignoring the obvious indications of a much broader conspiracy. DAVE EMORY [Continues]: Had the Son of Sam case really unraveled the way it might have... an entire aspect of American history and political science would have been revealed that is not only unknown to most people, but frankly, would seem incredible to an awful lot of people under the circumstances. One of the points that we've tried to make, throughout the course of our discussion of *The Ultimate Evil*, is that, again, the *Satanism* is one of the things that throws people off. The intelligence agencies have *long* used occult groups as a front for activity. For one thing, occult groups exist at the periphery of public scrutiny and therefore are ideal to use as intelligence fronts. In addition to that, because of the unusual activities of occult groups, any suspicious activity on the part of an intelligence agent *using* these groups could be laid simply to the bizarre nature of the group itself. [CN -- also, first amendment protections for "religious" freedom would help shield them from investigation.] Now specifically, vis a vis mind control, many, many of the cults on the scene today are, in fact, mind-control fronts for the U.S. Intelligence and Military communities. [End 2 of 3] SON OF UNCLE SAM Part 3 of 3 My transcript of a talk given by Dave Emory entitled "The Ultimate Evil: Mind Control, Satanism, & the U.S. National Security Establishment". [...] DAVE EMORY [continues]: Now we're gonna come back to *The Ultimate Evil*. We're gonna examine it next week, in connection with the Presidio child molestation case. It's a very, very important case and we're gonna be talking about that next week. And again, I think one of the disturbing aspects of dealing with this is this whole satanic business. And as we talked about, in the first section of *The Ultimate Evil* that we read a couple of weeks ago, the people running this thing don't believe in this satanic nonsense. *That* is a combination of a cover, it's to bemuse the dupes who get used at the operational level (and then [get] bumped off as the cases begin to unravel). And it also appears, in my opinion, to be a form of bestial mind-control conditioning. Again, hearkening back to Radio Free America #5, people who have been selected by the national security establishment for assassin training are often subjected to films of violent accidents, people being mutilated in various ways, in order to de-sensitize them to violence. Now many of the satanic cult activities -- the mutilation of animals and people, the drinking of blood, the deliberate cannibalistic practices used by some of them -- are, in my opinion (in addition to satisfying people who obviously are sexually deviant -- all of this occurs in a sexual context), are ways of conditioning people to overcome their natural conditioning, their socialization against performing this type of activity. But again, this is, *The Ultimate Evil* is a terribly important book. I apologize for perhaps not being able to tie it up a little better in terms of explaining all the various details and personalities. But it's very, very involved and it's just not easy to do off the top of one's head. [...] Now last week, one of the things that I mentioned was that *this* week we were going to begin looking at the Presidio child molestation case, against the background of the "satanic" activities of The Process, the umbrella cult which is strongly implicated in the Son of Sam killings as well as the Manson group killings. Now this past week, that Presidio child molestation case has broken wide open. I mean, it has *exploded*. And we're gonna be talking about that case, that... At the time, last Sunday, I had a hunch that the Presidio child molestation case would intersect with *The Ultimate Evil*, with the umbrella cult of Satanists. And again, the "Satanist" cult is simply a cover. While the jerks that are used at the operational level *believe* in that, in point of fact the satanic activities serve to mask much more, shall we say "terrestrial" activities, such as kiddie porn, prostitution, the making of "snuff flicks" (films in which someone is actually killed on film, usually in a sexual context), drug smuggling, gun running, political assassination, and activities more befitting the intelligence organization that The Process, basically, appears to be. Again, when you start talking about Satanism, people tend to get a little weird. Certainly it's an off-beat kind of thing, and I want to *re*-emphasize (as we'll state it again) that Satanism here is really mostly the cover. It does serve as a unifying glue for many of the people that are used at the operation level. But again, the people that pull the strings, the people up top, are not... well some of them may believe in Satan, but it appears to be much, much more to it. [...] Now this first article (research credit goes to Mae Brussell), this first article was not in my copy of the *San Francisco Examiner*. It is from the *San Francisco Examiner* of November 2nd of 1987. That's last Monday. When Mae xeroxed this for me, she didn't xerox off part of the title. The title of the article says, "(something) to Observers, Presidio Satanist a Scarey Enigma". And the article is by Ivan Sharp and