The wonderful and generous Vivian Vance was also a patient at
Fairfield State Hospital. I believe that she suffered from recurring bouts
of depression and admitted herself to FSH (FHH) more than once. She
was very appreciative of the care she received at FSH and donated
generous amounts of money to the hospital out of gratitude.

These two pictures above are probably from the late 1950's or early 1960's

There used to be annual band-concerts in front of Canaan House in the
1950's until the late 1970's