it's a special to the *Examiner*. The article reads, His pale face and eyebrows that snap upward like the horns of the Devil and shiny black hair shaped into a permanent widow's peak over his forehead make Michael Aquino look more like a 1930s actor playing dracula than what he claims to be -- Satan's earthly lieutenant, the Prince of Darkness [CN -- Note: the "Prince" himself recently posted a follow-up to an earlier portion of this series]. He was a wacko to many who saw him at the Presidio officers club, wearing the black shirt and clerical collar with the satanic medallion around his neck. To those who know Lieutenant Colonel Aquino as one of the Army's experts on psychological warfare, he is more of a scarey enigma. Police, the FBI, and the Army have long been curious about the activities of the high priest of the satanic Temple of Set, a man who believes he is the second beast of Revelation. The August 14 police search of his Russian Hill home in connection with the Presidio child abuse case gave a more serious tilt to the Aquino mystery. Aquino and his wife, Lillith, a former New York coven leader of the Church of Satan, have not been arrested since the 3-and-a-half year old step-daughter of a Presidio assistant chaplain identified the couple as the "Mikey" and "Shamby" who allegedly molested and photographed her in a black-walled room with a cross on the ceiling. However authorities confirm that there is an investigation and that the Aquino's are still [ca. 1987] suspects. [...] Until last July, he [Aquino] was a full-time student at the Pentagon's National Defense University in the District of Columbia. That is considered a distinction for a reserve officer. "The United States just paid me the highest honor it could by sending me to that post. And then to return to my home and have this police raid happen to me is just unbelievable and outrageous," Aquino said in a telephone interview. By all accounts, Aquino apparently has had a dazzling Army career. He was a psychological warfare officer in Viet Nam, earning the Bronze Star, Air Medal, and Army Commendation Medal. He also qualified in the Airborne, Special Forces, and Intelligence fields, graduating on the commandant's list from the Command and General Staff College, and wrote R.O.T.C. textbooks. He retired from the regular Army in 1972 to try his hand as a stockbroker, but returned to active duty as a reserve officer a few years later. Aquino now [ca. 1987] is a staff officer with a top-secret clearance at the Army Reserve Personnel Center in St. Louis, after serving 5 years at the Presidio coordinating active- duty tours and reserve training. "He is a competent, capable officer," said Colonel Ben Waller, a 6th Army spokesman, when questioned last year about the Army's probes of Aquino and his Temple of Set. A San Francisco police query prompted an Army review of his top-secret clearance. However, confidential Army documents show that not only was Aquino's status re-affirmed, but that he was promoted from Major to Lieutenant Colonel a year before he left the Presidio in July of 1986 to study in the District. The Army says Aquino's devilish appearance and weird fantasies are protected by the first amendment. "We're dealing with a man's religious beliefs, and if that's the way he wants to practice them, that's up to him," Waller said. However, city police intelligence memos obtained by the *Examiner* indicate that as long ago as 1981, authorities were noting the Temple of Set's obsession with Hitler's Nazis, that Aquino claimed to be reporting directly to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and that a number of Temple of Set Satanists were in military intelligence. Aquino proudly shows visitors to his Leavenworth Street home a ritual dagger once worn by an SS World War II General, and boasts about a ritual he performed in the Hall of the Dead at Wewelsburg(sp?) Castle in West Germany during a 1982 tour of European NATO bases. During World War II, the Westphalian(sp?) castle was an occult sanctuary for Himmler's SS elite. [...] Even his admirers and some former Temple of Set members admit that Aquino has some odd quirks. He once urged the Pentagon, in a controversial psychological warfare study entitled "Mind War", to overwhelm enemies by mobilizing every means of domestic and foreign propaganda, including brainwashing the U.S. public. He argued, "In mind war, there is no substitute for victory." Aquino explained, "The mind war scenario, which could be used sensationally in a couple of contexts, was a theoretical paper which was circulated within military-academic circles. The mind war paper is not a product of Satanism. It's not a product of the Temple. It's a military and psychological question." [...] Apparently, child molestation and Satanism is a growing association in the United States. And the cases in the military are anything but isolated. Reading from the *San Francisco Chronicle* of Thursday, November 5th of 1987, it's an article by Edward W. Lempinen. It's headlined, "Satanism Linked to Scores of U.S. Child Abuse Cases". Satanism and cult rituals have been linked to scores of child molestation cases nationwide in the past 5 years, including dozens in California. Children as young as 2 and 3 years old have come forward with harrowing tales of drinking blood, animal sacrifices, and sexual abuse as part of rituals, according to law enforcement investigators, child abuse experts, and parents. Others have even talked of cannibalism and ritual sacrifice of children. After hearing similar tales over and over from people across the country, many investigators and child abuse experts now have come to believe in the unbelievable. "It's a highly explosive issue," said Roberta Sachs, a psychologist at Rush- Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago, who has given therapy to dozens of people apparently abused in cults. "It's filled with atrocities comparable to, and greater than, some of the concentration camp stories we have heard of. There has been every kind of imaginable and un-imaginable torture." In San Francisco, police confirmed last week that they are investigating reports by a 3-year-old girl, who claimed that she was taken from a daycare center at the Presidio Army base and driven to a home where she was molested by 2 men in costume. Police suspect that the home was the headquarters of the Temple of Set, a Nazi-Satanic group, and they have listed the temple's high priest as a possible suspect. No arrests have been made. Investigators and parents have declined to give details of the cases of at least 58 children who attended the Presidio child development center, fearing that they might jeopardize the prosecution of a former daycare worker. But in other cases across the nation, experts say there is striking evidence of ritualized sexual abuse that recurs in case after case. At West Point, New York, Army families have pressed an investigation into widespread child abuse at a military daycare center in 1983 and '84. One parent has charged that her daughter was "involved in a satanic workshop where there was a marriage to the Devil, and a dog's tail and back paw was cut and burned in front of her." In therapy, the girl said that she had been drugged and molested by 2 teachers. In 1985, children who attended the McMartin pre-school in Manhattan Beach, Los Angeles County, said they were involved in rituals that included black-robed adults who chanted and killed animals on the altar. One of the pupils said that she was forced to drink blood. Some children also alleged that a McMartin teacher cut the ears off rabbits to scare them. [CN -- I recall that they were searching for underground tunnels in this case and that at first they found nothing. I seem to remember that, later on, they did indeed find the underground tunnels. Can anyone confirm this?] Investigators raided the home belonging to the girlfriend of one suspect, and found a pair of rabbit ears, a black cloak, a black cape, and black candles. Despite the allegations, the prosecution's case has been discredited by defense attorneys, and more than 100 of the charges initially filed have been dismissed. In 1984 and '85, nineteen Bakersfield children reported that they had been abused, and many of them told stories of animal sacrifice, blood drinking, and "church" service with prayers to the Devil. Eventually, 77 adults in Kearn County were implicated by children. Investigators, however, were unable to substantiate the children's charges of Satanism. Law enforcement officials say other cases have been reported in Illinois and in Miami, Florida, El Paso, Texas, Omaha, Nebraska, Carson City, Nevada, and Sacramento. (Skipping down in the article...) Sandy Gallant, an intelligence officer with the San Francisco police and one of the nation's most influential experts on cults, cautioned that many cases are proving unfounded. But she says there have been 60 to 70 "solid" cases of ritual sexual abuse in the past few years nationwide. She and others have heard hundreds of children and adults -- people who have never met and who live a continent apart -- tell stories that are fundamentally the same. "Independently, the victims are describing incredibly similar circumstances," said Catherine Gould, a clinical psychologist in the Los Angeles district of Encino, who has counseled dozens of children who claim they were molested in rituals. "They talk about animals being mutilated and killed, and having to drink blood," said Detective Kurt Jackson, a nationally recognized cult expert with the Beaumont, Riverside County, police department. "They talk about being put in boxes or coffins, in mock burials. They talk about being forced to drink human urine and eat human feces. The biggest thing that they have in common is, they say they are made to worship the Devil." Gould, who is now counseling 20 children who apparently were involved in ritual abuse, regularly hears stories of cannibalism and child sacrifice. Many children report that they are photographed during the ceremonies, leading to the certainty among some experts that the rituals and sexual activities are sold for pornography and possibly used for blackmail. A number of things to talk about in this article as well. One of the things... The kinds of activities they're talking about there, the horrible sadism, the bestiality, the having to eat feces and drink urine -- those are typical of many of the kinds of activities described by Maury Terry in *The Ultimate Evil*. The Process people are solidly into that kind of thing: the animal mutilation, child sacrifice, and things of that kind. Now during the phone-in section of last week's broadcast, among the motives of the kiddie porn and videotapes and the snuff flicks were to... well, we "kicked it around" with a listener. And one of the things that I mentioned at the time was that there are basically... American politics is run by 4 "b"s -- bullets, broads, beds, and blackmail. And I voiced the opinion that among the things that, among the intelligence activities being covered by "The Process" were, in fact, political blackmail. That many people have bizarre sexual tastes and that these kinds of things are ideal -- meaning videotapes of this kind of thing -- are ideal blackmail devices. So this also is worth thinking about. [...] We are, however, gonna include the following long excerpts from Frederick Tupper Sausee(sp?)'s, "The Politics of Witchcraft" -- his postscript to James Earl Ray's book. And we're gonna include this in our archives. At this point I don't know which archive show this will be included in, or whether it will stand as a separate archive show. My inclination at this juncture is to include this as part of "The Ultimate Evil" tape. And perhaps, maybe we'll add one more section to that in addition to this. I don't know exactly if this is where we'll fit it in. But I think it would be a very appropriate postscript to "The Ultimate Evil" tape as well as to James Earl Ray's book. Now again, the title of this afterword is, "The Politics of Witchcraft". We're not gonna use the whole thing, we're just gonna read long sections of it. And as Frederick Tupper Sausee indicates here, the witchcraft here is both at a literal *and* a figurative level; he's using it literally and he's using it figuratively. The two intersect, and that's one of the things that I think is so important here. And again, for the benefit of people that hear this later, on tape, and did not hear the first part of tonight's broadcast: one of the quotes that we've used frequently, in conjunction with this type of research, is one from comedian Mort Sahl. Mort Sahl was one of the first people, first public figures, to raise questions about President Kennedy's assassination. And one of the things that we took a look at was Mort Sahl's book, *Heartland*, in which he asked the question, "How many lies can you allow yourself to believe, before you *belong* to the lie? Is it too late for America?" And we're gonna basically take a look at lies, the politics of lying, and the tragic developments in this country over the past few decades. And again, I will reiterate something that I've said several times over the years, or many times over the years, which is -- without studying this country's political assassinations, it is *impossible* to correctly understand what's going on. You may get some idea, but you won't understand the *depth* of what's going on. And you really cannot understand the substance of American power politics in the last 30 years without studying this country's assassinations. During the phone-in session of a *One Step Beyond* show a couple of weeks ago there was a spirited exchange between myself and one of our callers who uses the air name, "George", who's in fact a researcher who has co-operated with us on some of our scientific work on AIDS in the past. However, I know George, having worked with him, and I knew that he has never studied the Kennedy assassination. And he took serious issue with my statement that you cannot understand America's power politics without it. And he then proceeded to illustrate in dramatic fashion *why* that is the case. He does *not* understand the Kennedy assassination. In fact, as he later indicated, he doesn't even understand the Kennedy administration when he maintained that Kennedy had never dismissed any important CIA officials. Kennedy not only dismissed Allen Dulles, by far and away the most powerful CIA director in history, who then, less than 2 years later, or 2 years later, served on the Warren Commission and handled the liaison between the Warren Commission and the CIA. He [JFK] also dismissed deputy director of the CIA, Charles P. Cabell, who was the fellow who put together the organized crime assassination teams with Robert Maheu -- supposedly to use against Fidel Castro, but as it appears (when we looked at [it] in "The Guns of November"), they were used against President Kennedy instead. Cabell was fired by Kennedy; Cabell's brother, Earle, himself a former CIA operative, was the mayor of Dallas at the time of Kennedy's assassination, helped arrange President Kennedy's motorcade route, and was in that motorcade. The point being, of course, there's an inextricable link between Kennedy's firing of these officials and his assassination. And we went into a number of other aspects of the Kennedy assassination, including its precipitating of the Viet Nam war, or our large-scale involvement in it, and a number of other things. And again, it's not to personally attack George, but the fact of the matter is... The call served as a very dramatic illustration of just how poor the understanding of even knowledgeable people is when they have not looked at this country's assassinations. One of the points that Tupper Sausee makes here is that lies build on themselves; that what we're facing now in this country is layer after layer after layer of lies. And I'll maintain that the "left", so-called "progressive" forces in this country, are *just* as wedded to the lies as the "right". And for most of the same reasons. At this point [1987], I think America belongs to the lie. I think even the so-called "progressive" forces have allowed themselves to believe *so* many lies that, at this point, for them to take a look at the truth, and admit the truth, would be tantamount to a Copernican revolution of American political "science", so to speak. That, as it stands now, even the so- called "progressive" forces are almost totally disoriented in terms of their understanding of what's *actually* going on, how *bad* things have really gotten. Nothing will illustrate that more clearly, I think, than the Temple of Set, where you have pre-school children being asked to name the dates on which they were molested. And if they can't do that, the charges go out the window. That's *absurd*. That's how far we've gone. (That, by the way, from a previous portion of the broadcast.) Again I think, *in* *particular*: think about this country's assassinations. Think about the King holiday which we recently celebrated. Unfortunately, we were not on the air on that particular evening. And I will reiterate something I've said in the past: I personally am deeply opposed to the establishment of a national holiday for Dr. Martin Luther King. *Not* that I don't think it's a good idea to preserve his memory, obviously, and the principles he worked for. But when you allow a man to be murdered with impunity, when you allow a man to take a bullet, [when] you will not show *any* substantive interest in who did the killing -- when the people who did the killing are a matter of public record! (And we *know* who did it.) -- it's grotesque. I think it's really grotesque to name a holiday after somebody, celebrate a holiday after somebody, when you can't, when you *won't*, look into someone's murder. To me, that's tantamount to being an accessory to murder. I think, in many real respects, those who celebrate the King holiday are making themselves accessories to his killing. And I think it's *grotesque*. It... In this essay, Tupper Sausee refers to the King holiday -- under the circumstances of the ignoring of his assassination -- as being kind of a "Black Mass". And it's no pun intended, but I think it's something that can be thought about here. At any rate, that's by way of introduction. Again, this is going into the archives. This is the afterword to James Earl Ray's book, *Tennessee Waltz*. This essay, "The Politics of Witchcraft", by Frederick Tupper Sausee. It opens with a quote from Proverbs, 29:12 -- "If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked." Now that you have read James' book, you should be convinced that (a) Reverend Martin Luther King, jr., was murdered by someone other than James Earl Ray, and (b) James has been unlawfully locked in prison, and in history, by American dignitaries as the symbol of that murderer. If you believe James is innocent, you have brought yourself to the threshhold of one of the most important decisions of your life. Because you see, if James and his extensive documentation are telling the truth, it must follow that his accusers, with their stifled evidence and their obstruction of justice, are not telling the truth. His accusers are, to put it in the simplest terms available -- liars. I use "liar" deliberately and advisedly. The word is derived from the Indo-European root, *leugh*, and the old-English, *leogan*: "to tell a lie". With the prefix, *waer*, "faith" or "pledge", we get the old-English, *waerleogan*, or "oath breaker". *Waerleogan*, in modern English, is *Warlock*: "a male witch, a demon". The fossils of the world tell us that false representation, oath breaking, and witchcraft, are part of that complex process known as "lying". A liar, then, is a witch or demon who distorts reality, to your injury and his gain. To establish credibility with you, he may give the appearance of helping you. But in the long term, he claims your life, just as another liar will claim his. Lying is deadly, and highly contagious. The man who receives his information from a liar will spew out lies when he passes the information on. When you have liars, trained in the demonic arts, controlling the highest seats of governmental authority, you will have liars controlling the information channels. When their lies fill the printed pages, loudspeakers, and TV screens, you will have liars administering the workplaces, marketplaces, schools, churches, and homes. Without realizing it, your nation becomes possessed by demons; your nation practices the politics of witchcraft. A liar's fortunes are very cleverly established on his pretenses of virtue; otherwise, well-meaning people would have nothing to do with him. He will not think twice about murdering to protect his good reputation. (Skipping down...) In a lying society, murder is an acceptable alternative to radically changing one's views. In lying societies, the virtues are brutishness, deceit, sodomy, theft, debt, and suicide. He who is most menacing and monstrous is most popular. The most powerful liar rules. The Oscars and Emmys and political elections go to the best impersonators, while the Grammys and centerfolds go to the best seducers. Though powerful in appearance, lies are in reality extremely fragile. There is no protection for a liar except (1) darkness, or (2) the mercy of a more powerful liar. This is why lying societies crave dimness of room and of mind. It is why they seek bondage to human authority. Now the bondage won't necessarily manifest itself through the familiar symbols of slavery. Not all American-lie families keep on-hand whips and chains, like those found in CIA agent and eminently respectable Clay Shaw's New Orleans home by investigators searching out Shaw's supervisory involvement in President Kennedy's assassination. In demonic political systems, the bondage is assumed through adhesion contracts extended by liars to lie believers. Nearly every American is bound by such contracts. The most prevalent one is the process by which citizens periodically give power of attorney to liars through voter registration. A registered voter is subject to every regulation passed by his representative, regardless of how tyrannical or insane. [...] (Skipping down still further in the essay...) Lying is so much a part of the fabric of American life, that whole generations are now addicted to lies. The same schools that stimulate children to sexual awareness before puberty, the same schools that offer suicide as a viable alternative to a miserable life, these same schools train pupils to believe the Warren Commission's conclusion that Lee Oswald murdered President Kennedy with 3 shots from behind. This, despite the fact that in March of 1979 the House Select Committee on Assassinations quietly and reluctantly found that the acoustical evidence proved a fourth shot had been fired from in front of the President. The Select Committee forwarded its finding to the U.S. Justice Department with a recommendation that a more complete investigation be made. So far, after 8 years, the Justice Department has done nothing. As Jim Garrison states in his forthcoming book, *Coup d'etat*, "The last word on the United States' government's adjusted posture seems to be that Lee Oswald killed President Kennedy by firing 3 shots at him from the back, and 1 shot at him from the front." Imagine the configuration of a man that could perform such a feat, and you have a lie. Imagine the person who sits back and accepts such a conclusion, and you have a lie-believing citizen of a nation that practices classical witchcraft. (Skipping down still further...) When liars rule, murderers go free. Have you heard about the Indianapolis sacrifice tape? A friend of mine, a minister of a small church in Minneapolis, was given a 2-hour videocassette of an actual ritualistic witches orgy produced by the Indianapolis police in 1984 at the invitation of the warlock who led the coven. The warlock insisted, and the police agreed, that none of those involved be investigated or prosecuted. Why did the warlock invite the police to make the tapes? He felt the times were now so amiable to witchcraft that Satanists should step out of the closet under governmental protection. The tape ends with the bloody sacrifice of a human being, a young member who had been drugged out of his senses, followed by the goriest scenes of fornication and cannibalism. Pause a moment, and let the horror of the politics of witchcraft sink in. It is possible to step into a crowded elevator in Indianapolis and rub shoulders with someone who has knowingly, gleefully, eaten raw human flesh and blood. I see very little difference between cannibalism and wrongful incarceration. In both events, reality is so distorted that the life of one human being is controlled and manipulated against his will at the pleasure of another. Both are the theft of the most precious right, freedom, by the practitioners of anarchic sexual violence. It is rule by Marquis de Sade, the 18th century French libertine, whose achievements of sexual satisfaction by inflicting pain on others are memorialized by psychologists in the term "sadism". The pain is made acceptable by entwining the victim in a rapturous spell that confuses any will to resist. Thus, to submit to deSade's assumption of control over one's movement down streets and highways, the use of one's earnings and children and time and body, the expression of one's beliefs, is to do worse than "comply with the law"; it's falling prey to demonic spell. (And skipping ahead still further...) In the October 1977 *Rolling Stone*, Carl Bernstein cited official CIA documents reflecting that over the past 25 years more than 400 of America's leading communication resources -- including NBC, CBS, ABC, Associated Press, United Press International, Koppley(sp?) News Service, Hearst Newspapers, *Time*, Incorporated, *The New York Times*, and *Newsweek* -- had received payments, mainly in cash, from CIA officials in exchange for publishing material designed to keep certain operations covert: hidden from the public. Operations like the King assassination? How many decisions in your life have been based on the disinformation broadcast from these sources? (And skipping down still further...) |
